:Raccoon:I think, therefore I am what I think I am

Im on a quest to find the coolest place in the world. All I need is a submarine made out of empty beer cans, a pair of rubber party pants and a parot that can burp his own name.

Alien bug swarms

If any of that sparks your interest, then look no further! Deep Rock is a great little co-op game. Its simple, and yet, amazingly fun. This game doesnt try to be some big, complex game with intricate, detailed systems that you have to learn. Its not an rpg. Its not a moba, or a battle royal. Its not a survival game (unless you could surviving waves of alien bugs). What it IS, however, is fun.

I was gonna post a long review about what this game is about. I realized it was pointless, since what you see in the trailers IS basically what the game is all about. Mining, exploring, fighting bugs, and dwarves being dwarves. That it? Pretty much. Why is that special? Easy answer: Its Fun.

The game is solidly made. No crashes. Very few bugs in its current state. Devs adding new features and functionality with each frequent patch.

PROS

See the list at the top

Ive had a total blast playing the game so far.

CONS

My only concern is with the progression system. Each item only has 2-3 upgrades for it. After that, there is nothing else to progress towards outside of cosmetic changes. This worries me additionally because if progression stops so soon, then can we really expect the games challenge level to increase beyond a certain point?

I really want the devs to be open and let us know what they have planned for this in the game. Will each of the 4 characters be able to buy and equip different items? IE: multiple types of pick axes? Will there be multiple tiers of upgrades per item, so you dont "cap out" 1 week after playing? Etc etc.

Overall, for 25 bucks, you can easily get multiple hours of fun. If you are looking for a game with a story, or a large open world, or in depth RPG elements, then look elsewhere.

EDIT: My concerns arent really a CON anymore. The devs are doing an amazing job beefing up the progression system, and there is still lots more to come.
