Red Alert explores the alternate timelime which sees the affect of Hitler not being present.

This game's release explores the alternate timeline of EA doing right by the CnC franchise.

I tried my best, I really did, but I simply can't like or recommend this game. Primarily due to its oversimplification of mechanics.

Customisation is minimal, there's no perma-death, most items have infinite uses and there's really no point in killing anything when you can use non-lethal ammo to get the extra intel. Having said that I like how they've done the breach system, unfortunately though some points are blatantly more beneficial to enter than others.
The characters themselves I had no trouble allowing to "die" because they're just so annoying, one of them is supposed to be comic relief but ends up just being a standard twitter SJW with the side shaved head and partially dyed hair.

I guess it works well as a "my first" or introduction into X-COM because the hit chances are still stupid, or as a means to tie XCOM 2 and 3 together but not as something worth full price for.

Great chill game which teaches you various life lessons in a very subtle and clever manner, for example if you jump into the ocean to attack a shark it'll likely kill you.

Every other review here is focused too much on the nostalgia and neglects every other element of the game, and admittedly I was sceptical at first.

When it first got announced I was excited, when the first bit of gameplay was shown I was like "Oh great, another Resident Evil game that will be an action orientied generic shooter where ammo is everywhere and thinks the game is scary because it has monsters in".
Imagine my surprise when I saw hardcore mode, which gave an experience similar to the originals. Imagine my surprise where I shot a zombie 6 times in the head and it didn't die, forcing me to consider running to conserve ammo. Imagine my surprise where I thought a zombie was dead after +6 shots, stabs, only for it to bloody come back alive again and start banging on the door in the room I was in.

Ammo conservation
Survival elements
General paranoia
WTF at every corner

These are the values that haven't been present in a resident evil game since the originals, and yet, Capcom have somehow managed to get it right with this game despite their last few releases. This is hands down, a good game, a great game even. Graphically it's beautiful, everything from the environment to the details of victims being gored. I was afraid it'd be like Resident Evil 4/5/6 but simply put, I was wrong.

My only criticisms thus far of the game is that the voice acting is terrible, to the point where I can't tell if it's a reference to the original or Capcom went to greenman gaming and got discount VAs. It can be really annoying listen to Leon or Claire not really batting an eye to the creatures they've encountered, bear in mind this is their first time encountering such thing. They see a Licker and it's "Oh", "Ah", "What the?", then they see a zombie and it's like "WHOA". But for the most part their attitude is "pffft these things are nothing compared to the dogs of Pripyat". If the characters we play as aren't conveyed to be nervous or scared then it does affect the experience and takes away from the horror element, it's noticeable but can be tolerated.

The game on the 360 is a fantastic experience, this is no different. It's only made better by the fact that the PS3 content is included, which will easily give you a reason to do a third or fourth playthrough. With a decent port and after 10 years of waiting, I couldn't be happier that this got released.

The only thing I can fault is the voice mismatch for Yuri, it can be really weird hearing Troy speak one line only for Grant to speak the next. The difference is noticeable but ultimately doesn't ruin the experience.

Also, don't download the "Adventurer's Pack" on your first playthrough.

As a wise person once said "I say you will do well to buy this game I say!"

Voice acting is Jill Sandwich quality and the audio sounds like it was recorded with a calculator... ahhh just how I remember it <3

This game was ahead of its time, nowadays it wouldn't measure up to the average AAA title but it still manages to tell a compelling story with some downright fun gameplay.

And don't listen to the 60fps kids, 30fps is perfectly fine.

The story this game has is pretty interesting and Android 21 is a nicely developed character, however the way single player is executed is just a massive bore. You have three arcs and when you beat the first one you'll unlock the second one and so forth, however it's incredibly linear. You'll be fighting the same enemies (clones) over and over doing the same thing over and over with next to no variation. Then when you unlock the next arc you get to do the exact same thing over and over again, it'll get to the point where you skip nearly all the clones just so you can fight the stage's boss to progress.
A level system with traits that grant effects like increased exp gained or health regen is pretty nice, but the problem is you'll find a particular combination which just invalidates all the others. E.g I had health regen coupled with health being gained from every hit, all you need is those two (unless you want to trigger the character's phase event which is just a grind).
The gameplay itself is visually appealing, and landing your supers/ultimates is very satisfying but that's as far as it goes. The auto-combo system just ruins the gameplay and it's not because it's "cheap" or anything like that, it just limits you to what you can actually do. I find that I can't mix and match the way I want because the input are too close to the auto-combo inputs so a level 1 super just gets triggered randomly, in the end I managed to come up with my own combos by avoiding certain inputs which in a fighting game shouldn't even be a thing.
Then there's arcade mode which is just a missed opportunity, I would've loved to have seen character specific endings or post completion scenes, pretty much like how Ultimate Marvel v Capcom did it. Except you'll find yourself just grinding to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, if you pre-ordered the game and got the two from the get go then there really isn't much point in playing it. Hardmode in arcade is just incredibly unbalanced, as you progress through the mode the AI will have increased damage, ki gain and reacts to pretty much anything and everything you do, if there's a single frame for them they'll do it. I did a basic 25 hit combo to the AI and it did just under 40% damage, then the AI hit me twice which dealt 30% damage. 6 hits and I was left with half my health left, so if you can't unlock them via the score you're just going to be grinding for the zene.
Online is just broken either that or Hit just keeps freezing time, if you're not getting disconnected then you're pretty much finding laggy games. And when you do find a game it's just some prick jumping up and down spamming the same move (but then that's not Arc's fault).

Wait until it comes down in price or until the issues get patched/fixed.
