I really wanted to like this game, but it desperately needs content. Planet exploring is fun but after a while they all start to look the same, and when finding new animal species you very quickly realise that they are made up from the same bits and pieces randomly stitched together.

The majority of your time in NMS will be taken up by grinding for resources and inventory management which very quickly gets repetitive. And the ending, when you finally reach the center of the galaxy, is just insulting tbh.

I've heard this game described as the size of an ocean with the depth of a puddle, and that's exactly how I feel about NMS. There's so much potential here, but that's all it is, potential. I'm still hopeful that the developers are going to continue working on it but I have a horrible feeling that they're going to take the money and run. There is a thriving mod community who have taken up the mantle of fixing their game for them and if you decide to buy NMS you definitely need to pay them a visit. http://nomansskymods.com/

I cannot recommend No Man's Sky at the current full price of £39.99, it's a great tech demo with loads of potential but wait for a price drop, £15 should be about right.

Well how about that, the recent updates have changed the game to a point where I can finally recommend it at full price. I've never been happier about being wrong, Hello games have worked hard to redeem themselves.
