Played a Cracked version of the game a long time ago. Really really loved this game. Still really love it. bought it simply for nostalgia and to support whoever put this togheter.

A masterpiece in terms of being a first person metrovania.

As much as I enjoyed allout about the game. I feel once again the game makes the mistake of multiplayer. Just as the first game this one is a singleplayer game marketed as multiplayer. Why? Cause the entire game is balanced around singleplayer. If you play as we did 4 players. Every fight is super easy. The horror is gone cause nothing is scary. And the resources are to plenty. This combined with a overconveluded base building system that at first seems really cool but gets more and more frustrating as you go in to it. Did not really work well.

but the greatest sin of all is that playing as multiplayer usually means it goes a few days or weeks between sessions. The game never reminds you or marks anything on the map in anyway that allows you to remember where you been. The fact that such a massive issue from the first game remains is insane. I should not be forced to put out a color code marker at each cave and POI and have some sort of hidden language where green is cleared.. blue is unexplored and red is still ongoing.. It sound simple but it's tedious and drained allot of fun from the game.

So every session started with us trying to figure out.. ehh ok so what where we doing? We had a keycard? where did it go? Do anyone remember? And the game does a terrible job keep track of anything for you.. but wow you pop down something to build in your base and it has the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ resource list PRINTED On your screen without anyway to hide or remove it.. thats so important!! to make me remember i need to pick up 20 sticks!! and 50 rocks!! but where the plot is going? ahh you figure that out based on hidden notes and cutscenes.. Ahh did i mention that cutscenes only happen for 1 player and the other can freely run about and either ruin or at some occasion miss out on an entire cutscene?

The game does allot of good cool things but it's being held back trying to remain some sort of immersive simulation? which i get it. it's unique. but it's not helping the games flow and is mostly just annoying to the point of me just giving up on the game after 30h.

Also the story is acting like it's super mysterious and deep but i feel this is FNAF and LIMBO ♥♥♥♥!! where they just threw a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ togheter.. A cult.. a corporation.. experiemnts. wierd mineral.. alien ship.. And expect the community to just spin theories until they make up the story for the developer.

Many won't agree with my take but this is just how i feel. I won't be playing this anymore.

As Much as I considered giving the game a Thumbs down. It doesn't deserve it. For the price and honesty of the developers I feel the game deserves praise. I wont go in to the whole Pal vs pokemon arguments floating around. I honestly dont care. even less so when nintendo is involved. But I feel Palworld is not my cup of tea simply. I had issues with similar games and I feel allot of the gameplay loop doesnt scratch my itch. So in my opinion the game aint worth it..

However if your a fan of games like Ark survival evolved. Valheim and conan exile. And wanted a pokemon theme typ of the game with a focuse on pve and minion managing? Then this is gonna be right up your alley.

Alright 30h in and I'm so close being done with this game. Honestly what the actual ♥♥♥♥?

Maybe people playing it singleplayer is having better time. But multiplayer is nothing but cancer.. People lagging around all about. Desynch constantly. Quest markers disapearing or suddenly not appearing for certain players. Enemies freezing then lagspiking around and suddenly killing you cause you where out of synch. Quest parts not registrating as complete for some and as complete for others. Some quest refusing to progress for a player.

The world starts of interesting but very quickly becomes a boring slog of a to do list check marker where you got 1000 of these evil wellspring mushrooms to go and cut down. All of them looking the same. All of them act the same.. You get a sense of exploration that dies out quickly. there's no real story or quest.. just notes and notes and random things to read while random NPC that you collect as glorified upgrade tiers for crafting benches.. Tell you random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that doesn't lead anywhere.. The pacing is completly off and the scaling of enemies is even worse. You go with maxed out lvl 20 gear and lvl 15 armor.. Vs lvl 15 enemies.. and my attacks with every perk unlocked still does like 5-10% hp per attack on them.. Combat is so underwhelming.. attacks feel like your flaling paper towels at the enemies.

