While the game isn't bad, my personal experience with the gameplay balance and progression/pace were making me felt.. Disappointed?

*Slight spoiler ahead*
The early game were great, unlocking cards & skills as you try to strategize and learn the game, you will die but it felt interesting and addictive to keep trying again, definitely had some fun here. Mid game (about Chapter 3) you will start to feel the repetition, game is difficult, kept dying but finally beating the boss make you feel rather satisfying.. Then you grinded a little more, unlocked Necro and game became a breeze..? Final boss beaten without much challenges, resources overflowed by the subsequent long loops, the imbalance is real. I tried chapter 4 again with Warrior & Rogue and now the game became super easy with the plentiful supplies and building benefits unlocked, so then the revelation hit.. There's not much actual strategy involved, the key to winning is actually THE GRIND (and Necro, sort of).. Also I did not even fully upgrade and fill up most of the plots in my base, it felt hollow and it's like the dev did not even make enough content to utilize the game's potential and it has to end already, in an unsatisfying way.

Not sure if I played the game wrongly, but that's just how I felt about the whole experience. Dope arts and music though, the theme is cool.

Pretty good simple and chill space exploration game, you just fly your ship here and there to uncover stuffs + progress the story. Not a lot of resource management either; you don't even need to worry about fuel. Some reading is definitely required though, which is crucial to progress through some quests. A little lengthy if you are like me, who love to explore everything in sight.

Only dislike few of the achievements that require you to find some planets without any clues. Also couldn't find the Black Comet :/ (Or is there actually one?)

Decent solid 2D 'Boomer Shooter', game isn't that hard on Expert difficulty even if you're not a pro FPS player, EXCEPT for a few challenging bosses (Satisfying to beat 👍🏼). FOV slider is present. Nice Lovecraftian theme and art, probably can't go wrong if you dig this kind of game.

The Bad (Each happened few times during my play):
- Character can get stuck
- Game bugged out few times and not progressing after all enemies of an arena slain (Also happened during my Endless mode play, and the worst thing is my scores aren't even recorded while I have to quit by using the menu :/ )
- Fatal error & crashes

Simple yet really addictive game. Finishing the Hardcore run is like you wanted it to end badly, while you also wish there's more to do and not ending yet...

*Slap Boombox* IT'S SO BIIIIIGGGGGG

A pretty short and linear JRPG experience. It was alright, the art & visuals are fine, the gameplay don't suck, but the whole thing lack any meaningful / unique impression that could make it stand out from the sea of many other games...

Decent for a single chill playthrough but nothing special

Pros:
- Really feels like watching a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, the vibe..!
- Hilarious banters & conversations, and there are A LOT of them, the team were almost always talking (dynamically), the dev definitely put a of thoughts and works into those.

Cons:
- A LOT OF BUGS.. Serious!. Like game not progressing after battle ended / reaching checkpoint (restart needed), unwalkable flat surface (like with invisible wall) that was supposed to be walkable (definitely because the loot is just right there), character model shaking / glitching while standing still, disappearing subtitles, places that will get you stuck, etc... Just too many of em...
- The FOV.. But luckily on PC there are ways to mitigate that :) (with minor setback during cutscenes haha)

I don't often give "No" review.. And I really did TRIED to like this game (I like strategy game, and look at my hours played), I went through the entire thing, and my final thought is: I felt like I've wasted my time here, which I shouldn't have.. (Writing this so you don't have to)

The game started ok, but get boring and tedius soon at about mid game.. The moment you are able to recruit Tier 3, you've probably already checked the rest of the units and seen all the game has to offer. And if you know what you're doing, your team is probably already pretty OP too and most battles are just chores (I'm playing at Brutal difficulty). There aren't even much strategy involved, you could just use 1 same team and do every battle (occasionally swapping 1 back row maybe), it's just a click-fest.. My Avy can insta-kill 2-3 enemies with crits (easily maxed) in the first turn at late game.. Oh and the DLC is just adding even more OP units that you definitely don't need.. Really nothing to lose (except your time) without it.

Exploration and items are also unrewarding and boring, almost all treasures are just randomized useless equipment or resources that you don't need more... The city building part & resources management too felt like brain-dead filler to waste the player time... You just go there to click every level like playing a mobile game :/

Dialogues and story is decent but not very exciting, some of those choices feel very out of place to me especially those that allow Avy to tried romance random stranger / monster lol... Then the main story, the true ending is locked at New Game+... I have a bit of interest in that but ultimately can't justify spending more days & hours on it just to grind through the same tedious stuffs, the game length should've been much shorter for that.

The art and music are probably the only few things that are pretty well done here, environment and units looks fine. Some of the characters though.. Are reused model with added effects (which really cracked me lol, I don't care how the game try to phrase it, it's obviously due to laziness).. Man, the moment I saw Avy's mother model.. Am I playing a custom Warcraft 3 map or what..?

Conclusion (4/10): Do yourself a favor and skip this one if you like challenging and satisfying gameplay, there are definitely better similar games out there (I have fonder memories of playing old King's Bounty than this). Unless if you prefer an easy game + time waster, you can consider giving it a try on sale.

Solid rougelike PvE deckbuilding game... Got me hooked my last whole week the moment started playing it.
Not sure if it's just me though, but some card talk..? Perhaps I need more sleep

A "Not-too-bad" Metroidvania, felt a little bland especially at earlier stages but grew better towards the end. I would say it is somewhat "difficult" on Normal mode, as you probably need to die a few rounds to learn those bosses movesets, many attacks wind-up time is rather short and it hurts A TON... Some bosses have super bull attack patterns with 0 wind-up at their second phase as well... 🤷

Characters are cute and the better endings were pretty heartwarming to see by the way.
