Still needs a few more months to bake. I'd come back in summer and see if it is done yet.

Update: I tried another game, made it to the end of the first age. Then the game just took two of my cities away and gave them to other leaders. I'm sure there was a reason, but I certainly don't know why and the game didn't explain it to me. So frustrating.

I've reported this game to the DEA as it has proven more addictive then cocaine. I've forgotten my pre-Balatro life, and now only dream of those sweet, sweet legendary Jokers.

Early Access Review
At the current development stage, I would pass and let this game mature a bit. There are lots of great ideas, however it currently is very tedious to build and half the game is inventory management simulator.

For example, you can't just place a chest down. First you have to ensure you have the materials in your inventory (doesn't auto pull from chests), then craft a chest object, then equip the object, then place the object down. Everything just takes extra steps that just aren't necessary.

If they can streamline the crafting and other elements, this can be a great game. The upgrade tree looks amazing and the core gameplay seems fun, it just needs less chores.

Indika is a wonderfully bizarre game with heart and soul. It has light and heavy moments, and makes you think about life, religion and humanity. The puzzles and platforming were fun and well paced throughout the game.

The mix of 3d and 2d, while at first odd, is a great fit and allows a great mix of gameplay and storytelling.

Overall I recommend Indika and hope the developer continues with games like this in the future.

So far the combat and design feels good. However I don't understand the design choice to make you spawn at the very start everytime. So far I spent half my time searching for where I died. Running around doing nothing is not fun.

Update 60 hours in:
Still recommend this game, but it's flaws are showing. I now spend over half my time looking for a puzzle to do.

They also emulated MMO's, with lots of progress bars that do nothing but open up the next process bar. I am a completionist and this game goes against that mindset.

The shifting lens puzzles are just blind luck, which isn't enjoyable. Can't imagine most folks with an analytical mind enjoy those.

Recommendations to the developer: Make it easy to find puzzles you are missing (compass, something).

Original review:
Pretty cool first person puzzle game. Combines lots of different types of puzzles along with some light platforming. Seeing other people in your game is interesting, but doesn't add or subtract from the experience so far.

Fantastic followup to the original. I was worried it was just going to be more of the same, and while it is, it is also so original and a great story along with it. If you are a fan of puzzle games, you should definitely pick this up.

I really wanted to like the game, but I'm just bored playing it. It is repetitive to keep flying somewhere, fight, accomplish a small task, then repeat. I forced myself to keep playing thinking it would get better, but I still haven't found the fun.

Took me 2 hours to just log into the game. After more then 10 automated emails, 3 password resets, and a help desk ticket, I made it to a screen with a cryptic message saying URL was rejected. I was just about to give up when I tried changing my secure password of three words (ex: this-game-sucks5) to a really basic password. And it finally let me in.

I've never had a worse experience just getting into a game. So bravo ESO, you manged to take my low expectations and still come in under them.

37 thumbs down.

Fantastic base building and survival game! I love how creative you can be in building your boat. The final installment has finished the story nicely and really puts a polish on the overall experience. Two thumbs up!
