Only actual battle royale I have ENJOYED so far. Gunplay and movement is top notch, basically Titanfall minus double jumping or wall running.

Other elements contribute to the game not feeling as battle royale-y such as a knockdown shield when you're downed so you can survive a bit longer for a teammate to res you or even if you completely die a teammate can resurrect you later at a beacon.

Overall very tight and fun gameplay and my buddy and I won 2 games first night of trying it. Plus it's free!

Early Access Review
I would nearly pee my pants with dread from the amazing atmosphere and monsters if I didn't have teammates that were always by my side closely communicating and working together to escape. Oh sorry, I mean running into a room singing into the mic and spraying bullets at everything that moves. Yes, those teammates.

EDIT: I know this review is kinda meant as a joke, but this is legitimately a great, tense game. I really love it so far and hope to see more content added in the future.

The Ancient Gods - Part One is simply put, an extraordinary expansion to Doom Eternal. It takes everything I loved about the main game and simply... added more. Not just MORE demons, but huge, sprawling levels, new enemies, new music, completely new environments, new challenges, and heck even more skins/achievements.

Essentially I think that if you loved Doom Eternal and just want more to play, you should get this DLC. The first level alone took about 1.5 hours to beat for me on Nightmare, and total about 5.5 hours. I also loved how it brought me back to Doom 16 with the UAC facilities. Combine that with huge replayability with extra life mode/Ultra Nightmare/Secrets/Slayer Gates/Secret Encounters/Unlocking Skins, I think it is absolutely worth it. The story as well is quite something... I won't spoil it but if you like the lore in addition to the gameplay like me, it's very worth it for that as well.

It is worth mentioning this DLC is quite a bit harder than the base game. The first level is probably on par with Final Sin or the Master Levels and it ramps up HARD from there in the 2nd level. I would say be prepared to turn down the difficulty, and this is coming from someone who has beaten Ultra Nightmare multiple times and never plays lower than Nightmare. I am definitely going to go for the gold skin on the DLC too but first playthrough kicked my ass.

Lastly the music - David Levy and Andrew Hulshult are a really complementary pair I think. Andrew has the sick guitar riffs and David nails the deep synth tracks. I liked recognizing both their styles throughout and I think it was overall really well done. Only complaint was that the music was pretty quiet at times so I am going to adjust my sound effects settings. I initially thought they didn't have actual fast paced combat themes but I think I just didn't notice it with the crazy action and quiet music volume.

Anyway I would 100% recommend this DLC if you, like me, have loved Doom Eternal and sorely need new content. I forsee myself playing this for weeks to come learning the levels and beating all the challenges. It's a wonderful, challenging addition to an already amazing game.

Death Stranding is... well... an incredible masterpiece. I went into it completely blind, knowing NOTHING about the story, setting or even gameplay. If you as well want to be surprised by gameplay elements, skip this review. I of course will not spoil the story.

Anyway, at first the game starts off pretty slow and with some intriguing cutscenes. Honestly it does take a while to get into it and you need to persevere through the first few hours of the game because nothing will make sense. Even though you have no idea what's going on, the cinematography, graphics, and design are spot on.

I was expecting a "walking simulator" with some topography challenges and 100% stealth. I was not prepared to start acquiring lots of cool gear that let me do crazy things like skate down a mountain on a hoverboard, ride a zip line, or make grenades from my own excrement. Vehicles are a thing (I had no idea) and after all the hours of walking it was a welcome change to plow through snow in a truck or fly over meadows on a bike.

Things really started getting intense a few chapters in when suddenly I found myself experiencing COMBAT IN DEATH STRANDING! I was definitely thrown for a loop, especially because there are quite a few guns as well as non-lethal options, frag grenades, even armor.

