Yeah, nah, not that good.

Not everything is bad. Some of the improvements are really good. The problem is the sum of all changes that did not work well.
I played (and still do, lekmod mostly) almost 3k hours on civ5. I still I can't understand some of the changes they made.
So, basically this review represents my impressions, compared with very good civ5. So much time has passed and I also saw some streaming.
Hence I took my time to buy the complete edition, giving that the prognostics was not that good.
Also, in these past few days I played both games (5 and 6, alternatively) to try to be fair. All in single player too.

Improvements:
-Escort was a nice little improvement.
-Culture tree is nice, with culture having a bigger role in the gameplay
-Game is much more optimized, using much less pc resources.
-Having similar popus being grouped (with little numbers on the top right corners of each) with different messages on mouse hover was another good one.
-Having trade routes to build the roads is a nice little improvement. They had to do this, when they put limited usage for the workers (now called builders, just to confuse us or Idk)
-That "your empire makes history" yellow/goldish big popup when something notable happes is a very good improvement/new feature.
-Having the leader popup to say something and display the very same thing immediately after is unecessary.
-Having the great general to display his area of influence was a nice little one.
-Being able to save a game configuration is really nice. Not having to go through the advanced set up everytime is nice thing.
-Having traders automatically build roads was also a good one. I wish they followed this "auto" moto behavior for other stuff too.

Confusing stuff
-Diplomatic favor: I do not know how they could have done it better. It is just not good.
-O.M.G. what are those graphics? Am I playd a discovery kids game? Too colorfull. Also, Bigger units inside a tile did not work so well.
-Took me a while to understand and differentiate amenities from housing. Yes, I know, not that hard. But having those icons so similar did not help.
-About similar icons: this happens with a lot of them (keshigs and knights, etc).
-I just can't see a plce for Loyalty in the game. I fully understand the concept. I just think it does not work well and should be removed. I will try a few more games to confirm this.
-Why buildings now cost nothing to maintain? Does it cost and it is not displaying? Confusing. They it can be checked out in the yields report. The mouse hover tells us no more.
-In civ5 we had a nice report about the current status of all civs. The new one is not so good.
-Wtf is Era score? Sometimes I think they just added new kpís to make it look pretty on the screen.
-Sometimes, there is so much stuff going on-on the screen that I cant see everything: city bombard defense, as an example.
-Poor balance in Standard speed: most of the times, there will be not enough time to boost the discovery of trees. I had to go epic or marathon to try to have a more balanced game.
-Religion is still useless, kinda like civ 5, kinda like life, actually.
-Terribly ballancend timewise, and it gets worse as we choose shorter games.

It can be noticed that the bad stuff fully overcome the little good good stuff. One thing I cannot decide that is good or bad are the districts. Most of the times, I think it is good, added a interesting level of complexity.
Another times, when I just look at it, it feels unnecessary. I would settle it as a good one. Not sure. If we have round world horizontally

Overall, I really tried to enjoy the game but it was not as satisfying as civ5. They tried to put too much features in one single game. There is beauty in simplicity after all.

Compared with FONV, which was the best.

Overwhelmingly bad: Not enough improvements in overall mechanics, lack of a original story, a "too general" wasteland. Lack of innovation overall.

Kinda good: much better graphics, weapons and armour personalisation blended in very nicely. The new organization of the perk system is very good (the content, not so much).

Just like Metro Exodus: had excellent predecessors but kinda sucks. After finishing the main story,
I'm gonna try all the mods available, they look so nice: hence, I do not regret buying it 75% off.

This is a very painful review to type.

Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light are among the top 5 best games I played in my life so far. I liked them so much, that I got every achievement in both games, just to show off, and the experience was surprisingly rewarding in the process. Anyway, this is just to say that this bad review is not just about general or unjustified hate.

I had to wait a whole year to play the game because my graphics card was bellow the minimum requirements at the time. So, if I ever tried to play it (even at bare minimum set up), I'd get 15 fps. This was the first bad sign. I knew that I would not be able to run the game at ultra or anything "high end" graphics wise, but I'd expect to be able to run it at least with bad graphics. Anyway, I upgraded my graphic cards and the game finally opens!