I tried going the rogue bow dagger tree and i got close to the entire tree unlocked and i can't for the love of me understand what the actual ♥♥♥♥ im suppose to do? I do no damage. yet the enemies 2-3 shot me no matter what i do. Maybe it's a mistake to play many people? SInce i read it scales with players?

The bosses are either pushover jokes or tanky sponges that spam area attacks all over the area making them nothing but frustrating and boring to fight. The talent/perk system is complete waste of time where 90% of all talents just gives you % more dmg with that or % less dmg from that or % use less food or some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And the few that adds features add either useless features and functions that makes you question why you would waste points on them? Or add over the top broken functions you can't play without once you unlocked them like double jump.

It's so incredibley lackluster. And the world doesn't get any better. You never feel that spark of magic you had the first 2-3 hours.. it's gone instantly and never to be seen again like dad with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ milk.

I'm done with this game. It's so cluttered down by terrible designe choices by the creators.. Why do you get xp for mining but no other gathering? Why do your improved pickaxe only make you slightly faster when mining? why doesnt it give you more per chunk? It makes it so gathering is just tedious no matter if it's good or bad..

And people may say.. you got the settings.. tweek it so it fits your preferences.. For sure that is an option but if the game litterly needs me to balance it for them.. then something is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wrong here. Im not talking difficulty.. I mean i need to decided how much iron drop per swing? Seriously? What's next? should i decided what the game cost on steampage?

The game really had rollycoaster of up's and down's. The game went from being one of the most loved games that year to being absolutly torn apart cause of sony. and simply cause the devs failed to recognize allot what made the game fun and made terrible decisions for the balancing. I took a long break from the game and recently came back.

And now the game is more or less completed a full cycle and is at it's best its ever been. All difficulty is fun and fair even the highest feel balanced. There's so much to unlock. Super credits are better balanced. And they added an insane amount of mission types. biomes. And enemy's for 3 distinct factions.

This is an amasing game that deserves massive praise. The only negative thing is that if you not activly looking to farm super credits from time to time you end up in situation where you can't unlock anything and you keep getting 0 medals.

Last issue would be the ODST warbond bundle.. As much as i think it looks amasing. AN ACT OF LOVE!! that really really comes at a peak time and works wonder with the launch of xbox.

I can't help but worry that the fact that every warbond they ever released no matter the content has been 1000 credits.. and suddenly they release this gimick crossover and prices it at 1500 and tags it as legendary bundle. And if this sells all to well which it will. we risk sending the GO SIGNAL to sony or other investors in the company that Crossover gimicks is the way to go. And in the long run the game can risk losing it's identity and just become a Skin-collector.

I feel this is a good game for the price. the fact you get a pretty ok walking simulator with some puzzel solving. And some monsters to hide from. Really feels like a bargain. However.. How this game won Vr game of the year.. With so many other contenders out there? doesnt make any sense to me? This game even if i presume is made by a very small team. Is still extremly limited. to the point of both it's core gameplay and autentic look giving you early alpha stage feeling. The game lacks polish. I feel this game won VR Game simply cause of it being cheap on the storefront or even free at points. And people vote for games they recognize as other vr games maybe gatekeept to much with there price points.

Now is this a bad game? no. but is this worth being this years best in anything? NO.. definetly not. The fact the game is trying to give you the impression there's more to it by adding daily challenges. A currency to farm by doing random challenges. And items to buy that will make your next missions easier. Doesn't really add much and feels like misplaced effort when the game's real focuse should been on tweeking and reinforcing it's core gameplay loop.

The fact that we done act 1 act 2 and act 3 and is now on act 4. And in all thos acts. all we done is click on things. All challenges just been us doing simon says with stones. Simon says with tablets. Simons says with keys. And simon says with pillars. At least that what it feels like. The game is limited in its own nature. And therefor the fact that all pussels or encounters or goals sum up to.. Find 5 keys. pull 5 levers. find 5 markings.

