A must play for gamers from the 8 and 16 bits era. The creativity of the bosses make me want to see more of them. Their difficulty got me motivated to improve on each retry. This game is very pretty and sounds wonderful. A great challenge and an unique game.

If The Legend of Zelda and Metroid had a child, it'd be Shantae.
Pirate's Curse is a wonderful entry in the series.

Transformations are gone and replaced by abilities. These abilities are a joy to use in battle and navigating areas.
Speedrunning this game is fun! Specially in the New Game+ mode in which you start with every ability.

The worlds are large if you count the dungeons they contain.
Play it.

Risky's Revenge feels dated and a straight port of the original DSi version.

Movement and input latency isn't as great as other games of the series.
Speedrunning this game is no fun at all and can be quite frustrating at certain parts.

I recommend Pirate's Curse and Half-Genie Hero if you want to jump in the series.
