You'll get so many blue balls you might as well go play Huniepop and relieve yourself of the suffering.

Still a great Visual Novel tho.

Let me begin by saying this is the third time I've reviewed Fallout 4, we've had a rough relationship since it's release this time last year. I've recently had the urge to return to the Commonwealth after several months of not playing and uninstalling the game. The last time I played was shortly after Automatron released, to give you a reference of how long it's been.

The perfect statement to desribe this game would be "An ocean of content, but as deep as a puddle"

Now onto the game itself.

I said in the intro that me and Fallout 4 have a rough relationship, it's essentially a love/hate relationship. There's alot I love about the game, but there's also alot of things I'm disappointed with, mainly the fact that the games mechanics were dumbed down to suit more of a FPS fan then the RPG player. The removal of the Karma/Reputation system from FO3 and FO:NV is the biggest insult, and replacing it with a unimpressive buddy system. Some of the buddies can get a maxed out Relationship with by just picking locks and not using Chems. The other major thing I personally dislike is the removal of equipment degradition, your clothes, armour and guns no longer break from overuseage. They will be 100% reliable for your entire playthrough. Removing this is irritating, considering the amount of Pipe Pistols and other low grade weapons you'll find or craft early game.

-Not a true RPG like the older titles
-Feels more like Bethesdas take on a FarCry title
-Downgraded Reputation/Karma system
-Equipment no longer degrades/breaks
-Dialouge system

That's most of the major flaws I have with the game, I'll go onto the good things now.

First off, the visuals and sounds got a much needed update from the earlier titles, the gunplay has improved, while some may not like this, I personally love the change. The voiced protagonist, if Bethesda keeps this then I could get used to it, I enjoy my character having a voice and being able to interact with other NPC's and companions and the world. Fallout 4 took alot of things Bethesda did in Skyrim, like having a ♥♥♥♥ ton of locations to explore and having weather, Rad storms are random and are glorious to view. Crafting and Building, is definitely one of the best things that's been added to the game, building my own house and customizing my weapons and armor is a blessing.

+Visuals/Sounds are modern
+Improved Gunplay
+Voiced Protagonists
+A ♥♥♥♥ ton of locations and places to explore and discover
+Weather effects like Rain, Fog and Rad Storms
+Crafting and Customization of settlements and weapons

Overall
I'm honestly glad I gave this game another chance, it truly did deserve it. While I think it's not as good New Vegas, (which is one of my favorite RPG's of all time), this is a vast improvement in some areas. I'd say get this on sale if you can, but it's not a sin to get this game at full price. If your looking for a Open World, Action/Adventure Shooter, then this is defintely it. You'll keep yourself busy. For the RPG seekers, you should probably go grab New Vegas or another RPG.

I've purchased this game a total of 15 times for my friends as of the 2017 Steam Summer Sale.

Every seasonal sale I always pick up several copies of the game just to be that guy who's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for giving you this masterpiece.

Game is great, anime tiddies are always better.

Enjoy the blue balls/10

Early Access Review
If you really want to, you can eat Coconuts 24/7.
10/10

But seriously, the devs haven't forgotten about this game and they're still working hard on this game. Worth picking up if you have the extra cash and want something that looks pretty.

The open water has never been more terrifying and sharks are my worst nightmares and I still play this game alot.

The only thing I can say that's bad besides the occasional bug is no co-op yet. But none the less; this game is still super fun and can be time consuming.

UPDATED REVIEW 1/20/16

They just updated the game recently to make the water alot more watery. The game now has waves, more weather and an improved crafting and build system.

This is still absolutely a game worth picking up.

Here's a few questions to ask yourself if your pondering on getting this game, and I can answer some of them.

EDIT: Updated 1/20/16

Is this game worth full price? No, get it on sale.

Is the story good? Meh. It's Merc style game play. (Go here, accept job, go blow up, kill, extract the HVT, rescue the Goat, get payed) However, being a Metal Gear Solid game, it does have a decent amount of story through cutscenes, cassette tapes and random exploration of Mother Base.

Is this game fun? Without a doubt; hell yes its fun. You have two large maps to explore; Afghanistan, and Africa, dotted around these maps are outposts and large bases that are fun to infiltrate and attack in many different playstyles. This game supports any style; be it completelty stealth, guns blazing or just use a Water Pistol. (Not even joking about the last one)

Is it a good port? Yes. This game is NVIDIA friendly but runs well with AMD products. But none the less, the game runs and looks super pretty on PC.

8/10

WITH REGARDS TO METAL GEAR ONLINE 3
It's a hit and miss. There are alot of flaws with the Multiplayer but it does have moments where it's super fun. But it's still not better then MGO2

PS ♥♥♥♥ Konami
I can't say that enough.

I stabbed an enemy soldier in front of an enemy medic, he continued to heal me anyways then got slaughtered by my team. Words were shared, then the server voted to kick me. It failed, next round I did the same thing, they all left.

10/10 would get healed by enemy team again

The 2nd time I've bought this game (I owned it on 360) but truly this game has so much replay value in it. I've been following the franchise since 1998 with the original MGS on PS1. But back to the review, this game is honestly worth buying if your a real fan of the series and will be picking up The Phantom Pain in September. There's one story mission that has you extract two VIP targets. There's also many other missions including Deja Vu for veteran players.

Pros-
Decently large size map
Lots of Replay Value
Stealth in this game is better then most other games
Fantastic Port with some very minor issues
Easy controls for Keyboard and Mouse (Has controller support)

Cons-
It's a payed Tech Demo
Single story mission

Conclusion-
This game is more for die hard MGS players, if you want to get into MGS then I'd pick this game up when its on sale and looking for a fun stealth game. Easy to pick up and kinda hard to let go.
