I 100% Knew for a fact based on the reviews and the trailer that this game was gone ba banger. but holy ♥♥♥♥ Did I not expect it to be one of the best Indie game's i played in a long time. I only touched it for 30 min and i can already say the amount of qualtiy here is insane. It's style. It's hardcore unforgiving combat and survival. How it's a pure old school RPG where every action matter and every little object you interact with have a use. You better pick up that stick.. or else.. So far the game is more or less a Gothic 2D. you can rob anyone. Kill anyone. all NPC got diffrent scheduals. they sleep at night or maybe they are the night guard? then they sleep at daytime. If they work a shop they lock it down at certain hours. If you want to deliver a task they hate to be woken up in the middle of the night to hear about it. The game is full of this immersive things. You constantly get consequences and diffrent interactions for making diffrent decisions. The combat is Grity and extremly satisfying. Every character you meet even tho not voice acted feel unique and worthwhile remembering. The quest and map forces you to plan ahead. make your own markings and pay attention to the story and conversations. The game litterly run's one of the best progression system i ever played. It's so simple yet feel so rewarding. Everything is so easy to understand but so insane to deep dive and make something out of. The fact that this game runs a system that takes in to account all your stats and gear in to a prowes stat that actual NPC react to when they talk to you. if it's low they act like you never swung a weapon. if it's high some of them hardly dare speak to you. Other RPg's need to take note so we dont got the Raider asking the MC powerarmor plasma-gun guy for money.

the fact that the game rememberts if you pet an animal or if you helped an NPC and takes in to accord of you doing such throughout your entire gameplay. There are people who will play this and never experience something cause they made a diffrent choice in act 1 that would given them something diffrent in act 3.

I have finished the game now. Took around 42h. And i had a blast. and 100% recommends this game.

As of when im writing this review me and my friends have put this game on hold. We really enjoyed the pve aspect of the game. It's early and mid level of gameplay and progression was very satisfying. but there is no endgame. No matter how much they drag the deep desert infront of you and try to claim it has both pve and pvp end content. it doesn't.

the pvp is a lackluster Warthunder Ornithopter rocket spamming fest with very little of the actual Sword and gunplay you suppose to take part in. The trailer showcasing people using skills and fighting with melee.. Comes down to people spamming rockets until your crash. then using rockets to kill you on the ground. Or if your lucky they want to jump down and use weapons. but then your treated to gangbangs of people using lock on stunlock abillities chained togheter making it impossible for you to fight back.

In 100h i never once run in to anyone else at one of the pvp ships. there's no actual reason to fight there. Since all the unique drops are 100% decided people figure out within the first day what 3-4 unqiue drops where and no one is interested to pvp over tier 3 uniques.

And the game doesn't have enough balancing in general to fuel a tight forumal for pvp. It just doesnt work or feel thought out when it actually happens. It really doesn't hold up. even the people defending it seem to actually not enjoy the core part of it. The melee would need a a better form of. block, parry, grapple. dodge mechanic. as of now. Parry and dodge is the only way to do anything and parry is so badly netcoded for pvp it turns in to a spam fest where you felt more lucky then skilled.

The pve doesn't get any better. the enemies you faced 10-20h, turn in to tanky versions you face 80-100h. So you face the regular grunts, heavy and sniper in close to all camps. Where the only diffrence is the damage they do to you. And how many heavy strikes you must do to kill them.

They are very little variation. On top that most tier 4 unique you find is better then tier 6 items. making the progression stale of quickly as you find little to no reason to upgrade or be excited to find something. Why bother to look for 6 different versions of the same melee weapon that does the same thing? You want the tier 1 blood drinker? the tier 2 blood drinker? or the tier 3-6 blood drinker? you want the tier 1 spark blade.. tier 2 spark blade? Thats the entire game you have let say 150 unique items. but they are actually just 30 and the rest are Ctrl-c Ctrl-V versions of a higher tier.

This combined that 90% of the resources you farmed become more or less useless unless you go about to build a large natrual looking cool base. Which is fun. but lacks any sustananse as there's no real reason to go about and do it. Other then to have something look good. but since there's like 40+ players at top in a siege (server) the chance of anyone seeing it and bothering to care is slim to none.

The game has a massive identity crysis of not knowing what it wants to be. The landrsrada acts like a MMO. The story acts like a singleplayer RPG. Pvp or pve it falls short as the content ain't really pleasing either side. It needs to more or less decide. Since right now they lacking both pvp and pve content to please anyone.

This on top showcasing a very rushed state with massive amount of copy pasted locations. All from entire bases and canyons. caves. you run in to the same layout over over. Consider how limited the map is in terms of the POI. i don't see a reason why this game needed to take the easy route.. For ♥♥♥♥ sake 60% of the map is rock and sand? and you still needed to copy paste the last 40%?

