If you're still trying to figure out how to hide the HUD in X3TC, just look at the control section of the options. You can configure it how ever you like. I for one just set it to ctrl + spacebar yesterday. Note you can add more than one control option for a setup... I will be adding shift + space to the scheme because of nuanced complexities in my interface and command setup. I hope that helps, and if I'm a bit late, another time perhaps. ;D
