In the first two hours, Dredge pulls you in with its Lovecraftian charm—foggy seas and unsettling vibes—that's where the magic peaks. After that, you're stuck in a repetitive loop: sail out, catch fish, return, sell, maybe upgrade, then do it all again and again. It's simple and wears thin fast.

Wilds does have its improvements, but after weighing the additions and subtractions, I still feel the shortcomings outweigh the gains. I don't mind if developers simplify the systems or reduce the grindy farming elements, but in return, they should provide enough content to fill the gaps left by these changes. By comparison, some of the features I loved in World—like photo quests, treasure hunting, and room decoration, among others—have all been removed this time.

I'm not sure if the vertical map design is a good direction in the long run; all I know is that its current implementation feels incredibly confusing.

The optimization is terrible. Even with all graphics settings maxed out, the visuals still don't meet today's standards.

It feels like they're trying to replicate World's long-term update cycle again, deliberately delaying the release of some content at launch, so it seems we'll have to wait for Wilds to get an Iceborne-level expansion to address its current shortcomings.


Still, despite all my complaints, I gave it a positive review—because the Gunlance finally gets the justice it deserves!

The immersion in Red Dead Redemption 2 is unparalleled; the combination of storytelling, visuals and sound design makes you feel like you are part of the Wild West.

It's a story-driven turn-based tactical game,
but the storytelling is really bad.

It's also a heavily stealth-based game,
but there are no upgrades that match the enemies as the game progresses.

This game is purely based on luck, not requiring much skill or strategy, just like a slot machine.
It engages the dopamine mechanism to make people addicted, which I believe is unhealthy.

I'm not a fan of the creature designs in this game, but I do like its mechanics, which show an example of the improvement that modern Pokemon should have.

Even if you don't play this game,
you can't miss its amazing soundtrack.
