Imagine first training your community to do their tiny part in pushing major objectives no matter how small their individual contribution is, and then placing yourself into the crosshairs of the entire community.

Well Sony no longer has to imagine, gg

The block breaker achievement is scaled a bit weirdly, given that you run out of content from the game hours before you're even close to breaking 10 million blocks. Other than that the game was decent.

The game has a decent amount of content, and this review would be positive if the enemy scaling made any sense.

This game will permanently debuff the player if they upgrade their character due to the way scaling works. For example, if you upgrade your primary weapon, it effectively makes all of your other weapons and armor worse, as enemies are now equal amounts stronger. There is no way to undo this.

Game design that permanently punishes the player for purchasing upgrades is bad, thus the negative review.

A good mix of zelda, dark souls, and outer wilds. A part of the progression happens through information obtained throughout the game rather than unlockables, so the game is best experienced without prior knowledge / spoilers about those mechanics.

I also especially enjoyed some of the VFX + SFX, specifically the kind used in the bell towers and monoliths/obelisks.

A decent enough game when it works, but the co-op had multiple and frequent issues that forced restoring from checkpoints or restarting the game entirely to solve. A common issue was that the second player is unable to use their skills and equipment. Another common issue was that arenas don't end even after killing all the enemies, presumably as some enemies are still alive but in inaccessible locations outside of the arena. There also were a few instances where one of the players got stuck and there was no way to unstuck them without loading from a checkpoint; even if the one that was stuck was the second player and he disconnected, the game loaded the previous checkpoint which generally meant you have to re-do an arena. These issues combined ended up making the second half of the game more frustrating than fun.

Assuming the above issues didn't exist, this would have been a recommended review, but given the price tag and non-early access release I can't recommend the game currently.

On the topic of game mechanics, a lot of the upgrades become fairly useless at the later stages of the game, as they only work with normal enemies and most of the late game arenas are full of boss enemies. This also makes it impossible to gather the energy resource in some of the arenas, as that is generally obtained by killing normal enemies with combos (which isn't doable if there aren't any around).
