Good mod, the only bad thing is that it's short.

But hey, it's free, so give it a try if you are Half-Life fan.

Fallout... Fallout never changes...

Pros:

- World and level design are superb. Every location is unique, different and detailed. Map is huge with tons of interesting lore and stuff in it.
- Visually it doesn't look that amazing, some models for example look really plastic and bad. But my God some backdrops and environments look amazing, especially when sun rises or goes down. It's just stunning to look at.
- Nice variety of weapons and items, tons of stuff to discover and use.
- Customization options are huge, armors, weapons, even your followers etc.
- Builder tool has a lot of ways to build your home.
- Soundtrack is amazing, some of the songs really hit the right spot.
- Gunplay is decent, but it's so fun to blast someone's head with VATS.
- DLC's are great for the most part.

♥♥♥♥:

- Story. Same repeat as Fallout 3, this time you're looking for your son. And overall, the ending is nothing special.
- No memorable quests or characters. And that's such a shame, compared to NV, this is sad.
- Builder tool is terrible with controls and especially with explaining the new comers how to use it and what to use for quest. For example: you have dozens of categories in which there are dozens of subcategories, quest tells you to build one specific part, but never actually tells you which category to check in. So you either have to Google it or you have to waste tons of time to search each and single one to find out which one you need.
- Loading times are sometimes atrocious, it can take up to 1 whole minute! And that is so annoying where you sometimes have to go from place to place few times in a row. I have a beefy rig.
- A fair bit of bugs and crashes I stumbled upon, but I mean, that's meme at this point for Bethesda Games.
- Biggest sin of them all: simplified dialogue. Maybe NV set the bar so high, but I mean come on, this is so laughable. Fallout is the standout franchise because of so many ways to deal with situations, yet here we are with YES NO SARCASTIC options... I mean, it's hilarious where when you come to someone, say them one sentence like "Go away, this is my home now" and his response will be "Oh ok, bye" and he just goes away, it's so stupid.
There was only ONE (1) moment in the game where through dialogue I had to either spare or kill my friend (won't spoil anything), but that was the only time in the game where I felt 100% invested in situation and had to put some thought into my answers, because situation was complex at the time. After I've done the quest, I said to myself "Now this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fallout, this is how it's supposed to be like" and I was so hyped.
But sadly, that was one and only time I ever got to see quest like that, rest is generic, "black and white" answers, done poorly. It sucks.

As for DLC's, there are 2 main ones that add a whole new map, items, npc's and quests to explore and do.

Far Harbor is amazing, especially the whole island. It was atmospheric and great looking. Storyline and quests are good, except for one quest that almost killed the DLC for me. It's basically a puzzle game, where you need to do it 5 times, increasingly getting more difficult. Interesting at first, but gets old REALLY FAST and it goes on for so long. There's even a mod to skip it, that's how much it sucks. Only if I knew sooner...

Nuka-World is ok, I mean the world and theme are superb, but the story and quests are nothing special. Just you being the boss of the place and gathering up 3 factions in which one at the end betrays you, you kill their leader, the end.

Rest of the 4 DLC's are just minor things, some few quests and stories, but no need maps or zones to explore.

Overall, I recommend this game, even though it has a fair bit of problems. The world just sucks you in, and you want to explore it more and more. Newcomers will enjoy this game a lot, but the hardcore Fallout fans will be disappointed. And for the love of God Todd, please, get a new engine and start from scratch for Fallout 5, please! New engine + NV's dialogue, that would be killer!

I got this game from some bundle I bought years ago, and it has been sitting in my library since then. Recently, as global pandemic is going on and I'm dying of boredom, I've been looking through my library and decided to give it a go.

I'm actually surprised how good it was!

Not saying this game is great or amazing, far from it, but considering it's an 20 years old, kinda obscure game, it really is good.

Pros:

- Level design. Really great looking locations with variety. Yes engine is dated, but it still has it's moments.
- Gameplay. It's fun when you get a badass sword and you start to chop up enemies, you can gib them, decapitate them etc. Runes are fun too to use, mostly.
- Some of the ambient music is really creepy and atmospheric, especially when you stumble upon something cryptic visually.
- Controls are smooth and responsive, platforming was satisfying to me, which is a miracle.

