I love this game. Tynan, the creative director, often describes Rimworld as a "Story Generator", and I definately see why. Of course, it is a game, but through your actions and responses to the random events thrown at you, compiled with the great depth of systems, interesting tales pop up. Maybe your colony starts off as just a single nakey dude in the middle of the woods, who builds up a vast community of people, but whom dies from getting all his limbs torn off by exploding antelopes. His body is sealed within the fridge for years, and finally, when you get a single dose of Ressurector Mechanite Serum, the founder of your colony is given life once more.
Check out #ColonistLife on the Rimworld Subreddit, there are some wacky quirky things.
And mods, don't even get me started on the mods. There is such a vast modding community. Every minor gripe you have, very likely has a solution on the Workshop. Not only that, but there is such a wide variety, from the impressive Vanilla Expanded series, the freaky manmade abominations of Genetic Rim, Hospitality, which basically allows you to make hotels and recruit visitors, to the myriad of overhaul mods that completely change the game into something else entirely. There's even a little mod that adds defection into splinter factions if some of your colonists REALLY don't like anyone else there. The setting is unique enough to be cool and interesting, but also open-ended enough to give modders all sorts of creative freedom.

Absolutely fantastic, perhaps the most underrated game of 2016. Not only is the movement and combat sleek, but each level is particularly designed to be approached in a variety of ways. Don't wanna use stealth? Don't have to, you can go in guns blazing, why not a mix of both? Why not explore a completely different path to your prior attempt. Each environment is like a sandbox, and if you're not sold, then check out a few of StealthGamerBR's vids on YouTube.

Also the art style is sexy.

I didn't expect it to come anywhere close to XCOM 2, but Chimera Squad is a worthy successor in the XCOM series. Gameplay feels much tighter than XCOM 2, and is on a far less grandiose scale than XCOM 2, in both gameplay and setting. Which isn't better or worse, just depends on your preference. Bugs and lag are still present, but nothing game-breaking in my 18 hours of play. From my experience, bugs are mostly just visual. The characters feel distinct and snap together like a jigsaw, and executing clean, complex maneuvers is very satisfying. Overall, I wouldn't put it up on the same pedestal as XCOM 2, but it's a great shift to the formula.
