Its a very good game. Despite the lack of dedicated content creators making videos to this day, the modding community is going strong and online party makes the game always a joy to play with others. If you like 3D Platformers, there is absolutely nothing you can do wrong by playing this game. And if the base game is not hard enough, consider playing deathwish. And if that is still not hard enough, there are even harder levels available as mods!

It really is one of the most fun games I played a lot. However this partially reminds me of metroid fusion where some progress is locked by the story. But outside of that I had a lot of fun. Sure it has its weaknesses but overall I had a blast. The difficulty curve jumps up a lot so be wary of that. But your experience might be different I played on expert +, which is one of the harder difficulties.

If you played Rabi Ribi, you might not enjoy this game as it is different but for what its worth, I had a blast playing it.

Its just not fun, not balanced and repetetive after some time. It starts alright but it feels like it has an identity crisis. A certain mechanic later on is very frustrating due to inbalance and it is borderline impossible to keep some areas up and running as they consume most of your money. Also considering a lot of the required items can be only bought with a special currency that you only slowly build up limits you and slows you down artifically. I basically had to sit afk and wait for the days to pass so I got enough ressources.

This is genuinely one of the greatest 2D platformers ever made. Imagine Wario Land 4. But much faster. Its hard to wrap it into words but the gameplay feels very satisfying, the music is amazing, the bosses are so unique and fun, the art is just stunning. Everything is handdrawn spritework with over the top expressions, its just a joy to watch. The variety that this game has to offer is baffling and just amazing. I know I am using this comparison a lot, but if you loved Wario Land 4, you will love this game as well.




One minor issue I encountered as of writing this review is that controller inputs cannot be remapped. It might be possible to do it through some changes to a .ini file, but I personally used a 3rd party controller that allows remapping.

Grab this game if it looks interesting to you. You will not be disapointed. It is amazing!

This game was not what I expected. The card mechanic is very enjoyable but that is it. The writing is horrible and I know this is supposed to be ironic, but that doesnt make it funny at all. Its legit painful to watch and a lot of the voice acting feels not as great as expected.

That aside the biggest issue with the game is how lackluster it feels like to play if you dont have any cards at your disposal, combined with the behaviour of some guns/abilities. The fact that you cannot build or maintain horizontal momentum is a dealbreaker for me personally. The way rocketjumping works feels also very odd as you can build up vertical moment but no horizontal speed at all. It just feels really wrong and I started to hate it. I am speedrunning video games a lot and come from a background with bhopping intensive games and it just feels like there is a lot of potential that is missed. I do hope the devs learn out of this and perhaps improve the gameplay aspect in a potential sequel.

All in all, I do not recommend people buying the game.

Genuinely, a masterpiece of a 3d platfomer. Amazing gameplay, a great story, top of the line humor and creativity all over the place.
This game is a must buy for anyone who even remotely likes 3d plattforming!

Technical issues, pretty average gameplay and a not so good story.
This is not my type of game, I enjoyed other Arkane games much more.
Save yourself some money and buy Prey or any of the dishonored games, you are much better off that way.

W so big wario had to come out of the W door

Skylar is a very good game. It is first off all very cheap but while its cheap it has a lot to offer. Movement in this game is amazing. The responsiveness of the character feels good. Jumping feels right not floaty not heavy. The intentionally cringy dialog was funny (well one pun was too much i think everyone agrees on THAT pun was too much).

It might not be the longest game but it is definately worth the money. Im not the best in writing reviews but if you are thinking about buying the game you should because you wont regret it.