I be coming back to this game in a year or two when i feel it's actually come around to adding the necesary changes. As of now i can't really do much more with it. 100h is good tho. but i expected more honestly.

I made the mistake of trying to play this game PVE. in 6-7 hours I hardly run in to anything remotly dangerous. the game is exremtly in need of pvp and other players to be interesting. The game plays this form of sandbox. Where you sorta move about and loot junk to go and find more junk. I hardly felt within an hour that the game was giving me breadcrumbs or reasons to widen my search. The enemies exist in a few types. The standrd exploading. toxic.. fast runner etc.. very standard and get's boring quick.

The game feels repedetiv and feel like 3-4 years away from being an actual game worth playing. The combat is riggid and feel like swinging a wet towel. The shooting feels like your playing morrawind with some sort of RNG system that just rolls the dice if you hit or not.

The inventory system is abyssmal, It doesn't stack things for you. It doesn't tell you what most ♥♥♥♥ does or do.. it's horrible to use and not userfriendly in anyway. and get's worse when you start making a base.

a GREAT NOVELTY game. I think I'm benefitting for playing this with 3 other friends. Since we having a blast running the tavern togheter. The quest and task add a bit of variation and the game constantly keeps a good pace to unlock new stuff. While engaging you with new things you not seen before. It's hard to tell if this is just the first hours and if it will slow down. But so far it's great. It's not very deep but it's still not that shallow. It has good depth of minigames and little task to do to keep things running while also allowing you to automate certain things as you progress.

The story is a bit on the lower side. More like little task you get and allot of them don't make much sense and ain't that coherent. but it get's the job done.

Took us around 11 hours to do 75% of all achievments and finish the main game. Now all we got is the grindy achiements and here we call it quit. I feel i got my money out of it. Just sad that allot of the game is clearly asset bought things put togheter. I'm also sure they use AI to generate the voices of characters. but for what it is.. Can't complain.

a FUN coop experience. but sadly a very shallow one. They try wtih some interesting ideas. but honestly the game lacks a tone in variation. the Submarine part feel tacked on. Not sure but it's just blips on a map and very basic controls. you never really touch on any larger monsters.

Then the compound missions feel like lethal company. I guess that's the point but it got repedetiv fast. For the price tho I feel no regret playing.

Was a fun first impression. A bit chaotic to play as 5 people. I mostly just blasted whatever I had in to a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pile of friends and enemies. but overall i like the old DarkRPG estetics. I enjoy the old Rune/gothic typ of story. the small parts I noticed.

Only thing i really hate is the microtransactions. I honestly don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get how anyone can defend this. no matter if it's only cosmetic to some degree or that it's a F2P game at it's core.. The fact that you can buy a a sword in real life for less money then what an skin for a sword cost in this game is insane. SOme items cost like 80$ for a single item? That's like grocery for a week? WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥?

I get many people seem and are okey with this. but I'm terrified that we are allowing to normalize this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And it's just gona get worse.

If not for that I can't find much fault with the game so far. It's pretty solid. I would rather paid 60$ for it and just had all of the stuff in the game to be found.

Around 65h in to my first playthrough. Really not focusing on the main story. Just exploring a ♥♥♥♥ tone and trying to find all artifacts.

the game is a blast and really fun. It has the foundation to been game of the year and could been my game of the year simply cause of Nostalgia.

However the game is being held back by massive technical issues. A insane amount of bugs. All from small funny ones you laugh at to game breaking softlocking ones that forces you to reload saves back maybe several hours if your unlucky. The game really is stuck between some sort of identity crising of trying to be an A-life Sandbox which it does poorly. While also trying to be a more linear semi-open world game with a storyl ike the OG stalker games. And it sorta fails at both cause it's not focusing.

I feel this game will be amasing in a year or two. Sadly that's reality. The game itself has the foundation. Just like cyberpunk did. but it's clearly been rushed out to meet some sort of demand from investors or microsoft/publisher. While also being strangled by the demand to be a console game. you see so much in terms of the quick buttons the weapon wheels the simple inventory system. How 90% of all NPC just have like 1 dialoge option. It's clearly limtied to work with a controller or on a console and that's so sad.

Modders already having a field day with the game and I'm sure we gonna get some amasing things in the future.

This review is a bit WIP since i plan to do a more detailed one when i actually finish the game. but if you plan to buy the game and expect Anomolt 250+ mod installed experience. Then you gonna be so disapointed. but if you looking for the original stalker games experience with more linear quests a fun open world to explore and a ♥♥♥♥ tone of nostalgia to experience. Then this will be a good buy. If not then I honestly Recomend to hold off and give it time.

Right now Im pulling my own hair trying to locate all the artifacts. Specific the legendary Arch artifacts. And 99.9% of the time they just glitching about and refusing to spawn. No matter if i look up a guide. they not spawning in. And if i for some reason use the console it's telling me it hasen't even spawned.