♥♥♥♥:

- Gameplay. Both pro and ♥♥♥, it just gets super boring because you're doing the same thing over and over, smashing one button and running around the enemies, hoping they don't hit you. Shield is useless because by the time your animation switches from blocking with shield to attack mode, your enemy will just be ready to hit you again, they aren't stunned for a second or something like that.
- Graphics are super dated, but not really big of an issue, it's 20 years old after all.
- Voice acting is horrible, except for one boss you encounter later.
- No tutorial or any help at all. I mean, it's not that hard of a game to figure out, it's pretty linear, but there are some sections with a little backtracking and it's one of those games where you need to figure everything out alone, no arrows, no objective markers, no map, anything. I had no issues most of the time, but for the newcomers they might find that off putting at first.
- Story is meh.

Overall, I still recommend this game, just to give it a try, and it's super cheap, so why not?

This game is garbage.

Especially the music. It sounds like the montage music from the 2000's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ teen comedies.

Where do I begin... this game is garbage, plain and simple.

Positives:

- Sound effects, but only because they used them from the movies, so that's not a high praise, because it's basically borrowed stuff.
- Some of the back drops are really nice looking.
- Easter eggs and refferences to the movies.
- First third of the 5th mission, the only mission where it's well made and feels like an actual Alien game! But that doesn't last much long sadly.

Negatives:

- Overall lack of polish.
- Enemy and teammates AI is just god awful, one of the worst I've ever seen.
- Animations are stiff and janky, most obvious ones the aliens. So horrible to look at, it looks like a fan mod.
- Graphics are bad, they don't hold up (except some back drop moments).
- Weapons feel weak and sound wooden, sometimes you need 3-4 shotgun shells to kill the alien, on easiest difficulty mind you.
- Tooooons of bugs, everyone clipping through objects, animations playing wrong sometimes etc.
- Story. This is supposed to be canon, but it's just one of the biggest b******ts ever. Hicks being alive is just idiotic. Plus his voice acting is just terrible, he sounds like he was forced to deliver his lines.
It tries so hard to copy Aliens, all the marines thing and stuff, but you just don't care about anyone. It's so generic and boring, and they do some idiotic things which make no sense.
- Call of Duty. Immediately on the 2nd level, you are introduced to the Weyland soldiers. I mean, I kinda get it why they did it, it would become really boring to just kill Xenos over and over for the 11 levels this game has. But it's really obvious Sega was like "Yeah, CoD is popular, do it".
- Speaking of levels, this game is suuuuuuuuper short. On hardest difficulty, I completed this game in 3 hours and 22 minutes (I actually used stopwatch just to see how long will it take for me, since that was my 2nd playthrough).
- Last boss fight is one of the easiest I've ever witnessed in my gaming life, it's a joke. Boss fights in general are bad, sometimes you can bug them easily so it's hillarious at least.
- By far the biggest offender I have is probably the minor thing for most. 95% of the game you are always with someone, at least 1 person besides you. And every f*****g time aliens and soldiers just focus on you and attack you, no matter if your teammate is 20 yards in front of you, they will ignore him and rush to you. And when you play on hardest difficulty, where sometimes 2-3 swipes can kill you, it gets frustrating super fast. Especially the fact that when aliens come in your face, you lose control of you character for like a brief second, HUD turns off and it shakes you, it looks so f*****g stupid.
The only way they don't attack you or focus on you, is if you let marines be 3523523 miles in front of you, but as soon as you fire a single bullet even in the air, they'll run to you. It's so idiotic.

Conclusion, this game is terrible. I'm glad I'm over with it, just because I'm achievement junkie. Otherwise, I've seen all the reviews and would never touch it. As soon as you start to play, you'll see the overall lack of polish. Everything feels stupid, I can't believe 6 years went into this crap.
Gearbox should just stick to Borderlands, because every other of their games I've played, they suck ass (Opposing Force being the exception).
Don't even get it for free. I'm dead serious, it will be waste of your time.

A suprisingly awesome game! I'm not that big of a fan of stealth games, but man I was sooo hooked and had so much fun with this. Here are the prons:

- Story and world.
- It uses UE3 engine which doesn't hold up perfectly, but the great art style saves it.
- Voice acting is great, for the most part.
- Controls are super responsive, which is I think the most important part in this type of game.
- All the abilities and equipment are great, you have so many ways to deal with all the enemies/situations.
- Giving you the options to deal with enemies/bosses on lethal or non lethal way (there's even achievement to finish the whole game without even killing anyone).
- Skippable cutscenes (95% of them). This may be minor, but I just hate it when developers make a cutscene heavy games and don't give you the option to skip them. For the first few playthroughs, they are fine, but if you are doing achievements where you must replay a game few times at least, it gets so boring and repetitive, so I'm glad they gave us the option to skip them.
- Overall a great polish to it.

