Half Life returned and the bar has been raised, again:
* The level of immersion is the greatest for any VR game, there are a few moments which are the greatest things that I have ever played.
* The pacing and game design, again, top quality, smart, no hand holding.
* Production values are incredible for a VR game, graphics, sound, vfxs, acting, script. etc.
* The story, what a return to the lore. Don't want to spoil it but it is a must play if you're a Half Life fan.

The only downside is that I don't know what to play next and I feel empty, perhaps time for a second run.

I wanted to like it but it fails to do so:

Every dialog has 4 options with are basically the same
There's no impact on the world from your actions
Writing is terrible
I didn't care about the world because there's no rol playing
Voice acting on your MC doesn't allow rol playing.
Quest are repetitive and boring
Base building doesn't add anything to the game
No factions, there's only friendly or enemy.

The good:
Graphicals improvements
Gunplay

Procedural planets are all uniform, no continents, no sea, no rivers, no cascades, no snowy mountains, only deception after deception. So much wasted potential.

I fell for the hype.
Now, I feel robbed, tried to fix it with mods, it's not good enough, it is really boring after 2... 3 ... hours, super repetetive.

I can run the new DOOM in Ultra at 1080, 60 fps, and No Mans Sky struggles, 22 Fps.

I feel a bit sad.

I hope this review helps. I'm just been honest.

Maybe try it if it cost around 10$, at 60$ it is a scam.

Have a good day.

Beautiful game, great writing, well paced, varied gameplay, excellent game design and level design, based on historic events. Perfect game to explore the horrors of The Great War with a comic feel, would recommend without a doubt. Get educated while you play.

Music and sounds are on the same level as the rest of the game.

In general, it feels like a game made with love. Good work Ubi Mont pellier team.

I haven't been unable to run it the first time I got it, but one day I had a huge hangover, decided to give it a try and it ran without problems. I finished in two days:

The gameplay is basically a Lemmings in 3d with the ability to sculpt the Earth. Physics on the engine are pretty impressive, you get a sense of gravity, mass, erosion, etc.

Art fits great, shammanic vibes, tribes are interesting and it's all well rounded with a very organic music and sound effects.

Controls could do way better with M+KB, it seems that it was designed to play with a gamepad in mind. In any case, most of the time you'll be just clicking and pressing 1,2,3,4 and/or spacebar.

It feels like it was going to be bigger, to me it felt short, I really wish there were more content available. The last levels were great.

I'll give it a 9/10
