I like this game a lot and I think it absolutely deserved the heaps of awards and praise it is bringing in but I do have two notes I'd like to make:
1). The combat is not revolutionary, anyone acting like this redefined turn based games hasn't played a decent one since they were 12.
2). The game pretty much falls on its face any time it makes you do anything that isn't fight something, a lot of the side content, in particular the Gestral games and the jump puzzle areas are incredibly frustrating on purpose, the hard stage of the volleyball minigame has to be one of the most frustrating things I've done since lightning dodges in Final Fantasy X.

Fantastic rerelease of two of my favorite JRPGs, the new translations are great, keeps a bit of the Working Designs goofiness while fleshing out what's actually supposed to be being conveyed to the player.

I like Final Fantasy. :)

I am a reader, always have been, hopefully always will be. As such I have spent hundreds of hours with those "reading ambiance" and other related videos on YouTube, but a constant complaint I have had with them is a vast majority of them contain some little sound or loop of noise that comes across as synthetic and pulls me out of reading to go change to another video. With Spirit City, the amount of customization that it allows for just the background ambiance is amazing. The music, the little pets, the room customization, all of those are all cute and enjoyable in their own way, but being able to have essentially a equalizer for rain, fire crackle, thunder, wind, running water, even a white noise slider makes this a super useful tool for me.

Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance are both very good games for sure but Aria of Sorrow is just the absolute peak of Castlevania. Additionally, I'm fine with Dracula X being on here, but it's just so weird to me Rondo of Blood isn't included with it.

This might be genuinely the best video game remake ever made. At least for me.
The original game is a 11/10 masterpiece and this remake feels like a 5 course meal with appetizers and dessert.
