I've never thought this game would come to see the light of day.
The first Evil Within game is an obsession of mine and love it to pieces ever since release back in 2014.

The Evil Within 2 is more than I ever hoped for in a sequel to one of my favorite games.
  • It took all the problems most people had with the first game and fixed them.
  • The story is perfect for fans of the original game, and newcomers will find themselves wanting to play the first one.
  • They took the gameplay from the first game and perfected it in almost every way possible.

I just can't bring to words how much I love this game.
For me, The Evil Within 2 is one of the best games released in recent years.

"Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg... and my arm... even my fingers. The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past."

The Phantom Pain
Just to get it out of the way: I have not played any other metal gear games next to Rising and now The Phantom Pain. If I state something wrong plot wise, please correct me. Metal Gear Solid V is actually the fourth game in the chronological order (Counting Snake Eater, Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes). The Phantom Pain takes place nine years after Ground Zeroes, after Big Boss (MGSV SPOILER: and the phantom Boss, AKA the medic) awake from a coma. when Big Boss awakes from a nine year coma after the events of the Ground Zeroes ending. As Big Boss is helped by a mysterious man and Revolver Ocelot, he escapes from the hospital and heads towards Afghanistan. After Miller is found and rescued, Big Boss, Ocelot and Miller start building The Diamond Dogs; Your very own army.

Gameplay
The gameplay is said by many one of the best in the Metal Gear franchise. MGS V is an open world game in which you have the freedom to infiltrate many enemy bases and build up the Diamond Dogs. Big Boss does many mission in which the main story finds itself, a clunky revenge tale on the man who set these events in motion; Skull Face. But more about the main story in a bit. The gameplay includes you doing the main missions, side mission (side ops), build up your mother base, deploying your best men on missions and developing new gear for you, your buddies and mother base. You can play any way you like in the open world, you can attack enemy bases with a lot of offense, spewing rockets and grenades at them until the whole base is one with the ground. But the game encourages stealth over a loud attack. The stealth is amazing, which it should be in a Metal Gear Solid game. You have many ways to stealth your way into an enemy base camp, crawling your way to your objective, taking out only the guards that stand in your way. Or slowly taking out the entire base, with some help of you buddies. The buddy system is great, with choice between the sniper 'Quite' (which is very loved in the fan base), D-dog, D-horse (gotta get to those objectives) and D-walker; All of these buddies are handy for killing enemies, making infiltrations easier or just getting form point A to point B. There is also a day and night cycle. The AI will change at night, and you will be able to use the shadows to your best advantage. There is so much more to talk about the gameplay, but for the most you've got to see for yourself.

Sound and Music
I have been listening to Midge Ure's 'The Man Who Sold The World' since I started playing. The choice of music is just amazing, with tunes like Take On Me, Rebel Yell and more great tunes to keep you company. The sound and music is also used perfectly in many situations, like Quite's humming when she's got an enemy in here sights. Random sandstorms are and tropical rain may occur now and then. A sandstorm lowers your field of vision to a minimum, but the same goes for the enemies. You'll be harder to hear and harder to see. A tropical rain storm will damp sound for you and your enemies, creating a new way to tackle the objective.

Story
So the game is perfect right? Nothing wrong with it? We'll that's not true, the story is not that great. With a bigger focus on gameplay and the open world, you can see that it took a toll on the story. Metal Gear is known for it's long and amazing cutscenes, which Metal Gear Solid V does not have. It does have cutscenes, but not as much as many Metal Gear fans would like to have. As I have not played many of the other Metal Gear Games, I did not have a problem with the lack of cutscenes. I did however have a problem with the progress of a certain 'Chapter 2'. I loved and adored chapter 1, and I actually didn't think the story was that bad. But in Chapter 2 the story fell flat on it's face in my opinion. With the exact same missions as Chapter 1 but with a modifier thrown over them to make them harder. These missions are optional of course, but this creates a lack of real main story missions and make chapter 2 just feel like filler. There has also been a lot of divided reactions on the 'plot-twist' at the end of the game. I really liked this twist after reading how this twist fits in with the rest of the games, while a lot of fans felt cheated and disappointed.

