Finally finished this game and what an experience that was!

The tribute to the older Silent Hill and Resident Evil games was really lovely. I do wonder if the... Special voice acting was another nudge to that era?

The focus on puzzles and atmosphere instead of gore and jumpscares (although both exist) was really nice, considering how many modern horror games focus hard on the latter. The puzzles themselves were, in most cases, really fun to solve and quite clever! There was the odd less pleasant one and did get stuck a couple of times (but this could also be because I don't solve puzzles in games much anymore in general). Storywise I thought it was a pretty intriguing one with a nice twist, albeit it was a little bit tropey and not very original.

Now for the complaints... Uneven sound, I also don't understand why the protagonist seems to be wearing heels in her alternative outfit (not skirt) and patches messing with saves (was able to save mine, but still shouldn't happen). You could possibly add that some puzzles where a little to vague and the camera messed up at times, but both of these could also be explained as the player not being used to playing games like this.

Overall I truly enjoyed this piece and would definitely recommend it for others! Solid 8/10 for a horror game imo

Initially I thought the game was pretty neat, with stunning graphics, spooky ambience and an interesting story. However, in several parts it's too vague as to what you're supposed to be doing and you end up scratching your head while the annoying ghosts make progress harder to achieve since you need to run away from them. You also cannot run for more than 1 sec... Super annoying. The main character should work on his cardio, because it's ridiculous. Lastly, it annoys the living crap out of me that they add auto saves _before_ cut scenes and if you die you have to watch the bloody things again.

The game had potential, but I cannot recommend it I'm afraid.

I do realize that some people have certain feels for Half Life. I never played the original, so that is not the case with me... And also why I intended a full playthrough to sort of get an understanding for this classic. Some parts were definitely fun, but the lack of direction (I never check walkthroughs normally but I had to in this case) and Freeman's inability to just jump when you hit the space bar kills the game for me. Had this been 15 years ago I might have not felt the same way, but I am rather used to modern game mechanics.

Apart from the mechanics I do feel like the world is rather empty, all in all, and I feel like there is a lack of storytelling too. Maybe I'm just being awfully grumpy writing this after not being able to jump to a bloody platform. Decided to not finish the game, because it just gets too much. I do hope fans of the series enjoyed this though.

I wasn't entirely sure as of what I would think of this game, but after playing through it I can definitely say I can recommend it for other gamers. It's definitely not the scariest game I've played, but there were a couple of moments where I screamed like the brave woman I am.

The visuals are absolutely gorgeous and I found the story fascinating, the puzzles were fun even though some could probably be more difficult. It's not reinventing any wheels, and it's very much a walking simulator, but there were enough variations of game mechanims to keep the game interesting and I definitely didn't foresee all of the plot. Not to mention the music. Omg, the music is just mezmerising and I will definitely listen to it more on Spotify. Just magical and definitely made a lot of the game!

Now, all games have flaws and so does this... As I mentioned before, it doesn't reinvent anything and if you want a truly horrifying experience... This isn't it. There were a couple of bugs and gltiches too where I had to restart the game in order to progress. I do also think the price is a little high considering that one PT is just ~5 hours of game time. I know there is some replayability to the game, but I do not think that justifies the price tag.

To conclude:
It's a great atmospheric game with a great story and absolutely beautiful music. I definitely think it's worth people's time, but maybe wait for one of the sales before grabbing it.

It's not a very complex game, but neat! Was pleasantly surprised over how much fun I was having while shooting to the left and right. If you're into this type of games, I would recommend giving it a try. It is also a great game if you don't have the time to play something for several hours... Maybe you want to just stop thinking about work for 30 min? Or, maybe you just want something which is not very deep or complicated? I might add that I haven't encountered any bugs yet so the game feels very polished! Big thank you to Falkenbrew for letting me play the game!

This game is truly something special. I didn't know what to expect when I started playing it, but been passionately playing for hours and hours and got the DLCs since I started it a few weeks ago. There are a few bugs happening every now and then, but they are so minor it didn't bother me.

I don't really find it hard to survive a session anymore, but it did take some time to understand what to do and in what order to reach that point. Loving the music, the survival take and the stories of the characters. Can only recommend, especially if you're looking into a slower paced game that doesn't need 80+ hours to finish.

This game is absolutely adorable. The graphics, music, characters and story are all just incredibly cute. Perfect game for when you want to just relax and enjoy a cute little story. The only things that bothered me a little were the sound for the dialogues and the somewhat strange puzzles (not all puzzles were strange, just a few). Still recommending it for anyone who enjoys this type of game!

Before starting things up, I just want to mention that I am very very bad at horror games. I am quite easily scared, but I still love horror games.

I was following the game on Kickstarter for quite some time and thought it had died, just like Allison Road and other promising looking horror games. When I saw the EA it really made me happy, considering how intrigued I was with the teasers for the game.

The atmosphere and visuals are absolutely amazing and I haven't been as scared while playing a horror game, ever... And I've played a lot of horror games now. The game the has been scaring me the most before was Outlast, but I dare say this one is even worse to me (fav horror game is SOMA though). The story is quite interesting, the little you are able to dig up that will say and the random events are something I really liked. However, I must say that the game is a little bit too easy? You barely need to care about pills and lighters etc (which I think was a big consideration at launch?) and the few puzzles are not exactly hard to figure out either. It didn't bother me too much since I was so scared half my brain was offline while playing, yet I do think an increase in difficulty would be nice.

9/10 - Looking forward to upcoming chapters and pooping my pants again

I got this game after trying out another Indie game, Photonic Distress. I really wish I could set a score to the game here on steam instead of just recommending/not recommending... There are several things I found really nicely done in the game, but I had some major issues which made the game unplayable to me which is why I chose "not recommend".

Pros: It really feels like a lot of effort was made to develop the game, the intro was absolutely fantastic and overall I think the visuals are pretty great. Sometimes the voice acting is great, other times it's mostly cringy. The game seems to have a lot of potential to become a pleasant experience.

Cons: It's not possible to use keyboard and mouse. When I tried it made the camera static and thus it was impossible to play the game. When I played using a controller (XBox) I instead had the issue that my character just kept on walking without my interference which was extremely annoying. The combat system is honestly really clunky and boring in the few fighting sequences I experienced. These things really made me not want to play any further and I hope the issues are patched up in the future so that new players won't experience these things.

Photonic Distress is a surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable game. I have yet to finish they game (which I plan on doing), but solving the puzzles is really soothing for my soul and brain. I loved the music and the whole concept of solving puzzles by using scarce light sources. So far I haven't had many issues with the levels, but I expect them to get more challenging with time. The overall impression was that it's a fun, well made, game that I enjoyed for the most part.

The cons (every game has them):
The slowmo intro: I just didn't get it or how it connects to the game, plus it's super slow.
NPC pop-ups: This is probably what bothered me the most, because you couldn't skip to next slide of info and sometimes the message bubbles merged into walls etc.
