A challenging puzzle platformer where player control a cat and a butter. The cat can only move left or right, while the butter can only jump left or right except on ice surfaces, where it couldn't move at all. However, if you combine the cat and the butter, the cat could fly everywhere. The goal in each level is usually to reach a special location.

There are a total of five worlds, with the 5th remaining hidden until you complete the 4th world. The first world feels easy, but by the middle of the second world, where the accelerator is the core to puzzles, the solution becomes far less obvious. Later levels introduce more complex mechanics, such as two butters, anti-gravity waterfalls, and mini figures that need to be lured into certain places. I couldn't find walkthroughs so I ended up skipping a few levels, and I was glad the devs allow player to skip levels without punishment.

There are also hidden rooms with extra puzzles and unlockable skins for both the cat and the butter. The boss at the end of each world is easy to defeat, glad to see devs focus on puzzle solving rather than testing action skill. Besides, if you need a break from the main game, there are fun and relaxing mini-games to try out.

Overall I recommend the game. It offers great puzzles with cute characters and keeps a good balance between challenge and fun.

Visually stunning but narratively confusing, the mechanics need updating. I rate this game negatively because it leaves too many questions unanswered.

The game starts off with mind-blowing concepts. Player is asked to take a look at a suicide case using advanced AI technology, which can reconstruct past events from memories and help understand what has happened. In this case, since the person who died was under intense pressure, making it impossible for the AI to fully restore the scene alone, that’s where the player steps in, working alongside to uncover the truth behind the life and death.

Although the exploration area isn’t big, but each place has at least two different time periods presenting distinct events. Players must look at the whole picture, try to connect the events and sometimes, use the pet dog to travel between areas. I enjoyed the moments when the AI gives assumptions on functions of unknown items based on what the player shapes the items into. At the end of the first chapter, I felt like I was reading a BP of a startup tech company.

Visually, the game is a mix of weird yet captivating imagery, with glitchy, broken graphics symbolizing fragmented memories, the graphics have their own unique charm. Some rooms feature surreal exits, like a small dressing room with a ladder leading to entirely different areas, symbolizing a new memory being unlocked, it's very creative and I enjoyed this part of the game.

However, the game mechanics are confusing and often disappointing. For instance, trying to lure the leg creature out of the dungeon in the BDSM club was frustrating due to vague instructions on where to place the human-shaped entity. Similarly, the dog at Johanna’s house could have provided clearer actions when in front of the hand/spider creature, and I nearly gave up when I got stuck at Johanna’s mansion with no on-screen progress bar. The to-do list is more of a briefing than a hint.

The most frustrating part is that the game ends with more questions than answers, I can imagine devs not knowing how to end their game properly. There’s no clear explanation of the Agency or the Company, no clear introduction regarding Johanna’s sister or father, no clear answer if it's suicide or a murderer, no explanation what happened to the AI at the end of the game. Most importantly, it failed to clarity on what exactly info was leaked—or if it was leaked at all,

There are some minor bugs, like falling out of the map or clipping through walls. Since manual save is not supported, if you don’t complete chapter 4 in one run you’ll have to start over.

Overall The Signifier is not a bad game - it has potential and could gain more attention and sales if the story were clearer and the mechanics be more friendly.

A half-hour walking sim game with mild horror elements and a confusing story. Like the store page shows, the primary horror comes from pig people. There are no jump scares.

The gameplay is all around exploring different areas of a house. Each day the player is given access to specific rooms to restore memory, receive a tarot card and encounter pig people, then it's the end of each day. It would be better if the collectibles can be highlighted, I almost gave up on the fourth day because I didn’t know how to open the basement door. It turned out I needed to pick up a tape in the bathroom .

My little acknowledgement of tarot makes it hard to understand the story, but the eerie atmosphere is well set. I recommend it to those who are into horror games.

A simple walking sim with fixed camera views which is reminiscent of older games. Bleeding Roots appears to revolve around a man struggling with the aftermath of divorce, unable to restore his life to normal. However, the story is not well conveyed, leaving much of the narrative up to imagination.

The gameplay is only about controlling a man watering plants in front of the house, in the backyard and in a small garage. The game spans four seasons, and in winter all the flowers die in snow. The game is very short and can be completed in just a few minutes, there are no horror elements or jump scares, but the strange plants and the suicidal thoughts/cuts may be unsettling.

I wouldn’t recommend this game primarily due to the lack of a clear story. However, the fixed camera views are interesting.

A quick warm up of SLUDGE LIFE 2, can be completed in 10 minutes. For achievements, make sure to find the "TO-DO LIST" disk and open it.

The worst PIN codes of all time: '1234,' '0000' and '6969' lol. Love the sarcasm.

If you enjoyed it don't miss the main game!

