Looking back to this game a year after its initial release, there has been a lot of ups and downs, many controversies involving this game, however, one thing that is constant and remain true for me is the story is 100% worth it.

The bugs, glitches and problems still exists in the game, however, don't let that stop you from enjoying the masterpiece that is the story.

Early Access Review
This game check every marks I was looking for in a WW2 semi-realistic, ARMA-like shooter. It has the guts (literally), the visuals, the gameplay mechanics, and the community. It does have a bit of a learning curve, especially for squad leader or team commander, as well as other supporting roles, but it's a blast to play.

If you like SQUAD, you'll love this game!

Update 31 May, 2021: Recommended
As of Season of the Splicer (Season 14), there has been quite a few major changes, including reversal of sun setting gears and weapons, since the launch of Beyond Light (Season 12). My impression of the game as of S14 is that it is now worth playing again with suffice contents that at least worth the purchase of Beyond Light expansion + current Season pass.

The biggest change that they have done is the reversal of the decision to sun set gears and weapons, which allow for items you earned to no longer have an expiration date, long story short, you no longer have to worry about wasting time grinding your perfect god roll for it to just be useless 3 seasons later.

Quality of content wise, Season 13 and Season 14 has been great, the gameplay loop is still very much Destiny rinse and repeat, but they have added great incentives to said gameplay loop that are rewarding and time-worthy.

With the reprise of Destiny's very first raid, Vault of Glass remastered, New Light players once again have access to a feature that has long been missing since the launch of Beyond Light, a free raid. This will help New Light player decide whether to further invest into the paid DLCs and future seasons of the game.

Update 17 Nov, 2020 @ 8:33am: Not recommended
As of Beyond Light launch (Season 12), I no longer recommend this game. They have removed more than 60% of the contents in the game while adding very little to compensate. Coupled with the fact that they "retired" every weapons, except for exotics, obtained prior to Season of the Arrival, making them useless and unable to increase in light level pass 1060.

Save yourself the money, avoid this mess. Bungie clearly have no intention of keeping Destiny 2 a good game, rather a DLC churning machine with, once again, very shallow amount of contents.

Unskippable end game credits roll.
50/50 chance of Communication Error or disconnecting from server.

But I love this game. It's addicting, it's like an abusive relationship.
