I would fully encourage that every single Steam user plays this game at least once and I hope that one day we can get a sequel that could top this absolute masterpiece of programming, art and audio engineering. I volunteer this game to the louvre. It should have been this game MatPat gave to the Pope. This is, for sure, one of the games of all time and I can only hope this review encourages even one person to partake in such a cultured delight.

I had a lot of fun with PAYDAY 3. This game started out on the roughest foot, it didn't even start standing up. PAYDAY 3 entered this world on its own ass, skidding through the door. Nebula Errors, Server Connection issues. the works. Somehow, they brought it back. The game went from Overwhelmingly Negative to Mostly Positive. The DLCs added some amazing weapons, we got a load of quality of life features, Operation: Medicbag, Cook-Off. We were eating good. Yesterday we were told in a quarterly report that they would be supporting PAYDAY 3 with a SIGNIFICANTLY reduced budget.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guys. This is crazy.

They played us, told us that this game would be supported for many years to come. How the ♥♥♥♥ is this game going to be supported for many years to come on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skeleton crew with no money? The game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ struggled out the door with as many resources as Starbreeze could throw at it. It genuinely feels like every win Starbreeze takes is punctuated with a long, painful, and embarrassing series of losses.

VOIP with no Push to Talk.
A server browser that doesn't update.
Solo mode that has been in Beta for 6 months.
DLCs that don't even add new achievements.

Starbreeze, if there is a slither of a possibility of a whisper of a chance that anyone in your PR department reads this then let it be this one point:

You have set Project BAXTER up for a significant failure. No one will buy it either:
A) out of loathing for the damage its development has done to PAYDAY 3's lifespan
or
B) because most of your players don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about D&D.

Baldur's Gate 3 came out recently and set the world ablaze. You're not going to share a market with BG3 when most people just know you for your long, storied series of complete ♥♥♥♥-ups.

Releasing Project BAXTER will start a clock that counts down towards the very end of Starbreeze as we know it, no amount of investor buyouts will be able to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you this time.