Conclusion
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a phenomenal game. With amazing stealth gameplay and a great open world, MGSV makes you return to the game many times. The story is considered OK at best, but I personally really liked it for the most part. The second chapter feels rushed and could've been so much more. The characters are great and the music is amazing. Metal Gear Solid V is an amazing game which might disappoint some fans. But the core gameplay makes for one of the best stealth games you'll find.

"God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen, god save the Queen."

Zombies in London
In ZOMBI, the shambling dead have taken over the streets of London. Few survivors are left in the city, but those who are still alive are doing their best to survive. You play as a random survivor of 'The second blight', a plague that would kill everything it touches and cleanse England to begin again. That random survivor that you are assigned with is saved by a man who calls himself 'The Prepper', he will give you certain tasks that you must carry out through the game, while searching for supplies and weapons. The game has some interesting characters with great motives, like a scientist stuck in Buckingham Palace searching for a cure, or 'The Prepper', a man who is convinced that there is no cure and the only thing possible is to survive.

Gameplay
The game can be finished in between 8 to 10 hours, depends on how much time you'll take searching for supplies. Melee is the main combat in the game, that can get pretty dull after you smack a few zombies with a cricket-bat. There is also a large amount of firearms in the game, which are mostly used for an emergency. You'll get a couple of quests that you must carry out in the whole game, all mostly fetch quests, but enjoyable to play since most of them will send you too new locations. And a new location means: New weapons, new supplies and a new way to die. Most locations are also very grim and full of atmosphere. This game is one of those examples where atmosphere is done right.

Death
ZOMBIU (ZOMBI for the WiiU, the original title) was famous for the interesting death mechanic. Once your randomized character dies, he's dead, no going back to that guy. You'll spawn in your safe house with a new randomized character, stripped for all supplies next to the things you decided to leave at your safe house. The now dead survivor will be a part of the undead horde with all your supplies still safely in his nice little backpack. So the first task at hand is to get back your supplies. Once you reach the area where your survivor died, you must put him out of his misery and regain your supplies, and so the cycle continues.

Conclusion
The zombie survival genre is bloated with the same 'Online zombie survival crafting sim' game. It's refreshing to see a linear open world zombie game done in a singleplayer experience. No crafting, just fun. The PC version of ZOMBIU is a fun, but flawed game. Melee combat is very dull with a total of three melee weapons to find in the game, and one move to execute. The atmosphere is amazingly done, and will give you a real feel of dread through the whole game. Death plays a key part in ZOMBI and you'll get attached to your character even though he has no real voice and backstory. ZOMBI is overall a real joy to play, the game is flawed, but knows how to make a great zombie survival without a dull online open world with a crafting mechanic.

Instead of a quote, i will start this review by telling you this: "This game is a love letter to Resident Evil fans". The return of Barry Burton and Claire Redfield deserves a big thumbs up to Capcom. The old B-movie like story is back with an interesting antagonist, which some fans have been waiting for. The game has a lot of self-awareness, making quotes now and then that fans will remember, like: "I was almost a Claire sandwich" or "Who's the master of unlocking now?".

Story
Claire Redfield works at an anti-terrorist organization called Terrasave. Barry Burton's daughter Moira recently joined Terrasave. Terrasave is hosting a party, which gets crashed by mysterious mercenaries, and injects everyone with something. Claire wakes up in a cell in an unknown location. Shortly after she finds Moira also locked in a cell. Both are wearing strange bracelets through where a mysterious woman is speaking, quoting poetry and giving instructions. Claire and Moira must find out where they are, who this woman is that is speaking to them, and how to get away from this place.

Gameplay
The gameplay is very similar to Revelations, over the shoulder third person action, with a little bit of survival horror here and there. scarce ammunition and though enemies make for some tense moments. Next to Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, you will also be able to play as Barry Burton accompanied by a girl named Natalia. The game uses an episodic structure in which you play a part of Claire's story and a part of Barry's story. Side characters like Moira and Natalia won't use guns, but have another special ability. Moira has a flashlight, which she can use to slow enemies down and stun them. Natalia in Barry's campaign has the ability to spot enemies from a distance and through walls. This is useful for Barry to easily sneak kill the enemies. The main campaign has a big focus on story, and a fine mystery to solve, but the gameplay is much like every recent Resident Evil game. The place where the gameplay really shines though is at..