Really really makes me question where the actual effort is? As it's clearly not in the graphics. Or in the monsters. Since all monsters are just.. you see it.. you run away. Except for one monster which you just stand still or it kills you and another one that your not suppose to look at. Now you dont need very advanced mechanics or even a high variation of advesaries to pull this off.

I feel i need to play through this entire game before I say much else about it. The only reason im giving this a thumbs up right now is the price. 3-5$ for this game is a steal. Even better if you like me playing with a few friends. laughing and running around like idiots.

But if i would judge the game for the game itself. I dont honestly see what everyone is considering to be that special. Maybe it will reveal more in time?

EDIT: Ok well we finished the game in 6 hours. 6 chapters. Around 1 hour per chapter. This game feels like thos cheap free Horror standalone solo developer game that markiplier plays over and over. The game lacks quality. Massive amount of reused stuff.. I really dont see what's so good about it and how it was nominated for anything? the mechanics and coreloop is so basic to the point of us getting bored out of our minds at chapter 5. This combined with the story feeling tacked on with massive amount of plotholes and unrelative points that's never explained or worked upon. Your in a maze.. your in a forest. your in a swamp. Your in a mine.. your in a eldorado astec temple.. .Ehh.. ok? we read most of the notes and the whole bloodline curse made sense? but it's never asked why its all happening here? and how the ♥♥♥♥ we as players are interacting with all of it?

This then leads to a cliffhanger pointless ending with some big villain reveal that used for a ♥♥♥♥♥ twist we saw miles ahead.

I give this game a 3/10.. Its the fun with friends kind of experience that i would never bother with in any other case.

I have finished the game. Took 6h to do it on the hardest difficulty and get what Is considered the good ending. So not a very long game. But it was one hell of a ride. I was so invested. The poetic speeches. The deep meanings. The story. The gameplay. It all just works. This game is an excellet showcase of amasing ideas coming togheter and playing with the limitations instead of trying to hide them. Utilizing what they got to make something better.

This game is a 9/10 for me.. If you love max payne and the whole bulletime slowmo shooters. Then this will be a good one for you.

For what it is. It has a very addictiv gameplay loop. 4 players. Play as workers trying to meet the company's quoata.. You got 3 days to get this much worth of scrap. Can you do it? If you fail it's game over and back to day 1. How many quotas will you manage before you run out of luck?

For as simple as it seem or sound. It has some indepth decision making to it. What planet do you pick to loot at? Do you pay attention to scan diffrent monsters and such? And read up on how to deal with them in the terminal? Do you allow some runs to fail to test out things to make it longer the next? What items and ship upgrades and how do you spend your earnings?

All very regular things but all combined actually makes for some interesting decision making. While also staying true to the horror formula. coop games tend to lose all it's horror value since you got friends. I feel even if this game is not that scary in general. It still has allot of potential to spook and make you twitch. And it adds for some hillarious moment.

If you want to try it out for yourself i recommend to look up as little as possible. DO not watch streamers or spoil things. Go in blind like we did.. And for god sake play with the ingame voice system. Do not cheese the game in discord like so many seem to do. It ruins 90% of the game. Nothing's more scary.. Hearing your friend talk normally.. Then suddenly silence and you go.. Steve?... Steve?? STEVE!!

For a game that cost me a few $, It's ok. Was a fun experience with some friends. Took a few hours to beat since some levels felt hard and others where so easy we questioned if we did anything wrong.

Maybe there's some replayabillity? but i felt full when we finished our first normal run. Consider how janky allot of mechanics and the AI is. Its not very polished.

If you grab it cheap with a few friends i bet you will get a few hours out of it.

A Sureal experience that plays homage to old school Fps pussle games. I feel this one you need to experience for yourself. I got no clue if you like it or not. This will not be for everyone. but looking up things about it may take away allot from it's impression and experience. So going in blind is prefereble.
