Do you like Pink Floyd?
Their early work was a little too psychedelic for my taste. But when Meddle came out in '71, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to King Crimson, but I think Floyd has a far more lighter sense of humor. In '73, Pink Floyd released this; Dark Side of The Moon, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Brain Damage / Eclipse". Two songs so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about someone losing their mind and feeling small in the scope of the universe. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.