The Raid Mode
The raid mode is back from Revelations, and better than ever. More characters and more stages to play makes for a very fun experience. Many unlockables and special weapons to achieve makes the new raid mode very, very addictive. Many critics have praised the raid mode in Revelations 2, it's like a little RPG hidden in the game. for those of you who are not familiar with the raid mode. Raid mode has you run through an area, killing enemies with your selected character and loadout. You can achieve medals in each of the stages to get a higher score. At the end of the stages you'll be rewarded XP to level your character and improve in your skills. The raid mode in Revelations 2 is very addictive and fun, and might even be worth the price alone.

The PC launch
After all the praise I gave the game, I can't help but say that the pc launch of this game was horrible. A very bad port from the start with huge performance issues, which has been fixed a few days ago. My pc can run almost every new game on ultra, and I couldn't play this game on low without huge fps drops. Luckily this has all been fixed now, making it possible to play this game on ultra fluidly. I can barely forgive Capcom for this horrible launch, but after all the fixes, i can't help but say that this game is actually very, very good.

Conclusion
With a horrible launch, Resident Evil Revelations 2 got a lot of dislike thrown towards it. Now that all the episodes are released and most of the bugs fixed, this game became a solid entry in the Resident Evil series. The return of Claire and Barry is a true love letter to fans, and the cheasy B-movie style story like we all love from Resident Evil is back big time. The addictive Raid mode would be worth the game alone, but the main campaign is a lot of fun, and might be one of the best Resident Evil games since a long time.

There were over five thousand people alive in this city, the day before you arrived. How many are alive today, I wonder? How many will be alive tomorrow?

Story
Captain Walker, sergeant Lugo and lieutenant Adams go to the destroyed city of Dubai to rescue any survivors that they are able to find. At least, that is what they think they are doing here. Upon arriving in Dubai the Damned 33d is in a war with the CIA over control of the destroyed city. Many civilians are still alive and breathing, but know no rescue is coming for them. Walker and his comrades walked straight into hell and need to get out, even if this means doing some of the most inhumane things. The story is the best aspect of the game, everybody who likes third person shooters should've experienced this story.

Gameplay
Spec Ops: The Line is a simple third person shooter, with fair third person shooting mechanics. You, Captain Walker, can take two weapons with you everywhere you go, but these weapons can go out of ammo fast so you'll have to pick up weapons from your dead enemies. sergeant Lugo and lieutenant Adams are some very helpful friends. You can order them to kill a specific enemy, which is very handy from time to time. Sergeant Lugo is able to make long ranged shots with his sniper rifle and lieutenant Adams is able to flash your enemies if they're standing in a small group. They gameplay may be a bit clunky, but fun for the duration of the game.

Conclusion
A solid third person shooter with an amazing storyline, every chapter has its own setting and never really gets boring. The game has multiple endings and choices to make, so a there is some replayability. Spec Ops: The Line is a game everyone should at least played once purely for it's amazing story. The gameplay does have some hiccups, but can be forgiven.

The American prevailing is a cliché that only happens in your Hollywood movies! Oh, Mr. Kennedy, you entertain me! To show my appreciation, I will help you awaken from your world of clichés!

Story
Six years have passed since the viral outbreak in Raccoon City. The Umbrella Corporation has gone bankrupt due to a crash in stock sales after it is revealed that they are to blame for the incident. Leon S. Kennedy, one of the few survivors of the Raccoon City outbreak, has been trained by the U.S. special forces to protect the president of America and his family. Only on his first day Leon is send to a remote village is Spain, to find the kidnapped daughter of the president. When Leon arrives here he finds out that the villagers of this once peaceful place have turned into mindless 'Ganados', with a strange cult called "The Los Illuminados" controlling the villagers. Now Leon must find and rescue the president's daughter and uncover a plot that could lead to ultimate global destruction.

Gameplay
Unlike its predecessors Resident Evil 4 is an over the shoulder third person action game, with a little bit of survival-horror here and there. Like the other games, you can't walk and shoot at the same time, which for many newcomers might seem annoying but actually makes for a lot of tense moments while fighting the games many enemies. The game is split into three parts and five chapters. With the last part being a bit weaker than the previous two, it's still amazing. The game has a few boss battles, which are all very tense and satisfying to battle. The unlocked Professional mode, is a though challenge, but a lot of fun for hardcore gamers.

