Welcome back to The Nightmare Bar, semi-overhauled and harder than previously! Recommend you party up with a team of 4 because this map in my opinion is not for solo players! Development resuming, but very slowly. Screenshots is outdated! Also, play the ma

Congrats Hazelight for reaching the 16 million copies sold of this awesome game!

You know what's sad? This is the only game released in the recent years, that has been so much fun, innovative, exceeding my expectations, actually has a split-screen functionality, beautiful graphics, engaging gameplay and story, and requires a lot of COL-LAB-ORATION. Unlike many other games, this game is appropriately rated, not overrated like many other boring games released in the recent years.

No other games in for many years, have managed to get so much right in a game, while not asking for you to break a hole in your wallet, nor needing stupid microtransactions. Hazelight managed to balance every aspect of the game perfectly, which is hard to do for many AAA studios out there, usually favouring orgasmic graphics and "OMG LOOK RAY-TRACING REFLECTIONS".

Nice work Hazelight, can't wait to see what else games you have in store. You deserved the 2021 GOTY award.

I have yet to finish this game, but when I do, I am going to be severely sad that I won't be able to replay this game as if it was my first play through.

=======================================================================

EDIT: I have finished the game. Took about 15.5 hours to complete, and I still stand by what I have said about this game. I was pretty sad at the end, mainly due to the fact that we have finished the game. Throughout the game, I felt content with what the game delivers, have been engaged with the gameplay, and had many laughs on the way.

I am under the impression that Hazelight is filled with talented professionals working in the studio, who knows how to make a fun game, instead of making games a chore to play by spitting useless collectables, meaningless challenges that are more of a nuisance, etc. I am more worried about EA, considering their track record of closing reputable game studios.

Hazelight will continue to impress me. I initially thought A Way Out was the best game there is, that could not be beaten by another game. But this game, does so much better all around, it is a significantly better and improved game. This is not to say A Way Out is a bad game (which it is not, I recommend playing that game too). I feel like Hazelight will be a studio, who would aim to make more games that would be a significant improvement over the last, or if not, would continue to make decent games that are worth the money.

The soundtrack is pretty great too, really captures the moment of each scene and level in the game. The soundtracks really shines a lot during in-game cutscenes, as well as during the gameplay. I have to give a lot of credit to the composers here.

It Takes Two features pretty great cinematography. There were times where in-game cutscenes felt like a movie (in a good way), mixed with the awesome soundtrack that could make cutscenes emotionally impactful. Plus, the voice actors of May and Cody were brilliant and sounded like professional voice actors who could convey emotion through their voice lines. You could clearly distinct between when they are being silly to being serious or sad.

The story was pretty awesome as well. The start is kind of typical in terms of the story plot; which is (hopefully I have memorised it cos I have a brain of a fish) A marriage is falling apart, that is negatively impacting the daughter - Rose, as her parents - May and Cody, kept fighting and arguing to the point where they have decided to get a divorce. Rose, being confined to her room, she wishes that her parents can get back together or stay as "friends". Rose made a doll of May (her mother), and of Cody (her father, but is made of clay). With a book called Book of Love, that she got from a trash in School, she wishes and cries for her parents to get back together and for the book to help Rose fix her parent's relationship. Afterwards, May and Cody magically gets trapped inside their versions of dolls. From then onwards, their journey starts with the Book of Love (Dr. Hakim who loves the COL-LAB-OR-ATION word) to fix their relationship. The story progression demonstrates the character development that May and Cody goes through.

The world in It Takes Two is all about collaboration and... minigames. The levels have minigames, that are genuinely fun to play against the person you are playing with. My favourite being Whack-a-Mole because whoever is May, gets to whack Cody (being the mole). There are many silly, fun, and laughable moments in this game.

I'd give this game a 10/10. I recommend playing this game to anyone!
