Decent game, but would benefit from the following:

- Toggle ADS
- Some destruction
- F2P (or at least very cheap) because months down the line only experienced try-hards will play the game and it will turn into a hardcore PvP game. A steady flow of newbies would lighten the game.
- An alternative lighter gamemode with few players to encourage more PvE.

The game came out in a terrible state, and since its release 2 months ago there haven't been any major updates to address any of the technical or gameplay issues. Here are some of the biggest issues with the game:

- Shader compile on ever start, checks just over 10000 shaders quickly but recompiles about 1000 shaders again every time.
- Multiplayer is laggy af. Hits take over a second to register, there's some crazy teleportation going on and network rollback. Weapons that are able to be picked up, such as shurikans just disappear.
- Playing multiplayer always causes an initial period of intense lag, as if some shaders are still compiling. This doesn't happen in solo.
- Any server issues boot you out of solo play, without getting any of the materials or XP already collected.
- They take down the servers for maintenance without announcement. There may be a forum post 10 minutes before it happens, which isn't good enough. Announce it in-game and well ahead of it happening.
- Skill trees are terrible, there are genuinely terrible skills that are beyond useless. It would be easy to buff those skills but after 2 months there's no no balance changes yet though.
- Choice of maps is small and pretty uninspired, thinking back how KF2 DLC maps were.
- Only 3 bosses, 2 of which are boring. No Hans.
- No options on how matches are set up, i.e. how many rounds, which boss, etc.
- No dedicated servers
- "Complete all dailies" challenge is broken if all weeklies are completed. Couldn't even bother fixing that.
- Executing Scrakes and Fleshpounds sometimes bug out and even though the animation plays fully, they're still alive and none of the area damage is done. Which leaves you in a bad spot.
- All the UE5 graphical and performance jank you can expect

-- Devs don't seem to update the game at all. No balance changes, no fixes for potentially unwanted exploits of skills + weapon combos, no "fix" for the bash spam, no fix for the issues with challenges like dailies. It seems like they are happy with the state and balance of the game.

Some positives:
+ Runs on Proton / Linux
+ Battlepass can be free and is not too difficult to complete, so no micro-transactions necessary
+ Can be played solo. Solo is lag free. Offline solo is possible but disables all progress

Runs well on Linux/proton now with the launcher workaround.

Game itself is fun, it's like a more melee focused Left4Dead. Teammate bots are very competent, game can be easily completed solo.

Great remaster of the original classic. Good QoL features added, and improvements across all aspects of the game.
Huge bonus that saves from the original can be imported.

The Take Two ToS changes are a huge deal breaker though, which makes me not want to play this game anymore.

One of the best single player shooter campaign stories. Performance is great with no dips, runs great on Proton.
Thankfully none of the achievements are tied to the multiplayer.

I hope they bring it back to digital stores, maybe as a remaster.