Conclusion
As you can see by the hours that I've played this game, I love it. I played all the Resident Evil games and Resident Evil 4 is the one that made me play all of them. For many Resi "purists" this was the death of the series, because of its more action focused gameplay. But for me and many other gamers Resident Evil 4 was a phenomenal game. The story has a fun "B-Movie" vibe to it, and the gameplay does need some getting used to, is still a lot of fun once you learned how to control it.

So many puppets, so many strings... And once we've lifted off, who cares if they figure out who was pulling them? No one on the ship will return to Mazen. Our future lies among the stars.

The Dungeon of the Endless
Dungeon of the Endless is a hard and unforgiving game. It teaches its gameplay mechanics by making you die a thousand times over. With each run you'll find yourself in a different situation, can't find the elevator exit, not enough dust to power another set of rooms, not enough industry to create much needed modules etc. It's an addictive game. Each playthrough has twelve floors, which get much and much harder with every floor.

So many puppets
A few hundred condemned criminals find themselves shipped on the prison ship "Success". Only for the ship to be shot by a nearby planets defensive system. A few escape pods flew off towards the planet, and crash deep inside an old facility of the Endless. The game has an roster of nineteen heroes, which are all very unique and fun to control. You start with two heroes and you can recruit two other random heroes you find deep inside the dungeon. With the big roster of heroes, you'll easily find a favorite. Each hero is balanced by his/her/its strength, defense, speed and DPS. The heroes are all set in three different factions: Prisoner, Crew or Native. This will also affect your group, heroes can have special conversations in the elevator rides in between the floors and they can have special buffs if heroes from the same factions are present in the room with each other.

So many strings
Dungeon of the Endless has rouge-lite elements like FTL and The Binding of Isaac, RPG elements with its leveling and skill system, and tower defence elements with the modules that you need to protect yourself with. It's a weird combination of genres, but it works so amazingly fine. As said before, it's an addictive game, you'll die many times because of its hard and unforgiving nature. But sometimes it feels unfair and based around luck. You could've made this floor easily if only you choose the upper path instead of the path to the left. This is what I think every time I die, but that gives it just a little bit more of that addictiveness.

Conclusion
Dungeon of the Endless is a true gem. A game that you see or hear little to nothing about on steam, but deserves so much more attention than that it gets. With a giant roster of great heroes, and a perfect mix of genres that you would've never suspected to even get mixed. The game can sometimes be based around luck a lot, making runs very unfair at times. That being said, Dungeon of the Endless is definitely worth your money. That is if you're up for a big challenge.

It's the break of dawn: July 16, 1946. Everything's gone to ♥♥♥♥. The Nazi War machine is advancing at an astonishing rate. We can't catch up, our tactics are failing, outclassed and outgunned, and no-one knows why. People are getting desperate. Not me, I'm here to see an old friend and settle a score.

Story
In July 1946, U.S. Special Forces operative William "B.J" Blazkowicz, Fergus Reid and Probst Wyatt take part on a massive raid against the fortress of Deathshead. Which serves as a giant weapon laboratory for the Nazis. The three get captured by Deathshead, and forces Blazkowicz to choose between Fergus or Wyatt. Based on your choice, Fergus or Wyatt die a horrible death. Blazkowicz and the survivor barely escape the compound, but not without injury. Blazkowicz suffers a critical head injury, which brings him into a vegetative state for fourteen years. After he wakes up from his vegetative state, the Nazis have taken over the world.

Gameplay
Wolfenstein: The New Order has some very fun first person shooting mechanics, making it ever so satisfying to kill waves of Nazis. You can upgrade special skill trees by doing certain tasks, this will allow you to play how you want. You can stealth your way through certain levels, which is surprisingly well done. The game has a lot of different settings, which are all very fun to play through. Based on your choice at the start of the game, Fergus or Wyatt will live throughout the game, which gives the game some replay ability. The game has sixteen chapters, which will take the average gamer around twelve hours to complete. You can carry an unlimited amount of weapons, with some you can even duel-wield. Some weapons are upgradable by finding items, like a grenade launcher to add to your machine gun.

