This is exatcly what you should not do when you remaster a game.
- It's a good idea to offer a "new" camera system. But you should also fix the classical one. It's still bugged : you can't rotate while traveling.
- The message system is a good idea, but badly implemented. Let's say you want to use it to review all the cities that have finished a building. If you want more info about a building, then the list won't reopen again and you will have to navigate through the message system to reopen it. In classical RTW, it was a ONE clic system : just close the city sheet and the list opened again.
- Total war has 5 different cities interface. The Rome/medieval 2, the shogun/rome2, the Warhammer/Troy, the Three kingdoms one and this Rome Remastered one. Each of them presented pro and cons. But this Rome Remastered is the worst of all. The buttons to build or recruit are detached from the city screen and the icons for buildings and troops are so small that even on the biggest UI possible, it's barely visible.
- The battles require as much GPU as a modern total war. What a shameful display.
