Since you already spent money on the remake, I'm glad you're enjoying it. As for me, I'd rather go back and replay the original than try out the latest remake - even if I had the latest and greatest hardware to run the latest remake.
I finally beat Descent (1), so now I plan to revisit good ol' 2.5D Doom.
1. The system requirements for the remake are insanely high.
2. Konami already remade Silent Hill 2 (for the PS3 and Xbox 360), and the remake was crap. Konami used to be one of the best third party game developers and publishers in existence, but it became a turd of a company circa 2007. It's downfall was even worse than Capcom's.
Anyway, I hope the latest remake is good, but I don't see myself playing it any time soon - if ever.
I don't quite understand what you mean about Killing Floor 1 being a "period-session game." Anyway, I think KF1 CAN be a lot of fun when played in multiplayer mode, as long as the other players actually know how to function as a team and aren't jerks. When I first got KF1, I played it in single player mode to learn the game's mechanics and the differences between character classes ('perks'). However, I quickly discovered that KF1 in single player mode isn't something I find very fun.