Now for the ♥♥♥♥:

- I guess the biggest issue for me of the game are the magic abilities (depends on how you look at it). I mean, they are super fun to use, especially when you get the hang of it. But at the same time, it makes the game super super super easy, even on the hardest difficulty. Even when you upgrade them fully, some of them are just ridiculous and super OP.
But it's so satisfying when you know how to use them and clear the whole room of enemies without anyone even noticing it, so I'm kinda on the fence on this one, this can be pro and ♥♥♥.
- A little more variation of enemies would be nice, there are like handful of them in the whole game.
- Game is kinda short, it took me the first time around 5 hours to complete (not skipping the cutscenes).

Overall, a really great game that I absolutely recommend to anyone, got it super cheap on sale (under 9$), the Definitive Edition which comes with base game + 3 DLC's.

2 DLC's focus on the character from the base game, and show us the different POV of the events of first game. You play as different character this time (I won't spoil anything) and all I can say about the DLC's is that they are even better than the main game! Honestly, this character has minor differences to magic abilites and equipment which makes him so much better and fun to play with. They can be completed both in aroud 3-4 hours, depends on how you play it.

The 3rd DLC is basically challenge mode, no story or anything related to base game, it's just different challenge modes where you have to do specific tasks to complete them (Kill enemies, Assasinate enemies from air, Burglar mode where you rob the house without being seen etc.). It's challenging, especially compared to some games I've played before where they have "Challenge" DLC's like this.
But, this is just my subjective thing, what almost made me kill myself of how mad and frustrated I was were the achievements for this one. I'm an achievement ♥♥♥♥♥, I try to 100% games that I like. And whoever made the achievements for this can go F themselves!!!
For example, there's one achievement where you must complete the whole mission with headshot kills only and 100% clean (that means if you miss even once, you have to repeat the whole mission again). That would be fine if headshots where always registered when I shot the target in the head (sometimes it goes through his head when the target is slightly leaned down, sometimes it just hits him in the shoulder even when you aim the head and many more weird things that happened). Add the fact that game is RNG heavy (enemies/civilians are not always on the same place, everything is different when you play it each time). There are few other achievements here that are simillary hard, I can go on all day to explain them all.
But by far the worst one I've done in a long time, where I lost my sanity was the "By My Hand Only".
It's basically arena mode where enemies spawn in rounds, as the rounds go, more enemies and more varied enemies spawn. Achievement requires you to kill ALL enemies by the round 13 (that's basically the start of infinite round, where there is no end and enemies constantly spawn).
Sounds fine enough, but again, the biggest problem is RNG here. There are some enemies that fight one with another, not everyone is gonna fight just you. And everytime spawns are different, different placement, different enemies. For example, it happened to me dozens of time, I get near the end of challenge and on the other side of me spawns a strong enemy, and next to him spawns the weak one, and that strong one just one shots the weak one like a cake in a second, which makes me fail the achievement. A lot of times it didn't register the enemy I killed as my kill, lots of times enemies would bug out and die etc.
I just hate the RNG thing, just shows you that no matter how skilled you are, you just can't win because "luck" element. It took me maybe 4-5 hours of grind just to get this achievement alone (casually you can complete this challenge mode in like up to 10 mins, just to show you how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is). Absolutely horrible, so any achievement hunter out there, you've been warned! You'll hate your life after. Seriously, I started to get sick of this game and this was the last achievement to 100%, and as soon as I did it, I immediately "alt+f4" it and deleted the game, because I just wanted to finally get over it.

Overall, get this game, the Definitive version, it's a blast! Gonna get sequel when it's on sale soon and check it out, hope it delivers!

I'm going to keep it short...

This game is amazing! Someone said this and it couldn't be more true: "It's like Dishonored but on steroids".

If you liked/loved the first game, you'll certainly love this one more! This one just built it up more on already great foundation. Both of the games and all of their DLC's are great and are worth the price!
Interesting story/characters, visually great, has a specific style going on, level design is superb, weapons and magic abilities are super fun to use, you have sooo many ways to deal with the situation... I can go on and on, but just go and buy the games! I recommend them to anyone, you'll enjoy it one way or another.

