I was not aware of this game until 1.0 release. I am happy I wasn't "spoiled" by pre-testing, and I've managed to experience it fully in one go.

The PvE aspect is amazing. The clear progression system with bosses with interesting mechanics and reasons to defeat them makes the whole game interesting and purposeful.

The PvP aspect is a bit challenging for me as I lack skill to fight well with players, but it creates interesting emergent gameplay situations if you do not mind losing your gathered resources. If you hate it, you can still play PvE with others.

The full customization of game settings allows you to disable inability to teleport with certain resources (Valheim curse), setup drop and resource multipliers like in RUST so you define how much grind you want.

The brutal boss mechanics are fun and add extra flair to boss fights you've already learnt.

All in all, I cannot recommend this game enough if you like arcade style fighting with spells and counters, RUST-like survival mechanics and player interaction.

This feels a bit too vanilla without all the CS1 modded content I am used to, but it feels feature complete, and the performance on 4060 is nice.

Update on 04/2024
After playing this game I had to come back to CS1. Lack of modding support and terrain tools makes it much less interesting, sadly.

The best RPG game with a complex character building system I've played in the last few years.

Captivating story, many side quests, companions with game-long personal stories and relationships, and very fun combat mechanics and character build possibilities.

Extra cherry on top is ability to complete the game in different ways, so your choices matter. Being "evil" is no longer "cheesy for intentionally being evil", without spoilers there are story paths that encourage that.

9/10 for me, I will reserve 1 until I finish it since I didn't complete quite a few possible walkthrough paths.

The only real thing that makes me a bit sad, is that there's unlikely a way to mod the game to completely extend it like you could in Bethesda games (something that made me play for years). But that's mostly the game on its own is mostly complete, you cannot really add much to it.

One of the best classical Roguelikes, with tons of systems and gameplay elements. Easy to learn, hard to master.

Early Access Review
This is an amazing game if you want to build a vehicle and see it perform, and then spend hours if not days optimizing the design and playing around with it.

The game is also pretty chill for a "rescue" kind of game. You spend a lot of time in transit between destinations and career mode doesn't really punish you for failing/not taking the missions.

If you loved building cars out of LEGO TECHNIC, this is the game for you.
And I haven't even looked into Steam Workshop yet. I am too busy enjoying my helicopter design flaws.

I keep coming back to the game. The simple and yet diverse gameplay, and mods, make it worth my time every time.

While the game has cool design, it is completely unplayable at times.

- Despite of my i7/SSD install/Geforce 1050Ti/16Gb of RAM, periodically the game stutters out of nowhere and makes PvP impossible. Sometimes it runs fine, but sometimes it's unplayable. According to my search online, multiple users suffer from this issue.
- Periodically built structures become "non-existing": you can shift through them/going to 2nd floor makes you float. I managed to get into another player's base like that, and got stuck inside.

Cannot recommend at this stage, maybe they will fix it eventually.

This is the Dwarf Fortress of Steam.

Ever since I was a teen, I have been the subject of harassment and ridicule as a result of my extreme erectile disfunction. I have been prescribed medication upon medication to try and combat this, but nothing has seemed to work.

It stopped me from getting into relationships because I was afraid that if they ever found out, they would just panic and leave me. All of my friends no longer wanted to be associated with me. "Tinky winky" they called me. I had nobody to turn to. Doctors were dumbfounded by my condition and they hadn't ever witnessed anything of the sort.

It had gotten to the point where it was really begining to take a toll on my mental health. On my bad days, I liked to play games on Steam to distract me from the harsh realities of erectile disfunction. One day while browsing through Steam, I got recommended a game that I hadn't ever seen before, Rimworld. Little did I know at the time, but this would be the turning point in my life. At first I was hesitant to play the game as it wasn't the usual thing I would enjoy, but I decided to play it anyway as it was on sale. What was there to lose?

I boot up the game and start to play and about five minutes into the game, I feel something lift from within my boxer briefs. What could it possibly be? I looked down and my jaw dropped in absolute disbelief. My♥♥♥♥♥♥♥was erect. I didn't know what to do. I was at the absolute happiest I had ever been in my life.

The first thing I did was call my mother and tell her about the great news and she was also in disbelief. Doctors don't know how it happened and to this day they still haven't been able to explain why this happened.

Many years have passed now and I'm in a happy relationship with children. I feel like an entirely new person with this new found confidence. I can't recommend this game enough.

This game has done more for me than years of expensive medical treatment and therapy could. I give this game a perfect score of 10/10 and will be sure to visit back often.

TL;DR
This game saved my life, check it out!

Currently I am trying to love the game.

There are some interesting improvement gameplay-wise.
However I cannot get rid of the feeling that the gameplay is not fresh.

I will keep trying to love it and find that "oomph" factor in somewhere. Then I will change the review.

Also not very happy with "DLC civilizations" approach, but since i already got them all, it's not what I am complaining about here. It's the actual interest in the game.

With the direction Bethesda is going, I cannot recommend this game.
They want to switch to microtransactions and paid mods.

I would not mind that, but.
I am not a fan of downloading mod assets for the mods I don't intend to buy. Why bundle them in main game? It takes a lot of hard drive space.

Apparently they release updates to support paid modding, and it breaks a lot of mods I already have. The hell Bethesda? Leave my game alone :).
