A rogue-like that doesn't feel like it. Neon Chrome oozes style, substance, and is insanely friendly to the player. Everything is simple and clean, with a great soundtrack, brilliant use of color and a firm grasp of the cyberpunk aesthetic. It's addicting and great fun, with the ability to pick up and play as you need to. You're not punished for needing to pause, minimize, or take a break and that really pushed it over the edge for me. It was a game that let me play it.

Despite all the pros, some of the ♥♥♥♥ are that some character classes feel definitively better than others, and that is the case with some guns, skills, abilities and modifications. There are a few I've never used and probably never would, even if I grinded to Overseer 100.0. Overall, when you find out what's good and what works you begin to enjoy the game three times as much as before and you're driven to starting from level 1 to make that badass character one that wipes the entire Neon Chrome megaplex.

I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys rogue-likes and those who may be able to tolerate a unique take on one while diving headfirst into the rainy neon grit of a proper cyberpunk universe.

I'll start this off by saying that the first ICY was not a game I enjoyed very much. It was needlessly difficult, clunky, and obtuse and I gave up on it after a bit.

Frostbite Edition fixes literally everything. Bugged dialogue, broken or wonky features, an adequate difficulty range, interface fixes that are so massive it makes the game feel like a proper sequel. The combat system is really great, too, different but it services the game well. I never once felt unsatisfied whereas in the first iteration of ICY I absolutely hated combat, I avoided it at all costs and ended up uninstalling due to how user unfriendly it was. In the Frostbite Edition, I was actually sad that I didn't get more game to play. Between the exploration of... icy landscapes, the characters and their stories, the quests - not a single cylinder isn't firing on quality here.

The only thing I could think about being added is a genuine system dedicated to companions. Romances, friendships, rivalries. The individual bits and bobs about the characters are great, though the randomized nature of the game at times makes it seem like you can miss things before the final battle and, potentially, lose a companion you have kitted out with valuable gear.

It's an indie title with a lot of heart, and it's clear a great deal of effort and care went into its creation. I recommend it if the premise looks even vaguely interesting.

Thus far the only Early Access game to prove to me that the concept is worthwhile. While gameplay often is left too much to chance, constant streams of updates and developer transparency coupled with the game's brilliant art style and aesthetic more than make up for it. Every victory is a struggle, every loss a major setback. This game doesn't have to force you to care, it let's you grow attached to your varied pool of minions and dares you to gamble their life for the sake of treasure, glory, and satisfaction.

I can't reccomend this one enough. Not for those who get frustrated easily.

Plagued by the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in every single multiplayer FPS survival game, RUST showed promise both before its reboot and noe with the new game direction. Though at this point one must wonder: when will it show its polish? The developers have done great work despite a volatile, graceless, thankless community of Nazi gremlins but I hope to actually see RUST reach the heights most of these games don't get to - and its not quite there yet.

The high point - maybe the true 'end' - of the Call of Duty series. The multiplayer elements were perfectly in sync for years, but hacking is a problem as it often is with older games.

The story eclipses the grounded CoD1/UO and CoD2 stories and builds upon MW1's Black Hawk Down generic stop-the-Russian-bad-guy beats and instead sucks Michael Bay's slop right off the rod. This game is essentially a love letter to his set pieces from The Rock.

It's good, but mainly because the villain of the series turns out to be the American war machine itself and that's really what makes this series memorable: it isn't a villain-of-the-week and instead it's two superpowers (Russia and the US) being manipulated by a man who vaguely resembles a chipmunk who loves war so much he'll blow his own country up to facilitate a Forever War.

The best Fallout so far. Superior in almost every way from its predecessors, its only major flaw is not allowing you to screw up as much as you could in games prior. Breaking away from the hackneyed writing popularized by the romance-allergic Chris Avellone, Fallout 4 builds the Commonwealth into a wasteland I've been itching to visit since 2008.

One of the better Choice of Games titles, I wasn't instantly hooked by this one. After about thirty minutes, I found myself wanting to do nothing but play more and I spent the entire day going through for the ending I wanted, then doing several others for the fun of it.

Jonathan Valuckas is a very engaging writer who has a fairly passive voice which allows you to project a lot onto your character, as well as the others. Leaving out overwhelming exposition and hyper-detailed character descriptions he instead focuses on the essence of people and information-as-it-comes in a fantasy universe which is both intriguing and accessible.

If he does more, I can't wait for them. Either way, I felt that this was well worth the purchase.

A lovely atmospheric game with gorgeous visuals, pacing, music and voice acting. Tense and self-reflective, I enjoyed every moment of it from beginning to end. I can't recommend it enough, although this is no Hideki Kamiya game - the gameplay is second seat for the player. It can be slow and quiet at points, just like nature.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate going outside - and I hate the summer. But this game made me want to lie in a national park and consider how to un♥♥♥♥ my life.

Wasteland 2 is... interesting. Built on a flimsy engine with stilted voice acting more common in games almost twenty years ago, Fallout this is not. It's not bad, per se, but it's not good. It's a game you pick up in the bargin bin, or during a Steam Summer Sale and enjoy it, beat it and never play it again.

After about two hours the lack of atmosphere, debatable story and uninspired psuedo western apocalyptic setting (snoresville) I uninstalled. Not because it was bad, but because I have a LOT better games to go play.

Good if you don't have anything else. Otherwise? Just pick up A Fallout entry. They have more soul, humor, darkness and cohesion as a whole. Chris Avellone is infamous for his hokey, stilted writing and this game is no exception.

Save it for a rainy day.
