Do you like Bethesda Softworks? Their early work was a little too bloated for my tastes, but when Morrowind came out in '02, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole game has a clear, crisp design, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the RPG a big boost. It's been compared to Gothic, but I think Morrowind has a far more defined and universal approach to RPGS. In '06, Bethesda released this, Oblivion, their most accomplished installment. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Shivering Isles", an expansion so wacky, most people probably don't listen to the subtext. But they should, because it's not just about the duality of madness, and the ensuing Mania and Dementia, it's also a personal representation on the Mad Dog himself
