all honesty its a great game with a beautiful story that reaches heights that imo GTA V doesn't, with the stories of an immigrant who got off the boat and realizes the american dream can quickly become an american nightmare (GTA IV), a rowdy biker (TLAD), a night club worker who was in the wrong place at the wrong time (TBOGT).

all the stories, main game AND dlc ring true to the soul of New York City with the main game and TLAD focusing on the darker side (which 100% exists in NYC and is accurate) and TBOGT focusing on the more positive side (which also, 100% exists too and is more accurate). this is certainly one of the few games I've seen of NYC that balances making it seem amazing but also making it feel realistic and showing the negatives, a lot of games or movies in new york tend to border on romantic idealization or making it feel like a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this game had a bit of both which I feel is great.

also as someone who lives in NYC I would argue GTA IV is the best I've seen it recreated in a game. it's beautiful and navigating the city is weirdly eerily similar, i can take similar routes and i find they totally did their research while making this game which makes sense since i think rockstar is headquartered in soho, but they totally got the city right in this game, not only the locale but also the feel and grit of the city which you really cannot find in other games like even Spider-Man felt too "clean", this game captured the energy and is still relevant to NYC in 2024 imo, maybe even more so. i highly recommend this game, 100%, check it out and you will not be disappointed.

Amazing remake and the definitive way to experience the first Half Life if you’ve never played it before. If you have then it’s interesting to see how the game has been, not only remade, but evolved from it’s original release.
