The ✨nuanced✨ option!

Yeah, this is honestly really, really great. The prose is sparse AND really good with excellent use of repetition and context sensitivity. Unforgettable retorts. 1k×R clearly has imprints of both a "work of love" and "the desperate debut publication" all over it, with many dissonant great ideas functioning as an uneasy, great whole (as if one has to put them out NOW since a second chance may not appear). The voice work, acted entirely by great unknowns to me, is cutting close to being the best I've heard in games with all the characters voiced, and for once it's a powerful carrying engine for the game instead of another reason to shell cash out to NN or TB. Not that they could voice this game in any case.

A very good future dystopia/utopia timeline launching off of current-day fears and pain points, simultaneously a first contact story stranger than most, a magical girl story stranger than most and a deus ex machina device stranger than most. A yuri-of-absence stranger than most. See? Many well-known parts in a unique whole with much that I've never, ever seen; not this desperate and intelligent.

Now, the rest: Gameplay-wise it's pure linear third person 3d adventure with scant else, the voice acting is s-u-p-e-r-b, the art style pans from evocative to excellent to chromaberrated dreg a little too much, and the music isn't particularly interesting. But oh man, if you get into the characters, the mood and the story. 💙

Lu's games are odd lo-fi conceptual pieces that I'm glad to have in the world. This one is harder to grasp for me than most.

Slow, repetitive and easy – but pretty darn good.

A short and sweet detective game with a killer soundtrack and voice acting and absolutely NO busywork! Big budget detective games should take notes.

The graphics are an interesting combination of really great looking high resolution items and odd, JPEG-compressed low resolution items. I don't get at all how there are companies that put ultra-compressed static graphics in commercial games. Cutscenes, of course, have always been compressed all to hell.

Anyway, that's the only gripe for me – macroblocked and red-bleeding art – and everything else about the game is superbly executed and incredibly polished.

A pretty cute fishing / fetch quest game with an undertone of pretend danger. Packed with fetch quests, if that's your thing. Not particularly challenging or well paced, owing to the open nature of both the sea and the buy-sell –system, but it's fun for a while if you like the basic mechanics or get absolutely engorged over fetch quests and RNGs.

The publisher deserves a scalding for cutting some quality of life items for early game out for day one DLC, though.

Excellent little extra island addition with a couple of hunts to do. Play early or midgame, it's a bit late to go for in the last stages of Dredge.
