The one I had the most fun in the series (no mods), yet not my favorite.

There're some really nice quests, but it doesn't come close to the charm of SoC to me. SoC puts more emphasis on loneliness and anxiety, while CoP is more friendly overall.

At the end, I absolutely enjoyed both. They both contain the core principle that made these game great to me : You can rush the story and skip 90% of the content, so it feels really chill doing stuff no one forces you to.


The map of CoP is very open, there're pretty much 4 distinct wide areas (including the tunnel), so it's easy to get accustomed to them.
In comparison, the map of SoC is far harder to get used to, with all the forest, buildings, loading screen transitions and other areas, with a lot more building, trees and map borders making you feel small, which really accentuated the feeling of being lost and alone in a vast world.

CoP's storyline is also quite warmer. You help everyone, gather people to fight together,... It felt quite less lonely than SoC where others are neutral with you at best, and you stay nothing more than a dude that no one cares about until the end.
