I always thought this game looked cool, but always found a reason to talk myself out of it.

I just wanted to write something brief for anyone else on the fence. It's a lot of fun, very addicting formula, satisfying meta-game of upgrades, and great long & short term goals that keep you wanting to play just one more match every time you finish one. I'm so glad I picked it up!

I can't wait to see what's next for this game and anything else the Devs do. Keep up the great work!

I hope we get to see Housemarque return to this formula.

A game that has stood the test of time by lasting more than four days.

Very cool that they came back to the 2D space. This is going to be my new go-to game for the Steam Deck.

Proof that menial work becomes more fun with friends and danger.

I played the demo and liked it but never thought about the world more than it's your classic Artsy Boy Climbs Gigantic Facade story. My appreciation and enjoyment of this world grew substantially once I learned more about those that inhabited Jusant before you.

I don't want to be reductive and compare this to anything else, other than to say it's an incredible journey.

Intuitive puzzler that never challenges you too hard, but always feels rewarding for getting things right. Highlights:

• Gorgeous art style
  
• Impressive boss fights I was not expecting
  
• Has several "it" moments

The conjecture surrounding this game has been more annoying than any game in recent history. I've never seen so many people banned on the Community Hub before for ranting about gender identity politics and god knows what else. Anyone who unironically discusses this game's wokeness, you are a joke.

The short version here, this game is great. I think it's a lot better than what many review outlets give it credit for. This is the same Bethesda RPG format that you know, for better or worse. If you like Skyrim or Fallout, there's no reason to think you won't enjoy this.

I really only have three major criticisms that I would like to share.

1. The camera jolting to a perfectly framed companion when they have something to add to the conversation is so immersion shattering. It immediately reminds me that I am in a video game. I almost prefer it when the camera goes crazy with people in the way of each other because at least it's funny vs. painfully awkward. I know this is not an easy task due to all the factors involved in how you start any given conversation, but any attempt to make this feel more natural would be great.
   
2. The [Flirt] dialogue options felt like the worst thing to say to someone when they first started appearing. I wanted to engage with this part of the game, but I constantly laughed out loud at the prompts. Apart from this, I would say the funny prompts are actually much better than other games that do this, so I definitely laughed with this game more than at it, but it felt like this needed to be acknowledged.
   
3. I'm sure folks will have lots of complaints about the game's UI. I have less issue with the inventory aspect of the UI, but any time I engaged with the Ship or Outpost building it felt like I had to contort my hands as if I was playing a hand-simulator game. The buttons all just feel so unnatural. I'm sure it may click on a controller but it felt awful on keyboard.

I'm sure there will be plenty of discourse surrounding Starfield vs. Baldur's Gate III. I just want to add my two cents that Baldur's Gate III is the better RPG, Starfield is the better sandbox. They are both incredible and deserving of your time.