Conclusion
The surprisingly good B-Movie story and likable cast of characters make Wolfenstein: The New Order really worth playing by this fact alone. The gameplay is also extremely fun, with lots of weapons to shoot some Nazis with. Even the stealth take on the game is a welcome bonus. Most levels are very linear though. And it may sometimes feel like you're on a rail. The game has a ton of replay ability which add some extra hours to your play time. And keep shooting, stabbing, strangling Nazis.

Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill. Isaac kept to himself drawing pictures and playing with his toys as his mom watched Christian broadcasts on the television. Life was simple and they were both happy. That was until the day Isaac's mom heard a voice from above...

Gameplay
The Binding of Isaac must be one of steams most popular game out there. It's simply addictive and fun. With millions of items to collect and hundreds of secrets to discover, it's no wonder that The Binding of Isaac is so popular. The game is a Rouge-Lite game and is kind of a parody on the old The Legend of Zelda games. Rouge-Lite indicates that if you die, it's game over and you can start all over again. This gives The Binding of Isaac an addictive nature, it makes you say to yourself: This time I will make it to the end. But we are talking about The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth now, which is a remake of the lovable The Binding of Isaac. But for those who are wondering: Yes, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a very fun game.

Rebirth
The first thing you'll notice are the new pixelated graphics of Rebirth. The new graphics give a real professional feel to the game, while the last game was made using the flash engine. Rebirth has tons of new items, bosses, characters and secrets to discover. The only thing that I noticed right from the start, is that it all seemed so easy. This is because I've learned all its tricks in the previous game, and the real: "fail and learn" feeling, was kind of lost. Which made the previous game so addictive. But for the people who have never played the original, the feeling is not lost.

Conclusion
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is an amazingly fun game. With lots of secrets to discover, you could put thousands of hours into this game. But if you have played the original, these numbers might go down a bit. Hardcore fans of the original will love this game, and so will newcomers. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a must own.

So I guess I'd become what they wanted me to be, a killer. Some rent-a-clown with a gun who puts holes in other bad guys. Well that's what they had paid for, so in the end that's what they got. Say what you want about Americans but we understand capitalism. You buy yourself a product and you get what you pay for.

Story
Nine years after Max Payne 2, Max finds himself drinking away his sorrow after he got fired from the NYPD, for consorting with the criminal Mona Sax. He has developed a drinking problem and his addiction to painkillers has gotten worse. He has moved back to where he lived with his wife and daughter: Hoboken, New Jersey. Max gets into a confrontation with the son of the local mob boss Anthony Demarco. And an old friend who claims to have been on the police academy with Max, Raul Passos, finds him at the bar, hoping to recruit him for a private security job in South-America. Max resists, but after he kills the son of Anthony Demarco, he has no choice but to flee from his home.

Gameplay
Of all the three Max Payne games, Max Payne 3 has arguably the best gameplay of them all. The controls are very solid, and the gameplay can be very addictive. The good old bullet-time is back, and works mostly the same as it always has. Instead of being able to carry your whole arsenal with you, like in Max Payne 1 and 2, You can carry up to three weapons. Two small ones, and one big one. If you want to duel-wield your small weapons, you have to drop your big weapon. This is actually very fun in my opinion, this way you have to use every gun at least once. Max Payne 3 has fourteen chapters instead of three parts with each seven to nine chapters. Max Payne 3 is also way more linear than its predecessors. This seems like it has less content, but Max Payne 3 is the longest of the bunch, which will take the average gamer around thirteen hours to complete.

Multiplayer
Next to the story mode, Max Payne 3 has a surprisingly fun multiplayer mode. You can create your own character to use in various different modes. Or if you bought the DLC, you can play fan favorites in the free for all deathmatch mode, like Vladimir Lem, Valerie Winterson, Vinnie Gognitti, Mona Sax and more. The game also has a multiplayer survival mode, called Dead Men Walking. In this co-op mode, you play as Max or Raul Passos, and must fend of waves of enemies, which can be very addictive and fun.

Conclusion
Max Payne 3 is a different kind of game than its predecessors. The gameplay is way more solid, and the change of setting may anger a lot of fans. But this change is very welcome in my opinion and works really well. The story has as in every Max Payne game a few twists and turns, which are still very well done. Many fans say that Max Payne 3 has gone away from its roots too much, but it's still a game about Max Payne, and it's still a very good game with a very interesting and dark story.
