Im no expert on dragon age lore, so i cant comment on if its a good dragon age game. But Veilguard is a really good rpg, with an interesting story and charming companions. Some of the writing could be improved, but its not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. The combat system is super fun and very well done. Had so much fun just fighting in this game, that i probably finished like 85-90% of all side content.

The best action adventure franchise now finally on pc to enjoy in ultrawide @ 100 fps. Great characters and writing, superb visuals and a lot of action. This game is from 2016 and still looks better then some AAA games released in 2022, the story/writing and gameplay are still top of its class. The search for Henry Averys treasure is the best chapter in the Uncharted franchise and a fitting ending to Nathan Drakes story. And if thats not enough the fantastic Lost Legacy teams up Chloe and Nadine and tells a terrific story with the same qualitys as Uncharted 4. Uncharted is my favorite Naughty Dog franchise and i can't recommend it highly enough.

The game tries a new take on the survival genre. It is a good game, not great but especially with friends you can have fun.
Would like to give this game a thumbs up but the optimization is really bad. 5800X, 3080 and 16 GB of Ram and when I host i get <60 fps on medium settings even with dlss quality. Solo play you get much better fps but the worst part is, that I constantly get the "out of video memory" error, even when GPU memory usage is "only" at around 90%. This even happens when playing on medium settings with dlss. Since steam refused my refund because i played more then 2 hours i just have to hope the devs eventually fix the game, but after seeing in other posts that the memory error was in the game since beta, i have little hope.

This definitly is one of the best games released in 2021. It has a great story, superb writing and performances by the voice actors, cool setpieces, amazing music and a LOT of fun banter, what more could you want.
What suprised my most is the variety over my 18 hr playthrough, it really never repeats itself even when u visit a location again, cause there is always a twist. The crew comments on alot of things you do, they even call you out if you run into a dead end, close a fridge etc. This could get annoying but the game manages it well with great writing and performances by the actors. Because of this you really get a emotional connection to your crew and the story uses this well. If you want a great singleplayer experience get this game.

Plus it has no ingame shop, you have to search/earn the cosmetics.

I never really disliked the game at launch like so many others, even then i thought it was a fun but rather shallow game. But with all these updates Hello Games added so much and turned this game into one of the best sandbox games out there. Cant wait for what comes next in No Mans Sky.

Update Review Season 8:
So after some changes from Respawn to the BP it's now less grindy. For my taste it is still to grindy and i hope for some revamp to make it easier to complete the pass (something like destiny), but if you go after the challenges, dailies etc. you can complete it. Since the core gameplay is still alot of fun i can give this now a positive review.

Original Review Season 6:
First of all: I have 600 hrs in Origin in this game and this is probably the best Battle Royale Game Gameplay wise. Sure the TTK is a little to long (Red Evo Shield) for my taste, some guns and heroes need some serious rebalancing and SBMM in normal queue should be looked at, but overall its a lot of fun.

But there is sadly a big catch: In the previous Seasons they had a rather fair battle pass (BP) progression system, which needed some tweaking but overall it was not that grindy. With the new season (Season 7), they cranked the grind way up for no reason at all. Respawn absolutely crippled the BP progression from XP, completely and utterly (probably to force you to buy battle pass levels). Weekly progression gains is also worse (while being more grindy then Season 6), while only the gain from dailies is slightly increased, but the dailies are also way more grindy and it still doesn't nearly make up for just how much less BP levels you get from XP. It seems that you pretty much have to play a lot more daily (and not, you probably cant miss many days) and go out of your way to do your dailies or you have no chance to finish the battle pass in these 10 weeks (seems also less then before btw).

Also EA Play Pro doesnt reward you with the battle pass anymore.

Edit: Because Steam didnt let me put up my longer review originally, here are some added pointers from the steam discussion forum where and how much the grind was increased:
- In Season 6 for the first 135k XP of a week, you'd get 5 BP levels. Now you get 1.3 levels.
- In Season 6 if you play enough to hit the XP cap for the week, you'd get 2 BP levels for 108 XP. Now you get ~1.1 levels for the same.
- Weeklies used to give 3 BP levels and 24k XP and 2 more levels for the recurring weekly. So 5 level without the XP gain alone. Season 7 gives 3 levels straight up, and 16 stars (1.6 BP), or 4.6 BP. Doesn't sound to bad you could say, but the grind for the weeklys got increased by like 2-3 times, so its even worse. Plus you miss out on the bonus XP what is almost half a level if you were at cap in Season 6.
- Dailies used to give 10k XP. Now they give 0.8 of a BP. This is the only increase, HOWEVER, the dailies are now WAY more grindy. Only very few are the same as before, but most ask for about 3-5x more than they used to do.

The story is entertaining so far, its not groundbreaking or anything but solid. The Game runs way better then in beta. I crashed very often in beta, but dont crash now and can run it with high settings in 3440x1440 at 60 fps. The combat in the first hours of the game is fine, but for me it gets better a few hours in when u unlocked some of the skills. Chaining dodge and counter combos with the fast heroes is really fun. The off screen notifications for incoming attacks need some work but that isnt gamebreaking. Overall a really solid game that is really fun to play with potential to get even better in the future.
Also there is tons of fanservice in this game if you are a marvel / avengers fan.

Valve returns to the Half Life Series in a stunning entry. This is easily a contender for Game of the Year and probably one of the best Shooters in recent years. I intentionally dont write "vr shooter" or similar, because its just an magnificent game, which is enhanced by vr.
The ending is incredible, only in VR could this ending be this impactful and immersive.
Thanks Valve for another incredible half life game, hopefully we wont have to wait another 10+ years for the next entry, although it was worth the wait. Its a truly worthy entry in an immortal saga that have contributed to mark the history of gaming.
