Love this game to death. Essentially a love letter to survival-horror with lots of references and familiar set pieces. Despite how simple it looks, I really enjoyed the entire aesthetic of the game. Not to mention the satisfying gameplay and bonus modes, which provide lots of replay value. All that for only $5.

Super addicting game. Art style is just great and the gameplay has a very satisfying loop to it. The story is pretty engaging. Lots of funny moments that can happen with your followers as well. Probably the funnest game to 100% I've played so far.

Wow. I'm not sure how they did it, but this game is incredible. Definitely a great take on the original that is worth experiencing. As a long-time SH fan, this game just hits all the right notes.

Amazing game bringing survival-horror back to its roots. Oozing with atmosphere, puzzles are engaging, and combat is tense.

I've had recurring nightmares of computer viruses all my life, it's uncanny to be playing a game so similar to them.

Still one of my most favorite games of all time. This game is pretty nostalgic for me too, strangely. I played it when it first came out on PS3 and loved every minute of it. Still do. The graphics are impressive to this day, as well as the cinematics that just really get your adrenaline pumping, especially when you get thrown around in space by giant necromorphs. The overall aesthetic is just amazing too. It has one of the coolest art styles I've seen, with the mixture of bulky engineering machinery, to cyberpunk esque suits that just look SO COOL. Gameplay is still top notch to this day, one of the best over-the-shoulder games right up there with Resident Evil 4, and it improves on RE4 with all of it's extremely satisfying mechanics like stasis and kinesis. Still never gets old dismembering huge packs of necromorphs while they fly around in slow motion. One other fantastic thing about it is just how deep the lore gets. I still end up finding new aspects of the story that I missed, and whenever I play through it, the story always gets very intense for me. Horror is also done extremely well, the feeling of being overrun is always panic-inducing, as well as those moments when you don't have much ammo and you're just dreading whatever is around the next corner. The hallucination and insanity aspect is also very interesting and well executed, it's always interesting seeing just how crazy Isaac's visions get, and the angry snaps between him and Nicole are pretty thought provoking. Aside from the game itself, though, the port is kinda weird and you might need to check online to figure out how to fix some issues with it, namely the DLC that is already unlocked and definitely ruins new games with how OP everything is. Highly recommend disabling it with the patch before playing.

All in all, you should absolutely check this one out if you want a REAL horror-action game that is executed well in every aspect!

Oh yeah, and screw EA for closing Visceral...

To go ahead and clarify, I'm just going to add that I've already beaten this wonderful game countless times on PS3, and getting it on Steam was just as worth it as getting it there, with the addition of mods and such (and that badass Randomizer). This game is undeniably a classic at this point and it's pretty great Capcom decided to port it because I never was able to play it when it was on GameCube, as much as I wanted to.

To put things short, this game is a real piece of art. Every single shot and angle looks 10 years ahead of its time for a 2002 game, and yes it looks just about as good on the original GameCube. The setting, atmosphere, and gameplay all create a tense and macabre experience that will really make you plan out your decisions, especially with the addition of crimson heads. If you go through this game guns blazing, you will surely end up dead pretty quick. Even if you try to fight your way out, it will just make things worse for you. Almost all the zombies you defeat will come back stronger and more horrific unless you take certain measures. It's all about resource management, and it works behind the scenes in a way that you don't even notice. You will find yourself debating whether to use your ammo and/or health to take out enemies on one side of the mansion, or take another route on the other side. However, even that one little route that you took for avoidance could have its own enemies show up soon... and unexpectedly. As the game progresses, so does your sense of dread and anxiety. I love every second of it.

This game is yet another true display of how to remake a game, second to only the remake of the first game. Although one might say it's more of a re-imagining of the original, despite that, this game still keeps all the same feelings the original had. I had a real joy playing this game, seeing as how I had already beaten the original countless times in anticipation for it, and thankfully, despite some of their recent fallbacks, Capcom REALLY delivered here. The game is jam-packed full of little references to returning fans, and you can just really tell that this game was made with love and passion. Somehow this game even still had that feeling of nostalgia for the original to it.

To sum things up, the game does it's horror really well here, and uses a lot of the same techniques as it's predecessors, but in a way that truly feels new and refreshing. It represents Survival-horror in one of its greatest forms, and will surely have you just dreading what enemies lurk around every corner. Even after replaying this game enough to have sixty hours at the time of writing this, I still found myself jumping after a particularly scary event. With that in mind, even the locations that were also found in the original just look downright amazing in this game, and this might have some of the greatest graphics I have ever seen. Just like the remake of the first game, this game also expands on it's locations and themes, and it really does it just great, particularly the sewer section was redone REALLY well. With classic enemies, and even returning enemies that were redesigned, the game surely does not lack in its share of horror.

Absolutely recommend this game to anyone looking for an amazing Survival-horror game!
