I bought this game in pre-release and played several versions of it before the final release. I was concerned, but the developer pushed back the release date and resolved all major issues. I still have not figured out a couple minor bonus puzzles, and some of the puzzles were only solved at i got frustrated and just started throwing things at stuff. Can't believe how many puzzles were solved by shoving a shoe into a small space :P

Lots of potential. I hope this developer releases more games.

An interesting take on a 4x game. Can you kill off everyone with the common cold?

Each scenario has unique building trees and strategies, but the only change to normal 4x is that there is only every one player trying to kill off the population or convert them to infected. I personally enjoyed the Vampires and Apes, but the other scenarios are more about virus' and other infections.

After playing the 2nd and 3rd Batman games from Rockstead I decided to pick this one up. It was on sale for like 3-5$ and after enjoying the other two so much it was worth it even it was bad. You can see how they needed to polish it further in the next 2 games, but the story is fun. Sadly no DLCs or Extras. The riddles and sides are very easy compared to the medium difficulty of the ones in later games.

Not sure the game holds up today as the graphics look super rough now but the combat is there and while timing is highly key to the fight it has several really good initial versions of fight mechanics for game 2 and 3. For the price it was well worth it.

This was the first Rockstead Batman Game I ever played, and it right after beating it I bought Arkham Knight. If I hadn't played Knight this would be one of the best Actions games I ever played. So much to do, but some of the riddles and side things made so much more sense after playing the first Batman game. I didn't complete every side mission/extra, but I did do all the DLCs and the Harley one was also very very good. Highly recommend.

I owned this game for years, but recently decided to run through the main story line. If you avoid side events, quests, and distractions you may feel like the game is 90% videos and cut-scenes, but my wife really enjoyed it and through it was like watching a movie.

It's mid to late 1770s revolutionary america. You can see how Assasins Creed tweaks their controls every game, and it gets better. However, this may be one of the best stories and was very enjoyable to watch/play.

You can clearly see it was made by the Resident Evil guy, but it is so much better. It's a stealth-action-survivor-horror game. This game ruined Resident Evil for me and I am now looking forward to The Evil Within 3 more than Resident Evil 8.

One of the best action games I have ever played. This is the final installment in this trilogy, and all it really comes together nicely. So much so that I collected every optional extra item/challenge and was rewarded with a special ending.

I highly recommend it to anyone who likes action games. Assassin Creed fans should definitly check out the series as it is mechanically very similar, but so much better.

The first issue I had was with the game modes. The 3rd mode immediately removes normal combat and one of the best parts of the game. The 4th game mode also removes save points causing you to have super long periods where you have to repeat if you have any issues, which almost always result in immediate death.

The next issue I ran into was with the controls and consistency of behavior. They are a combination of forced and highlighted behavior such as jumping from one grapple hold to another, but then in the exact same space, you have a hold that you have to manually navigate to land on. And the difference between success and failure is slim with nothing to grab Styx. Then they do in fact add a mechanism to help grab ends of floors so that jumps that are almost failures are still successful. The rope swinging is a hold toward direction and shows an animation that at first seemed like it wanted me to swing back and forth with the controls, and then after several very confusing behaviors where Styx tries to rotate around it occurred to me that we only need to hold in the direction you want to swing, yet another example of where the game mechanics try to help you. However, swinging from rope to rope is a manual process that is very easy to miss a swing and fly right by the rope. Overall I found the controls and mechanics to be inconsistent and confusing, and every time I thought I figured out a new behavior there was a situation that behavior stopped being true for.

The raycasting used for enemies to detect Styx is horrible. They can see through floors, balconies, and some walls. It is painful to play with when you are used to modern sight lines in games.

There are these popups to explain the various mechanics and they can be helpful in understanding what they want you to do, but they exist in this space where they are not required and you can just ignore them. However, they don't leave the screen, so to get rid of the message you either need to do the action they want or to wait for the next one to replace it. I could not find a way to simply dismiss them, and for simple actions that were fine. Yet, some of them require the use of an item to clear off the screen, and it never came up the first time when I wanted to actually use that item. A better situation always occurred a moment later, but I had to have a popup sit on my screen until then.

Saving is a problem. In lower difficulty game modes you save every 5 steps, figuratively, automatically. On harder game modes you never save and have to repeat huge spaces of gameplay if you die from any of the mentioned mechanics that don't always work very well. Also, if you ever find yourself in need to go back for a single pickup and it saves, then you fall down or die to an enemy who sees you through a solid object the save puts you back to the previous item pickup location. Which may be quite a ways away from the place you were actually at.

I only played this game for 100 minutes, and then requested a refund.

If you are looking for a free game to play here and there for less than a hour, at a time, then here you go. You can easily play the entire game without paying for anything, and has enough complexity to give you the feeling to play it again and again.

Solid story line with cinematic scenes, along with multiple side stories with their own stories.

However, the game has little to no replay value as it is extremely linear. You are not allowed to investigate as you see fit, but rather as it fits their predetermined path.

Game completion with nearly all sub clues collected in 10.4 hours of playtime.

I give the game a 4 out of 10
