I haven't played any Total War Games in a while.
So I was reaaaally confused xD
But I don't wanna waste your time reading a 5 min long review,

quite the spooky experience

japanese culture + vhs horror go along well

will take about 2h to finish this game, so decide wether it's worth the money or not

but it definitely was scary and it managed to maintain a constant feeling of unsafety

they also fixed the staircase glitch (which i read about in the reviews before buying it) so i had no problem with bugs at all

i can recommend this game, because it made my heart beat hard ye know and the story is done very well

Hello there,

Before I start this review, I wanna let you know that I'm someone who only buys Fifa once in a few years. Since 1 year gap just isn't enough time for a game to really change, I just don't want to waste money on a copy. The last Fifa I played was Fifa 18 on PS4. And I honestly only play the career mode. I'm not your average Fifa player sorry :) I've only played FUT a few times, but I'm not a fan of it. So this won't be a review blaming EA for letting people pay to win.

Let's go

Just as many others of you I played the intro match. Liverpool vs PSG. Which already gave me a big insight of what's new and what's not. Something I noticed right away was that the graphics look exactly the same as Fifa 18 on my PS4 lmao. The players have the same dead eyes and missing personality as always. I was a bit shocked that the graphics are so underwhelming even on PC. But I guess that's the way to maintain good performance.
The next thing I noticed was that the mechanics feel less accurate. I didn't have the feeling of full control anymore, kinda like the players are following their own will once I control them ^^. Perhaps EA simplified some features. AI defenders of my team also kinda feel stiff, not really covering the area they should. In Fifa 18 they were more independent once I took control of someone else. The new freekick is interesting though. (idk if it was in Fifa 20 already xD) I suck at freekicks so that new feature might improve that lol. But also feels like things are made easier so the game applies to a wider audience.
Also: Why doesn't Fifa include PS4 controllers on PC yet? I mean I memorized the buttons anyways, but still. Ubisoft for example detect it right away and displays the right buttons.
The design is the same as in all the previous games I figured. Simply different colors, but that's it. Honestly have to say that Fifa 18 looked better regarding the menus and stuff.
The commentators are still annoying me lmao. I usually have them turned off.
What's epic of course are the current squads and players updated ratings. In my old Fifa 18 career I was in 2025 and Haaland was a nobody lmao kinda sad :( So I'm glad to have him with his actual skill now.

I haven't tried the career (as manager/coach) mode in Fifa 21 yet, so I will update this review in a bit

Edit: So I've played some career mode now. I like the improved features for young players and scouting them. The plans are kinda cool and improve their skill passively while I can do other things.
And oooh you can edit your character epic!
And dang there's a lot of new stuff besides that. You can plan your whole week schedule, reminds me of UFC. I like that. But you have to pass the training yourself in order to simulate it with higher results ;P I suck at training. But once hitting that A, and they'll always get there again during simulation.
And you can actually talk to your squad, like answering their messages. That's the kinda stuff I wanted. Press conference also lets you be there in person and finally understand what the purpose of it is.
In general I have to say that this gamemode got a sweet new look and it makes it much more realistic and immersive. Usually I had my match time to 4min, could finish a whole season in a few days. But now all the additions lead to a much longer experience.

Well I'll explore some more during my 10h trial and then decide wether I buy it or not. But I hope I brought some vital information to you.

Facit:

If you're not playing FUT like me, you might not want to waste your money on the new Fifa every year. Either buy it on sale or just wait a few more years and enjoy the older ones, which have the same graphics. But since Fifa 21 has juicy new stuff in the game mode I love in comparison to the last part I played, it definitely could make me buy it. ( not for the steam price thooo ;)))

An unfinished but truly realistic sword fight game

I got it right after release, I've seen it in one of Skallagrim's video and knew it was my kind of game :D

Cons (IT'S STILL EARLY ACCESS! MANY THING WILL BE ADDED / UPDATED IN THE FUTURE):
-no sandbox
-only local multiplayer (so far)
-only two gamemodes (so far)
-only one fat guy
-glitches (for instance the shoulder dislocates in a weird angle)
-no customization (not that I needed it, but many other people do)

I honestly only mentioned things that will be fixed and added by devs in the future. They're planning to relase a story mode for example and new characters are also already in the making. It is an epic game and every fight is special on its own, The game physics make every sword swing behave completely different than the previous one. Can't wait for MP !

So should you buy it?

If you're a fan of medieval stuff (or basically everything before we had guns) then you should check it out. They offer a free demo which lets you get an idea of how the game works. Right now it's honestly nearly what you get offered in the full game. If you want a finished game with a lot of content, then you should wait before buying. But if you want to support the devs troughout their early access phase, drop the few bucks and get the game :D