Of course there are flaws in everything, but I honestly can't seem to find any here, maybe some super minor nitpicks, but the overall polish and package it brings crushes all those nitpicks and you don't mind them at all.

100% recommended!

So... yeah. After all the years of talk, all the videos I've seen how terrible this game is... I've decided to give it a try. It's not worst game ever, but it's below below average for sure!

Pros:
- The only thing that kinda saves this game: Duke Nukem himself. Some of the lines are cringe and bad, but still the delivery is on point. Voice actor just can say about anything and it would still sound cool!
- Some of the easter eggs and refferences were nice to see.
- Some parts of the game are actually fun, rare but they are there.
- The level of interactivity is great.
- Extras content is kinda cool, it even has a timeline of this game's 15 years of development! Probably the most interesting thing about this game in my opinion.

♥♥♥♥:
- Game visually looks horrible, it aged so bad. Advice if you want to get rid of all the motion blurs and post processing effects, please turn them off, it makes the game look unbearable, at least it did for me. Still, without the effects it looks like garbage, but at least it's bearable.
- Probably the biggest sin for a Duke ****ing Nukem game is TWO (2) weapons limit (4 if you turn that on in the menu, but still game is designed for 2 weapons). I mean, it makes most of the weapons obsolete (the cool shrink gun for example), because the best weapons to use are shotgun and rocket launcher/devastator, so you will be forced to carry those 2 most of the time. This is not Halo ffs.
- Weapons in general feel flat and boring to use, they don't have the meaty sound effects.
- Some lines/dialogue are outright bad.
- Vehicle sections are absolutely terrible, the steering is so slow and janky, and the sections go oooooooon for so long that you want to kill yourself.
- The parts where you get small are cool and funny at first, but get old really fast and you just want to get over with finally.
- One of those games where you feel like it should have ended, but the third act drags on forever.
- Puzzles. Really? Duke should be like "F*** puzzles" and get over it, but yeah...

There is one DLC, and it's a lot better than the main game, but probably because it's a lot shorter (around 2 hours to complete) so the pain is over sooner.

Overall, I would only recommend this to 2 types of people:
- Hardcore FPS fans that have played countless of games and they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
- Maybe hardcore Duke Nukem fans, I'm not familiar with fan base tho, but I would guess most of them reject this game too.

As for the rest of the folks, stay away from this and rather spend your time and money on something else!

After sinking 25 hours into this game, I totally not recommend it!

Let's start with good stuff first:

- Visually games looks impressive, especially the lightning and particle effects.
- Voice acting, motion work and cutscenes are fantastic.
- Gameplay is good, if you played the last 2 games, almost the same as before, but still satisfying (with minor issues tho)
- Hitler scene is just hillarious and amazing at the same time. That and courtroom/execution are highlights of the game
- Few cutscenes and moments in the game which are dark and brutal, I won't spoil, but it's well done.

That's about it, now for the bad stuff:

- Writting. Absolutely terrible, characters are dumb, makes no sense in what they do, dialogue is sometimes cringy and bad. SJW's wet dream to put it correctly.
- Cutscenes. Yes, they are skippable (although not on hardest difficulty, which I still can't fathom why not), but it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Wolfenstein game! I mean, when compiled together it lasts for 3 hours!!! It took me around 8 hours to complete this game on Death Incarnate (second hardest diffuculty) and I skipped almost all cutscenes, and that's because of me dying over and over on some sections, so I assume this game takes around 5-6 hours to complete when skipping cutscenes. It's damn criminal to have that much cutscenes, especially in a game like this, this is not Metal Gear Solid or some ♥♥♥♥...
- Some minor complaints:
Weapon switching is slow, it should be a bit faster.
Movement over obstacles is janky and sometimes bad, I got stuck A LOT. For example, sometimes I couldn't walk up the stairs, I needed to jump on every step to go up, which is ridiculous. It's weird considering I had no issues at all with the last 2 games.
Game had decent amount of bugs too, cliping textures and all that stuff.
Graphics on highest settings looked weird sometimes, like plastic.
No chapter selection after you complete the game, which is absolutely insane and I don't get why they removed it, last 2 games had them and it was perfect. It just sucks if you are after achievements and you missed some, you need to replay the whole game again, which has some of the cutscenes that are in game and go on for 5+ minutes... Super annoying.
- Crashing. Now I don't know about others, this might be subjective, but what killed the game most for me was constant crashing, which was super frustrating and almost made me quit the game. I stopped to count after 10 times, but I would say easily over 20 times in my whole 25 hours of playthrough, game crashed. That immediatly turns me off to even attempt the Mein Leben difficulty (perma death + no saves + NO skip cutscenes). Imagine getting to the last boss and BOOM, game crashes. Fully up to date drivers, with beffy rig (2070 Super GPU), so no lacking on my part.

