Early Access Review
No time to heal between boss attacks, you also cannot land your full combo on bosses, you need to slow grind 1 hit - dodge ;
The game is fine for the first 10 hours, then the balance seems off.

Game is convoluted of unnecessary clutter. You accumulate cities, buildings, specialists, units, defenses. You cannot see clearly what was built where and why. The game might as well be text based at this point it would be clearer. This is not where the game should go, they should bring the hex to a smaller worldscale instead of going ever further on what is on 1 hex...
Clearly they managed again to dig deeper into the mess they started in civ6.
I was thinking that they would have improved something, but no, its worse than civ6.

Early Access Review
Version 0.1.0:
Game is boring and slow in current version 0.1.0 (8-Dec-2024)
Playing through the campaign, until act 3, I didnt find much enjoyment.
Got to finish the campaign, without enjoyments to try maps, and did not like the experience.

Version 0.2.0:
8 hours act 1 couldnt clear it. (06 to 08-Apr-2025)
I ended up giving up, for lack of gems/gear to be able to try another time with a better build.
I was using new javazone skills on my mercenary: storm lance, lighning spear and orb of storm.
Ended up uninstalling to make sure i dont waste more precious hours until another update.
I installed again after update 0.2e, i think.
Not any noticeable change. I finished act 1 by going toward warrior skills after i got a decent 1 hand weapon.
On act 2 I got stuck on overtuned campaign mini-boss. I am expected to kill 2 named bosses that I hit for 0.2% of their health per hit, and its hard to land a hit, while they hit me for 20% of my health per hit and its easy for them to hit me. They have more range, better movement, larger AoE, and faster action speed, higher damage, than me. The only way I could clear them would be to go farm levels and gear and come back, but this is not how a campaign works, once i reach the content, I am supposed to be able to clear it as it is simply tutorial and storyline.
I might check again later still in 0.2, but I am reaching the end of my trust/hope - just wish 0.3 will be better if I choose to continue trying.

Overall do not install.
You should be taught what to do at the beginning, 50%+ of players just died first round and uninstalled.
There should be more balance between farming/increasing character stats / building towers.
Building towers and empowering them can be made better.
The .io design is not good for such games.

Problems once you get to 2 cities, it starts to mess up with the roads and highways. A lot of traffic issues and no mods to fix the intersections. Pedestrians crossing the road where they should not be. Priorities are wrong.
Still no workshop to fix it.

Age of wonder 3 is better. Its missing random map "on-step" effects. You must build land improvements like Civ VI, its not good, forcing you to lose a lot of time to think through base building (tedious more than smart, since you just don't see well enough or fast enough what you have already built). Hero building and items is not as good as Age of wonder 3. Research and casting was changed too, it might be a bit better, but it doesnt feel as good. 6 hours for the first beginner campaign :( It way too much, it should go much faster.

Its banking on the grind, you must grind in hardmode for a lot of rounds to have character strong enough to fight the first stage, then it powercreeps and rinse repeat.
Its built similar to mobile games, or autoshooter, in which you don't unlock everything from the start and you are handicapped.

From the videos, it looks like the game could be some calm fishing and funny inventory management.
The reality is you have to speed up all the time, make short second decisions, each day lasts around 1-2 minute and each night 2-6 seconds.
The crab traps are no fun, its just passive fishing.
Most of the inventory management is tedious, some cool fishes have too hard a pattern to fit until you are in the late game, its slowing down the grind.

I played once (in no scaling mode), its kinda hard, and it feels that if i play again it will be the same kind of playthrough.
Replayability feels poor.
You can almost lose a character each fight its annoying, and then you spend your whole time trying to cure your characters...
I didnt like it.