So, consider that you have long expeditions with hugely varied landscape to overcome, enemy humans, monsters, tons of varying gear you have to plan with, and many weapons as well, suddenly the game becomes huge and full of possibilities. Granted, the combat isn't always perfect and can sometimes be oddly unresponsive or janky. I got frustrated in some battles because Sam would grasp his backpack straps instead of ready his gun, for instance. But these are small annoyances. The game is oddly social as well with buildings you can like and interact with from other players, as well as signs or mushrooms sprouted from peeing. Yes, lol.

All I can say is give this game a chance. Yes, it is weird. Yes, it is genre bending. Yes it can be tedious sometimes from a gameplay perspective. But it has all the quality of a movie combined with a very solid foundation of a game. It is extremely intense at times and may challenge the way you think about things (I know it did for me). It has many subtle and deep concepts that really make your brain think. As well as some just balls to the walls crazy action moments. The story is captivating and emotional. Towards the last few hours of the game I just didn't want it to end but couldn't stop playing/watching.

Overall, I would 100% recommend this game. It is not perfect but even the greatest masterpieces have flaws, and in this case it's well worth the experience. I finished Death Stranding yesterday and can't stop thinking about it.

FO76, despite the memes and terrible launch, is a pretty decent game now. It's really fun with friends and I love how you can totally build and customize a base. It is still a bit buggy, and sometimes frames aren't super smooth, but it's really not that bad. Getting the game on sale I feel like it was definitely worth it. There are some really cool locations and fantastic views, that are made far better when exploring it with buddies.

Need For Speed: Heat is in my opinion the best NFS in the last 10 years. I played over 50 hours on Origin when it released. It takes a lot of the strengths from previous games and removes MOST of the weak points. For instance it takes the fun, varied and busy open world from Rivals, and combines that with a much higher stakes experience at night with cops on even more roids. Plus you only get 3 repairs for your car at night, unlike in Rivals where you could infinitely repair yourself. I do like how they split the XP into night, and money into Day. This does make for a very simple progression system that lets you choose what you want to work on. They did away with the awful, atrocious and crappy upgrade system from Payback and simply... let you buy the upgrades you want. Crazy, right? Plus customization is really well done, let's you choose and customize nearly every single cosmetic option on your car.

I will say the Day races get pretty boring after a while, especially since only a few races give very much cash for beating it and they tend to be really long, circular, simple tracks. It takes a bit of grinding day races if you want to afford a really expensive car + upgrades + customization. However, if you go for a car you really want it's worth it.

Night racing is where the games becomes so much fun. The atmosphere and music is top notch. You start off simple at Heat Level 1 where only basic cop cars chase you, at that point you can often wreck them by steering aggressively side to side or by leading them into an obstacle. Level 2 you get slightly more improved cops, you might gain 1 or 2 more chasing you at the same time. Level 3 is where the difficulty spikes and you may find yourself getting chased by Corvette's and spikes getting dropped. At this point you had better have a plan in mind because you start taking massive damage, with only gas stations to repair yourself or a one time use repair kit.

Level 5 the game is absolutely nuts, you need a top of the line/max upgraded car to even hope to outrun anything. Helicopters, spikes, 5 - 10 cops chasing you, roadblocks, and even Rhinos (armored trucks) trying to smash you ends in an extremely chaotic and brutal chase. As promised, it's incredibly high stakes because you can gain multiple levels of XP by surviving but if you crash, or get busted, you lose EVERYTHING.

Another point worth mentioning is the awesome variety of cars, complete with many classics from previous games. For instance I was absolutely JAZZED to see the Countach return from NFS High Stakes, in addition to the Diablo SV. The classic Murcielago from NFS Hot Pursuit 2, as well as other ones like Dodge Viper, Corvette Z06 and others. Just such awesome call backs to previous glorious games that really bring out my nostalgia.

Overall NFS Heat is nearly all good, I do wish they kept the ways to fight back against the cops from Rivals, as you mainly have defensive tactics in Heat. However it does mean you need to focus on racing better and being strategic instead of just spamming a button to EMP a cop or something. Soundtrack is mostly great, especially at night. It's the best option you have for modern NFS at this point, I think.
