This game is essentially a big deciphering puzzle. But that doesn’t mean it’s unbearable. It looks good, and with some practice you start understanding things and understand how much of a time killer this game is. It's a bit unpolished, but it's fine. A mixed case, should've been free. 5.5/10

There are some things I'd like to point out. Barely to no spoilers ahead.

Pros:
1. Even though the visuals are pixel art (which I usually don’t appreciate), it still looks great. I’d even call it one of the best-looking pixel art games.
2. I’ve always loved the concept of “Interact to figure things out,” and the added layer of a language barrier makes every scene either more heartwarming or more cold, depending on the situation.
3. Characters are well-done — their emotions come through in faces and gestures, and dialogues don’t feel tiring, even for someone like me who despises novellas.
4. The mini-games and little scenes between the main story helps keep boredom away. The ammount of said mini-games and scenes is sad tho.

Cons:
1. No manual saves. Sure, there’s an autosave every morning, but a single in-game day can stretch for hours. Without manual saves, you either leave the game running or redo everything. Thankfully, word translations save automatically and don’t rely on the save system.
2. The “language” — or rather, the Caesar cipher. The game becomes nearly impossible for anyone who doesn’t know English, since the cipher relies heavily on English letter counts, structure, and correlations.
2.1. This also means the game is about deciphering, not learning — once you write down the alphabet (or just look into the in-game one), the whole process becomes pretty straightforward.
2.2. The cipher is inconsistent: many letters are scrambled differently, making certain words almost unlearnable. Even with the full alphabet chart, some letters still map inconsistently, breaking the “smart cipher” illusion.
4. A quick list of smaller issues:
4.1. Insanely repetative
4.2. The GUI looks like an iPhone 4 game and can softlock.
4.3. No options button in the menu.
4.4. No exit button at all — only way out is Alt+F4 or clicking X.
4.5. Can be beaten in under an hour, your actions do not matter.
4.6. The ending is terribly underwhelming. Like, really underwhelming.
4.7. The lore sucks. When you get the idea of whats happening, this game loses a lot of it's value.

A snail walks into a bar, but the bartender says, "We have a strict snail policy!" - and kicks her out onto the street. A week later, the snail returns to the bar and says to the bartender: “Well, why the ♥♥♥♥ did you do that!?”