I got no clue how anyone found some of these without datamining. the one in the tornado there's not a single hint at all that there will be a floating Artifact spinning about and that there's one pixel of a location on a crane where you can both grab it and not get flinged about and die instantly. And it somehow shows up on all videos i seen. but never in my own game. and all hints and tips tells me to litterly reload a save like 1h back and go try again.

Yea I'm not doing that. Just for it to not be there again. ♥♥♥♥ off. That's just one out of like 100 issues I ran in to. I got quest refusing to be completed. That i can't deliver. I got an NPC i need to go back to that despanwed and is just gone from the game. The enemy AI still just spawn right behind you like 10m away and just start shooting or hunting you. The game is being held back by a bunch of puddle deep mechanics that needs another year in the oven.

Hopefully I got all the trust in the world for GSC to fix this. Keep up the good work. Lately I been getting more crashes and Issues. Which is strange considering they suppose to be patching the game. But we see. I still got faith.

Alright aorund 125+ hours now and I can say i feel i hit a wall. I don't know what Stealth changes they made with the Giant DLC but i went from being able to battle 2-3 AI on normal difficulty. to not even being able to defeat 1 MEDIUM AI. It always ends the same.

I dominate. I fight. I kill the enemy Ruler i destroy 1-2 cities. I have 2-3 vassals that keep raiding and destroying there territory. Then as i push for the last base.. somehow the AI just ♥♥♥♥♥ out five 6x unit armies with higher tier they had moments before and with the ruler and usually within 2-3 rounds of just losing to me.

As im about to win the game i get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over by the AI simply cheating in extra units somewhere out in the non-vision area. I feel like i gone insane and delved down the Conspiracy theory act. As this is just baffeling to me. but i can't get past it. I started and lost like 10-12 campaignes since the giant dlc. And i had no issue before hand.

So i feel honestly 100% done with this game.

Well around 20h. And i can say.. If your buying this for the Singleplayer campaigne then your in for 10h of awesome gameplay. If your buying it for coop its the same if you get it to work. but it's around 50/50 if the game just gonan keep disconnecting. crashing or throwing you in to offline mode and kicking people back to the menu. In the 10h we had close to 25-30 restarts and resets and been forced to replay 2 missions. Since trying to launch any mission midway through has been impossible so if they all crash halfway through your almost better off restarting and reloading the begining and praying it work. After the latest patch we can't connect at all to one another. We can all start solo ques and go in to matches but nothing works in terms of inviting or joining either through invite codes or steam friendlist. And we all can play without issue in every other game. So something is clearly wrong here.

If your buying the game for the multiplayer side. The operation and the pvp. then you probably be disapointed. It's allot of fun to be had. And sure some cosmetic to unlock. (at least for the space marine side. Chaos has 0 cosmetics and your stuck to 1 armor set that you can re-paint. =/. )

The operation mode is 6 missions. All pretty cool but since they very story driven they get super repedetivt. I litterly was forced to play 5 missions just to earn enough xp to unlock 1 upgrade for my standard weapons for 1 class. And thats 1 class out of 6... So the grind is insane if you plan to unlock allot. And this is a clear signe that they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in terms of variation. Since theres only like 2 melee weapons 1 side arm and 2 primary weapons per class.. You litterly have like 20h of grind just to unlock your second primary. This is simply cause there's not enough to unlock other then cosmetics. So they pushed the unlocks to insanity.

If you then feel ♥♥♥♥ it.. What about the pvp? then you be treated to a pretty ok but somehow lackluster version of a 6v6 gears of war typ of game. Where most of the time you die it's cause of a lack of control over your movement. Now it can be allot of fun. but the rewards are so lackluster in terms of winning or losing.. you litterly get more for being AFK in a win.. then dominating at a losing game.

I honestly would loved them to just scraped the entire operation mode and pvp mode. And just had double the effort and lenght of the campaigne. And I would been much happier. As of now I feel the game is still stuck in the oven.

An amasing first impression. I can't really put my head on what the game is. The graphic and atmoshphere is a huge love letter to half life 1 and black Mesa. The intro itself really showcases that. The gameplay is similar to that of a survival crafting game. where you must manage your bars. And find stuff the help your odds to survive. While also looking to unlock new areas/regions to then in term get better stuff.

But same time the game reminds me of the coop maps of Half life zombie or No more room in hell. Where you must solve issues and puzzels all over the area. Find the battery. Locate the fire hydrant etc. While the game also has a very deep character stat and leveling system that reminds me of project zomboid. As you chose your role and what benefits and flaws you start with.

While the game also for some reason really reminds me of system shock in terms of it's inventory system and combat. Allowing you to play it smart and use things you find in ways that allow you to be creative.

All this the game does.. And it makes it really hard to just say.. oww it's this and that game combined.. Or it's this game but with this in it? So what can one say after only 2 hours?

This is Abiotic Factor.. And it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amasing so far.
