Here's the thing you need to realize, Burke and Weyland Yutani hand picked the crew for the LV426 mission. They knew it would be pre destined to fail. Ripley was the only witness from the Nostromo events that encountered a xeno making her a threat towards Weyland Yutani. They chose Gorman because he had zero air drop and combat experience. A docile android named bishop would be useless in combat.They chose a seasoned, but old Apone to lead a bunch of grunts who were expendable. All for the almighty :Fistofdosh: !
