This is from 500 hour experience with Monster Hunter World.

Gameplay wise, they designed the battle to be much more fast paced. Compared to MHW, recovery options during battle is increased and the added more options for high risk high reward skills in most weapons. Also, the new Palamute and Palico companions helps solo players a lot. And thanks to your trusty palamute, no more running around wasting your stamina because you can ride your palamute not wasting your stamina, and do secondary activities like weapon sharpening and eating while on your palamute. Also during battle they are SUPER useful.

If you like MHW, I think there's much for you to like about this game. Absolutely recommended for MHW fans.

Just finished it, done all sides quests and loved it. The battle is frenetic and combo crazy like the old 2D Tales games. The story is surprisingly good compared to other JRPGs. Couldn't stop playing it. Love it!

There's still some bugs where you can't change your resolution but overall pretty stable game.

It's the same as the 2020 version (as was the 2019 version), also the software update for the steam version is next to non existent. If you want the updated version, then you need to buy it from their website.

What made Hades different from other Roguelikes for me is that the game keeps you interested with story bits. Throughout the gameplay after coming back from multiple deaths the game gives you some more dialog from the characters in the game. It livens up the game from the repetitions that you will encounter from these types of games and gives you a different kind of 'progression' that push you to play the game again. The method of progression is also varied and tied into the story also. Absolutely recommended for people who likes action games!

Edit: Still awesome!

This is probably the only "Souls" game that I actually liked and finished (So far at least). Compared to the first one, this game is a lot less punishing and most Souls player may even call it too easy. That may be so, but the game offers some nice improvements from the first game. The map structure makes it easy and encourage you to explore and grind for stuff. Early on, you can collect new armor and weapons from the enemies till you feel confident to push through the area more. Death is annoying, yes, you will drop all of the currency you have on you but whatever you drop will become a beacon that will give you a heal over time (Which is quite useful during boss fights). Overall the death penalty felt quite light and especially later on in the end game, it becomes almost none consequential.

The biggest problem that I have with the game is the map system; it has none. All access and short cuts requires a lot of memorization since even when the map is segmented per area, each area is quite large and is connected in certain nodes that is often quite out of the way.

The game's battle system is made quite diverse like the previous game. You can try and make a nimble build; dodging and poking your enemy in a very fast manner. Or a lumbering monstrosity that can one shot enemies in one blow. But the the parry system in this game is so OP, it makes customization a bit moot. Even so, the game still push you to manage your resources correctly with a very large risk of a quick death even from the menial enemies.

The game follow's the theme and very action oriented game play of the original RE3. The game is very short but encourages you to replay the game to collect points so you buy fun upgrades in a store. That would sound pretty typical run of the mill contemporary action games. But the problem is, the game structured like a survival horror and the shooting/action of the game is pretty mediocre compared to other games.

Sometimes I wonder if the developers were struggling to decide whether this game is an action game or a horror survival game. What they come up with is a game with conflicting identity that only manages to become mediocre on either side of its persona.

Only recommended for hard core Resident Evil fans only.
