I never really cared for older games. I’m usually into newer ones with better graphics and smoother gameplay. But mgs2 is an exception. It’s old yeah, but I ended up enjoying it way more than I thought I would.

The Ups:

-Gameplay surprised me in a good way. The stealth is pretty damn fun. You’re constantly having to think on your feet, finding ways to sneak past guards or take them out without being noticed. When you pull it off, it feels like you’ve just outsmarted the game, which is a great feeling.

Story: ♥♥♥♥♥ sake, the story is way deeper than you’d expect. It’s not just a "save the world" thing, it’s more about control, freedom, and how technology and ai can mess with everything. There are a lot of twists, and honestly, you’ll probably still be thinking about it after you finish.

-Cutscenes. Yeah, they’re long, but they’re actually interesting. They dive into the story and give you way more context, so it doesn’t feel like they’re just padding the game. The voice acting has aged very well as alot of old games (what i have played) usually tend to have pretty ''ehh'' voice acting, and the soundtrack is on point, it really sets the mood.

-Atmosphere and the aesthetics were one of a kind for me. This game has tension written all over it. You never feel fully safe, even in quiet moments. There’s always this feeling of something going wrong, which makes everything feel more intense.

The Downs:

-The controls feel old. Aiming isn’t smooth, and the camera can be a pain in the ass, especially when you're trying to get around tight spaces. It's not a dealbreaker, but you’ll be cursing out the camera a few times for sure.

-This game doesn’t go easy on you. If you mess up, you’re starting over from the beginning of a section, which can get pretty annoying. It’s tough but hey, that’s part of the whole ''you have to earn it'' vibe (also for some people difficulty is a positive thing, so this really depends on the player).

-Pacing feels off, especially during the start of the game. Also the cutscenes can slow things down a lot (also not necessarily a bad thing it's just that some people prefer more action, less dialogue). If you’re in the mood for non-stop action, these things can feel like a drag. The game is kind of a slow burn.

Overall-

MGS2 is a damn good game, even if it’s not always the easiest to get through. The stealth is challenging and exciting, the story is deep, and the atmosphere really pulls you in. The controls are clunky, and the pacing can slow down, but if you’re into a game that makes you think and keeps you on edge, it’s totally worth playing.

A Way Out is a fun game, but it’s not perfect.

The ups:

- The story surprised me. I thought it would just be about escaping prison, but it goes deeper than that. The characters actually feel real, and there are some solid twists.

-The teamwork is fun. You’re constantly working with your partner, which keeps the game interesting and makes you feel like you’re actually in this together.

-It’s a short playthrough, but I kind of liked that. It doesn’t drag and gets to the point.

The downs:

-Some parts drag, especially when you’re just walking around or solving easy puzzles.

-The game is pretty short. You can finish it in a few hours, and I was left wanting more.

-The writing can be awkward, and some emotional moments don’t land well.

-The ending felt rushed. After all the build-up, it kind of wraps up too quickly and doesn’t hit as hard as it could’ve.

Overall, A Way Out is a cool co-op game with a good story, but it’s short, and the ending could’ve been better. Worth playing if you’ve got a friend to play with tho.
