Do you like half life? Did you ever wanna be one of the goofy survivors in half life that instead of being the Hero in the HEV suit your actually just MacGyver all the office equipment around the base? And did you wanna do all this insanity using a survival game with skill xp progression through doing stuff? If you answered yes to these questions then this game is for you.

I don't like playing a lot of rogue-like but this game has a lot of heart put into it. The gunplay, sound, and physics are satisfying. Its a gem in the rough and it completely passed me by when it first came out. However a little known gaming critic steered me the correct way. Awesome game.

Resident evil 2 is a masterpiece of modern gaming that takes all the elements it went to recreate and renewed them in engaging ways. Zombies while slow (ramp up speed once in close) are a random element that makes you decide how to deal with them as "how" you deal with them effects your finite amount of supplies you are given. There is a tension that builds knowing that leaving them alive in whatever state you've left them makes a trek through that same place another ordeal you have to consider. Then about mid way on your first play through you are dealt with an adversary that forces you to play differently then your used too further increasing the tension. Some encounters will leave you feeling as if you barely made it out on the skin of your teeth which in turn further increases that tension. This is what makes Resident evil 2 a great horror experience. There is a sense of dread but you have the capability to overcome it and the way zombies act when "downed" further leave you wondering if you've truly taken them out as their bodies lay almost exactly where you left them as a reminder or a surprise.
Capcom continues returning its beloved series to survival horror and this game is the very definition of that.

I'm loving all the too weak too op comments. I'm having fun playing the game again, this is a big fresh breath of air. I feel I'm at fault being caught by the killer and I'm waiting until end game rank 1 play with fully realized builds before anything gets tuned.

As far as a competitive asymmetric game goes this by far is one of the best games I've played in that regard. It uses enough mechanics to allow a deadly game of cat and mouse between a killer and 4 victims: who have no means to fight back directly other then distract, juke, blind or stun the killer.

The killer starts the game with the hardest or easiest task, chasing down each survivor which gets easier up until the last person alive provided some generators have been completed. The killer uses their abilities to hunt the survivors down and knock them to the ground so they can be picked up and offered as a sacrfice to the entity on a hook.

What often is hard for the survivors is to remain hidden and elude the killer which becomes harder to do as the match progresses on. Each generator completed makes one less generator to work on and activate to escape, which involves less patrolling for the killer themselves to maintain. The game goes into a deeper gameplay when one of the survivors is caught because then it becomes a struggle of rescuing the person or leaving them to die which gives you one less person to depend on for your escape.

Resident evil 7 is a game I can finally enjoy as a resident evil game again. I played through Resident evil 5 once. I couldn't even finish Resident evil 6, but this game has returned to format. Inspired by recently good survival horror games, it incorporates and assimilates them into the formula of what makes Resident evil games a resident evil game. And by that we're talking about: bullet counting combat, mild adventure puzzles, and creep factor galor.

You adventure through the baker estate as if it were a dungeon, always being cautious at whats behind every corner. The ui is unintrusive until it covers the corners of your screen with gore to remind you without a doubt you are in a world of hurt. You fix this obscurity by washing yourself in first aid which is quite satifying in which you want to find more of the stuff.

What is sorta new (resident evil outbreak had a character class that could do this) is the protagonist ethan can raise his arms to guard and reduce the incomming damage of an attack. This abilty works well in the first person perspective and its a useful and needed addition when damage is going to happen and you simply are wanting to counter its effect on you. Taking damage is no minor deal either as 3 well placed hits on ethan without guard can kill him with some enemies and difficulties reducing this down to 1 or 2 hits.

I could go on about all the other awesome throwbacks to the entire series (the original trilogy comes to mind) and all the easter eggs but this game is a game worthy of the series name and brand. I actually am thrilled what new resident evil delights will be comming out in the future again.

Welcome to the last great metal gear game made by Hideo Kojima and pushed by Konami. The gameplay is solid, the stealth ops is great and forgiving to novice players while offering difficulty to veterans. The final act of the game is marred only by the shadow of Konami itself which treated its employees like orwellian slaves and one designers inability (Kojima) to deal with a company he worked with for so long. There is great freedom of being this covert commando this time around with large scale settings as opposed to less linear enclosed areas. Your free to sneak, kill, or stun as you go to complete your objectives all the while giving a sense of fanservice metal gear games have given. The ending of the game if to be interpreted is more of a reflection of what konami has become then what they once were.

Fallout 4 is a game I really love and while dialogue choices has gone down in favor for voice over dialogue I still recommend this game. The crafting system and loot had me maxing my strongback perks early on and I was addicted to raiding every raider outpost I could find. Then to make it worse for someone who doesn't mind diablo like games the enemies after a while would refill the once empty places I cleared out so I could do it again having just a bit more shinier items. I did this all the while comming across some intresting quests, some I'd argue more intresting then the main storyline. But then I was compelled to take all the loot I grabbed and use it to make a base and design my very own sanctuary where this game offered something unique in the series. A reason to why I horded all this loot to not only make weapons and armor but a place I could call mine in it. And much like the elder scrolls series it will be modded for the years to come.

So you get onto a server and the first thing you do is level your character getting resources. Then you find a spot that looks secluded and you build there. You get more levels and you really get yourself established. Then at some point you get raided. Hard. You go back to find all your stuff gone and whatever "colorful" additions placed into it. You realize the whole point of the game is for this to happen again and again. You either A: Join a group of raiders and continue this cycle or B: uninstall the game and find something else to play. I went with B.

Alien isolation is a game I've been wanting. Its a deadly game of cat and mouse that tells the story of amanda ripley as she faces what her mother ran into in deep space. Fans who appretiate a stealth game of trial and error all the while dealing with a deteriorating space station and its psychotic AI robots will like this game. If you were expecting a game involving nothing but a complete shooting gallery of alien creatures this game is not for you. If you were expecting a game you can play with friends, this is not for you. If however you like tension and the feeling of being helpless facing things alone I recommend playing it on its hardest difficulty. Its not perfect but it plays on what has been lacking in an Alien game in the past decade.