I got this game on Steam summer sale recently for 8,99€ and I still feel robbed honestly. I'll never support MG's games anymore, my experience was bad with this game, just because of the constant crashing alone.
I still recommend it if you are fan of the series and want to experience it (and even then wait for sale, don't buy it for full price), but don't expect anything great as far as writting goes. For other folks, hard pass.

4/10 score.

Edit 8.8.2021:

So Steam summer sale came in and I bought a DLC, just to complete rest of the achievements.
But first let's talk about Mein Leben run. I did it. After 8 attempts, I did it. It was mostly not that hard, honestly the hardest part is to endure through all the cutscenes... I mean first one takes around 10 minutes, you get a little gameplay and then after that again for the 5+ minutes... It's horrible and mind numbing stuff. WHY NOT ADD THE SKIP BUTTON?! I mean, at least give it for perma death run, for folks who will attempt this A LOT of times.
As for the difficulty itself, the most important thing is to hide in a spot where they can't get you from back and sides. Enemy AI is kinda dumb, but beware, if you allow them to shoot, you're gonna get fu**** most of the times, because they can melt you in half a second, no kidding. Some sections can even be skipped, luckily enemies despawn after you hit next triggers. But yeah, Venus for me was the hardest part, there's lot of tight and smaller areas with tons of enemies, mixed with the hard/big ones. Good luck if you attempt this, you'll need it!

As for the DLC, nothing special, ok at best. You have 3 chapters, each one having 3 volumes. Maybe up to 1 hour max is the duration of each chapter, some even less (stealth ones can be completed in minutes if you know the drill). You play as 3 different characters, that each have their unique abilities (breaking walls, moving through tight vents and the legs that make you taller). As I've said, nothing special, no new weapons or enemies, just basic linear campaign missions.
Aside 3 campaigns, there are sort of like challenges, basically parts of the campaigns, you get points for kills on various ways and you need to progress throught it, just like a mission.

Overall, nothing special, definitely NOT worth the full price, it's barely worth on discount tbh.

So, after years of ignoring it, I've decided to finally play this game... and it's kinda mixed bag for me.

Pros:
- Visually it looks great and still holds up, it ran pretty well on my system, without any crashes or stutters what so ever.
- World is so detailed and beautiful, all the colors, different npc's, buildings etc.
- Elizabeth and Booker's chemistry is great, and she as character is awesome. She can stand on her own plus help you out here and there.
- Voice acting is just superb, everyone nailed it.
- Gameplay is good, nothing mind blowing, but it still serves it's purpose. Running around, using all the Vigors and using the Skyline is pretty fun.
- Overall it's a polished, well made game with unique art style.

♥♥♥♥:
- Story. I'm just not that fan of the "You wake up and it was all the dream" type of things.
I won't spoil anything, but I'm just not a fan of it.
- Game honestly should be shorter and it started to drag for me on the last third, especially the ending. That damn ending... IT. GOES. FOREVER.
- No replay value. Game has A LOT of scripted sequences and dialogue scenes, which are okay for the first one or two playthroughs, but it gets old really fast if you want to play more.
- My biggest killer and biggest reason for lower score is Lady Comstock boss fight. It's such a terribly designed boss, especially on 1999 difficulty (the hardest one). Just terrible, it goes on for too long, basicaly a bullet sponge boss that spawns endless enemies over and over. It was so frustrating to deal with and it almost made me quit the game.

5/10 My final score. I still recommend this game, it's well made, polished, story driven game, that you should try it out once in a lifetime and never play it again.

As for the DLC's, there are Burial at Sea 2 episodes, that are tight and short episodes, which expand on the first games. Ending is really emotional and ties it all up nicely. Around 3-4 hours of content.
Last DLC is Clash in the Clouds, which is basically arenas that you fight waves of enemies. You earn money to upgrade your weapons and Vigors, and you can buy stuff at the museum for the display. There are 4 arenas total, with 15 waves on encounters in each.
Sometimes it can be challenging, especially if you are going for the blue ribbons, which I highly recommend, it's fun. There's no story or anything like that in it, it's just a "challenge mode".

8/10 for the DLC content.
