If you are looking to buy please go and look at a guide though, for some reason IO decided to make buying the game a very convoluted process.

A chill survival/crafting puzzle game with metroidvania style map

I'm not going to talk about the story because millions of people already talked about it and yea, it is pretty ♥♥♥♥ and villains are trying to be Tiktok Handsome Jack.

Gameplay wise It's great. Maybe even better than 2. Shooting is great, weapon identities are great, using a gun for hours and being satisfied with your gun only to find an even better gun is great. I like the talent trees being more active ie. picking and choosing active skills and modifying them instead of dozens of passive skills. Borderlands 2 had very fun skill trees and classes but 3 made them even better.

The map is horrible. It may even be considered a crime against humanity in some countries.

Loot wise, new anointed weapons are great and enhance your gameplay if you enjoy using skills a lot. I don't like that they didn't add more loot qualities like they did in 2 like Cursed, Pearlascent etc. but the amount of loot and builds you can have is still satisfying.

Story is ♥♥♥♥ but at least quests are somewhat less memey. Worst part of 2 was EVERY SINGLE SIDE QUEST was a reference to a meme or it was a LOL RANDUMB xD moment. 3 still have quests like that but it's overall better than 2.

Even with all the negatives, positives are too much fun for me so I can easily ignore or even forget the negatives.

On one hand I'm hyped for 4, I hope they look back at 2 and 3, think about what they have done, and make a great comeback that surpasses the trilogy combined but on the other, I know 2K and Gearbox will ♥♥♥♥ it up somehow by adding some skibidi toilet quest and making the villain a "quirky" alien that likes to eat tide pods.

I wish developers the best as they try to make a good game despite Randy Pitchford and 2K.

I find this game redundant when there is 7 days to die. It is pretty much the same game but a lot less content.

I will come back to this several years later, hopefully they improve everything.

Game crashes my PC literally on the first island.

I have spent more time on the internet looking for a solution than playing the game and there is literally no fixes.

This is how Early Access should be. A finished game, with only minor bugs and balances to fix.

Not only that, the gameplay loop is also fun. In survival/crafting games, combat is usually boring or clunky but V Rising does both survival and combat aspects of the game very good. You don't die if you don't eat or drink (blood) but it actually makes you weaker. I've played many survival games but only Valheim and V Rising made the survival aspect of the game actually not annoying.

Based devs, I hope they support this game for years.

Edit: Game is out of Early Access for some time now and I can still say that this is how you do Early Access. Even with EA game was too much fun, and the updates it received only built on top of that fun. I have no idea if they are going to add more content but even with what the game has right now, you can easily play for hours. I don't like PVP in games like this because at the end of the day, people who farmed more will always come out on top than people who haven't farmed but have skill. V Rising turned this aspect into a very balanced game. Yes you will probably get ganked by high levels but if you have the skills, you can kill players with gear 2 3 tiers above yours and catching up to them is not very hard.

In the ocean of trash that is open world survival crafting games, V rising is not only one of the best but it's also a very great game on it's own.

I don't understand how Pillars of Eternity got 2 games and several DLCs but no one even mentions this game. Story is amazing, lore is amazing, even the magic system on its own should make this game GOTY.

Finished the game twice and I'm sure I will probably play it several more times. This game is definitely in my Top 3 RPGs of all time 10/10