The gameplay is essentially just collecting objects and then filling colors, like helping a kid working on a color book. However, I found it difficult to enjoy the game due to the extremely slow movement and the toneless whisper narrator. The lines might be poetic, but the constant repetition about the importance of color becomes annoying. I get it okay? Tell me something I don’t already know.

Besides, this walking sim needs a proper UI. The color absorbing/giving UI is located on both sides, yet only a small area can be interacted with, and the text is far too tiny to read.

I can’t recommend this game on today's standard.

I’m giving the game a negative rating mainly due to a game-breaking glitch that forced me to quit halfway. I tried Googling for a fix and searched the forums, and eventually found a post on Reddit from two years ago mentioning the same issue, with another player replying having the same glitch and was looking for a solution, yet no answer was ever provided. I can’t expect the developers to fix it.

Game art style is imaginative. I especially liked the electric sheep with monitors displayed on their sides, they reminded me of a book I read as a kid: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? A classic. The giant electric frog with a glowing belly that lights up when it breathes was both crazy and cool.

The combat mainly involves basic attacks, but the enemies aren’t too tough. The most frustrating aspect of the game for me is the lack of an area or mini-map. Player is constantly required to backtrack to retrieve cards and then place them into card readers. Without a map, the game quickly becomes a test of memory. I had to focus and keep in mind the locations of the card readers because if I exit and return the next day, I wouldn’t remember where to go.

The most disappointing part goes to the game-breaking glitch. In the second totem area, I got a hoverboard for surfing but suddenly my character froze. I exited the game, when I got back the hoverboard was gone and nowhere to be found.

I can't rate a game positively when there’s a glitch that breaks the main story, regardless how good it performs in other aspects.

Just like the first game, the 2nd game revolves around a dark story involving kids murder kids, at the end you get to choose between becoming a hero or a puppet.

Creepy Tale 2 is a point-and-click adventure game with a mix of puzzles. Some puzzles are as simple as two moves, while others can be moon logic. The solutions are usually nearby but you have to guess their meaning, I found quite a lot of levels frustrating or uninteresting. For instance, I can hardly imagine anyone looking at a tree, a dragon, a knight and a castle on a church wall understanding the connection to a four-square rotating puzzle. Similarly, there’s a puzzle about counting lines in patterns. Other puzzles demand a good memory or quick reaction, that swamp near the end is unnecessarily long.

That said, I kinda enjoyed the game’s uncanny art style. Although the puzzles can be annoying, the game is not too long to be unbearable. I rate it positive mainly because of the cheap price and atmospheric setting.

After playing Hollow Knight I thought I wouldn’t dive into another souls-like metroidvania again because I was mad at myself about skills. However, the art style of GRIME caught my eye as it is both amazing and bizarre in a way, and reminded me of claymation games like The Neverhood and Don't Open the Doors!. Eventually, I installed it and had a good time playing  and stopped right before I started getting mad at myself again.

What I enjoyed most is the rhythm of fighting, although you don’t necessarily have to eliminate enemies. Much of the time player is asked to travel long distances, so the best strategy is to avoid encounters by landing in precise spots - since the teleport portals are somewhat limited, this game does feel like a parkour game. Leveling up isn’t too difficult, I mostly add points in health, which unfortunately made some new weapons unusable. The death penalty isn’t too harsh, and the respawn point is not far from the area bosses.

That said, the game isn’t without bugs. Once when I mashed the space key at a corner, it glitched me out of the map and eventually dropped me into a lower floor with an open space. As I wandered around, I encountered an incredibly giant and powerful enemy, clearly a boss, and lasted less than half a minute against it. It was actually fun to see it because I wouldn’t have had the chance in my regular gameplay.

I recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed Hollow Knight and is up for a challenge. If you’re more interested in other elements, I’d suggest waiting for a discount.

A platformer with relatively high skill requirements as there's no difficulty selection and player can’t take any damage. In other words, one mistake forces you to restart regardless how many enemies you’ve successfully taken down, this can be frustrating, but it also makes finishing a level satisfying. You’ll need to refine skills, memorize enemy attack patterns, and be patient. Prepare to die a lot, but don’t get too mad at yourself at least the attack animations are pretty cool. The game features a variety of indoor and outdoor areas, not too fancy but enough to keep me interested, but the motorcycle level is particularly tough I almost gave up halfway. Good luck with that!

There’s an okay story behind all the battles, after clearing each area, you’ll learn more about yourself and the organization you signed up to. You’ll also have choices to either obey or refuse orders, take the consequences and eventually uncover your past. While I wouldn’t say the story is particularly gripping, it does tie everything together, and that scene with the little girl at the observation deck looks pretty impressive.

There’s some replay value too. Once you beat the game, a new vault opens up, allowing you to change swords with keys. Finding the key may require finding a secret path, triggering interesting dialogues and watching funny characters you probably missed on the first run. I especially enjoyed the Season 17 Pikachu joke.

I finished the game in 4 hours with 3 keys. It’s not a long game but worth a try.
