Off the Grid is an interesting mix of battle royale and story-driven gameplay. The cyberpunk world looks great, and the idea of doing missions during a match is refreshing. Combat can feel a bit clunky at times, but overall it’s fun and different from typical shooters. With some polish, this could turn into a really solid game. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Really cool game — it totally gives off Resident Evil 2 and 4 vibes. If you can get it on sale for 200–300 UAH, it's an absolute blast.

Having fully completed the game at 100% on the God of War difficulty.

Alfheim, Helheim, Jotunheim, Muspelheim, Niflheim, Vanaheim, Svartalfheim, Asgard = 100%.

The Valkyrie Queen, Gná = 2.5 hours.
Berserker King, Hrólf Kraki = 1 hour.

Best game ever.

Not recommended for fans of the old games. I launched it and just had zero desire to keep playing. The only things left from *Saints Row* are the name and the character creation. It doesn’t feel like you're playing one of the classic Saints Row titles — it’s just some kind of weird mess, honestly.
If you're curious and still want to try it, wait for a sale and grab it for 200–300 UAH so it doesn’t feel like a waste — more like a small tribute to the devs for the older games.

I really enjoyed the game — definitely worth the 800 UAH I paid. Not sure what issues people were having with the Epic Games servers, but I followed the guide from the first English-language review and everything worked fine for me:

---

**"Go to X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2\\
Delete the EpicOnlineServices folder
Open the 'DeadIsland.ini' file and change 'NoOperation=0' to 'NoOperation=1'
Go to X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\\
Delete the EOS folder"**

---

I played the original Dead Island games about 10–15 years ago, so I’m not too deep into the lore, but for this genre, the lore isn’t all that important anyway. You're just a survivor trying to escape or you have some kind of immunity — the usual storyline for zombie games. So I wouldn’t recommend buying it for the plot — if you want story, better get *Detroit: Become Human*.

The game has an awesome soundtrack — it’s been a while since I played a game where I actually wanted to listen to the OST outside the game.
The zombie damage system is also super cool — wherever you hit them, that body part gets destroyed. Smash the leg — leg's gone. Smash the ass — ass gone. Smash the head — head gone. Very satisfying.

Another thing I really liked is the variety of zombies. A lot of games use 5–10 zombie models, and after a while it feels like you’re just beating the same ones over and over. Here, there’s amazing variety — yes, some repeat, but it never feels like they’re all the same.

There’s no difficulty selection in the game. Instead, there’s a level-scaling system: as you level up, the zombies level up with you.

I'm playing solo, and I'm having a blast.

As for performance — pretty solid. On high/ultra settings I get around 240 FPS most of the time. Some locations like Beverly Hills cause drops to around 100 FPS, but it's nothing critical.

I definitely recommend the game. I think fans of *DOOM* or fast-paced shooters will really enjoy it. Running around smashing zombies to a killer soundtrack? Hell yeah.

17 hours in, completed the game on the highest difficulty:

* This game is basically a parkour/roof-running/gymnastics simulator — 90% of the gameplay is climbing.
* No character progression whatsoever.
* There’s no real reason to explore every corner or look for secrets, even though the locations are massive and maze-like.
* Treasures or gems are placed in the most obvious spots, and they don’t unlock costumes or *anything* that would motivate you to collect them.
* The story is a 3/10 — it’s there, but I felt no emotional connection or real interest in following the characters.
* It doesn’t feel like a game — more like a movie for console players. You sit or lie on the couch, listen to endless dialogue, and press a button every half an hour.
* On the highest difficulty, the game is a complete *ass-whooping*. Dark Souls looks like a casual walk in comparison — the AI enemies just absolutely wreck you.

- Solid 200–250 FPS on ultra settings, no stuttering or performance drops — super polished, top-tier optimization.
- Visually stunning — gorgeous locations, landscapes, and details. Feels like watching a high-budget movie.

Personally, I didn’t enjoy the game and wouldn’t recommend it.

For me, the game combines elements of Skyrim, Dark Souls, and Tomb Raider. From Skyrim, it takes the atmosphere, lore, and story. From Tomb Raider — exploration, parkour, and climbing. From Dark Souls — if you're playing on the highest difficulty — the boss fights.

The game is rich, engaging, and atmospheric. Highly recommended.

* Tons of bugs
* The combat system is absolutely terrible. Parrying and blocking work horribly
* Playing on the highest difficulty makes the game feel like Dark Souls, but unlike DS where you have character classes, weapons tailored to those classes, and a huge variety of builds for specific abilities, here you're stuck with a primitive skill tree (increase HP, increase strength, variations of attacks)
* Controls are heavily optimized for gamepads — playing on keyboard makes me want to puke
* Camera lock-on/focus is awful