The open game world they tried to make just sucks. It is a good story (I've read the books), but it did not work so well in the game. I admit that the graphics look very good, but that's it. Everything seems so generic: the locations, omg some of the new monsters just do not make sense in the Metro world. The workbench, that can produce ammo out of anything, this also does not make sense. In previous metro games, we had choices that would costs us very much. In this one, I can roam freely and see just a few monsters, run and reach my objective. I am at my frist playthrough, at the highest difficulty available, and I feel no challenge.

I will continue to play expecting a "generic good" experience, but far from the Metro experience I had in the past. Again, it pains me to write this.

Since I was not already expecting much, I decided to switch to easy to test all maps. I am currently at the sand/Mad Max one, so called Caspian. What was already too bad gets even worse: it looks literally like Mad Max map and with mad max features: scraps and etc (now I see where they got this from). Mad Max is a great game, played it until the end. But this is Metro, it did not blend in well. The story gets even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. When Artyom finds Anna, no emotions, nothing. When he finds a picture of the mother of the lighthouse lady, also nothing. In previous games, the story is filled with emotions. Finding the maps of D6 was very creepy in Metro 2033, even in easy. Finding the damn maps to whatever the ♥♥♥♥, only spiders. No badass cutscenes. Previous metro games had so badass cutscenes!

Damn the last level, Dead City!!! So good. That last level is what metro actually shouldve been the whole game. The end was nice, all things considered.

Simple to learn, difficult to master.

When you start to play this, it seems too simple. But, when you keep playing, the complexity of the game will surprise you.
Good game, good graphics, simple and efficient UI/UX.

Minor bad thing: if you decide to play it on android, you'll have to get a separated account: the 2 platforms do not merge at any point. A good thing can come out of it (chosing different play styles and testing etc) but it would be better to have them integrated (later I discovered that they can be integrated via support ticket, not ideal but at least they do integrate).

Anyway, a very good game for a F2P. I am not really a player of the warhammer games but still this got my attention.
For the emprah!

I see A LOT of potential in this one. But, some balance issues and some UI problems are in the way

Kiiling took a bad turn on this one.

I've been condescending with this game for quite some time. After Ut2004 modding and KF1, I REALLY expected more from this one. I waited a long time and played it a lot before finally coming with a bad review. For the old players from ut2004 and on, astonishing graphics won't do it alone. I gave TW the benefit of the doubt.

It had everything to be "Escape from Tarkov" from monster killing, instead devs thought it would be nice if it was "CO:GO".

Don't get me wrong, I play it a lot. Very nicer graphics, animations etc. It just proves that it takes more than graphics to make a good game. But after a while, it got boring!!

Dumb kids will like it for the micro-transactions and "oh boy look at my skin!!"But for those that had seen where kf came from, the good old atmosphere was left behind. The original dev BY HIMSELF made quite a good atmosphere of fear back in ut2k4. I see why he has moved on from this now. Money talks through this product of a game.
I mean, those sayings with pat's voice in Die Sector are so dumb... really....

Killing in kf used to be more fun. It still is somewhere, not in Killing Floor anymore. I could head back to KF1 or seek a modded server, otherwise not worth it.

Once again, they come up with the same kind of map and tiny things too shoot in the corners of the map. Still not scary as it once was. Random maps with random gore. But hey "here is a nice skin..." A sad picture...

A good one.

Better than Clear Sky but not better than Shadow of Chernobyl. Not so many bugs, rescued some of the good things from SoC. The game itsef is a bit shorter than expected but it end things for the series pretty decently. Good combat sequences, good missions and story.

Shadow of Chernobyl is stll the best one. This one comes right after that. Recomended.

The worst of all 3 in my opinion.

Still good. Better graphics but not so much of a captivating story. Following such a great game that was Shadow of Chernobyl is not good. The ending, Jesus! So buggy.

The game is playable and is not a waste of time, Specially when we think of continue and play the last game that follows.

The best of all 3 in my opinion.

The living proof that graphs are not the major problem with games. Well design levels, good story, simple and effective gameplay. Now I will install mods and continue my fun.
