A lot of fun, milage may vary with how many friends you have to play with, still a lot of fun solo. When they sort out the buggy connectivity/matchmaking stuff ill give it a strong recommendation.

Update 16/02/24: Ive Played some more, and the servers are completely borked. If they fix that youll play a great game, untill then its a loading screen simulator. The patch today seems to have made server stability way worse.
The Mob spawning is buggy. ( spawns a billion mobs for no reason ) , the armor is bugged (doesnt reduce any damage), the firendly fire reprting is bugged.
SO changing my review to a DONT RECCOMMEND Untill they fix this. Almost everything isnt working.

Changed the review to reccommended. Matchmaking has been fixed for the most part, devs have secured my trust that they will fix it going forward. Still plenty of bugs, but the game is more than playable at this point.

Nope. So many of the systems are super clunky, mechanics are super unclear.
The content is trivially easy with 1 exception: The deadly shroud areas arent visible untill you step into it and it one shots you. Which is super annoying. " Oh look a blue area to explore ....dead. Ohhh that was badly implemented deadly shroud. I died 3 times trying to figure out what killed me till i realised its just bad visualisation. ( which is supposed top be red.) "
So basically took a bunch of systems from other games, and implemented them in a half baked way.

Game needs to polish and fix all that before i come back to it. I might try it again in a year or so and see.

Like r1, but almost everything is improved. If you liked r1 this is a no brainer. Great game.
They game has got some bugs, which can be a lil frustratting, but the team seems to be fixing things fast considering the size of the team. They game is difficult, and that leads to some players thinking the game is bad esp if you come from other soulslikes and expect it to be easy. My suggestion is to play on survivor difficulty until you learn how the game works.

Single worst pathfinding for units in any game ive ever played. 2-3 hours into a mission and you are doing great. and you r dudes will get stuck in a random bit of terrain. and you lose the mission. If i lost because i a mistake i made sure, ill earn and move on, but every time i fail a mission its due to units just randomly getting stuck in terrain.

Only get this if you can live with that. Game has been out for years now, and its sill not fixed.

5 minutes in and im hitting a boss that perma heals faster than i can dps. I mean im still in what i consider the turtorial period.

Game is decent, but unplayable for me as it is constantly crashing. Started of every hour or 2, but now its every 5 min. Unplayably bad.

Love the game, but i cant recommend it. IF you can stomach the issues below, then by all means youll love the game:

Let me state up front that there are many wonderful community members. However:

1) There are players that grief and ruin the game. Rampant alt accounts grief friendly players, blow up friendly buildings, and steal massive amounts of resources and run it up to the enemy.

2) When its not a enemy in sheeps clothing, its your faction, bullying and report spam abusing new players.

So until the Devs sort this out ( which it doesnt look like they plan to) , i cannot recommend this game to a new player.

SO if you manage to avoid these issues, its a great game. Just be prepared to spend many hours in the game.

Bought this back in 2015. Really wanted to like it. Was dissapointed with the really awful controls.
They somehow managed to create a system that when you really want to latch on to ledges than you fall straight past, or when you really dont want to you stick to it like glue.

Came back in 2021. And it feels worse. Sadly the controls ruin the game for me. Combat is awful. Jumping is clunky. interacting with the world is clunky. Ruined the experience for me. A stealth game has no business making controls this clumsy.

I cannot in good faith recommend this game to anyone. Janky, terrible terrain interaction. tiny steps block character movement. Random deployment. Just awful. And im not even mentioning the rng components.
Possibly the worst terrain implementation iv'e seen in a game.

Not as long as the first game, Although my play through took 30 hours. (higher difficulty made it go way slower) Some ppl didnt like the story as much. I can honestly recommend this game if you where a fan of the first one. Low difficulty level is very easy, hence why i played through on higher difficulty, which was frustrating at time. But Ultimately i thoroughly enjoyed my play through.
