I will start off by saying the animation itself is great and looks better than most games ive played. There are also many fun game mechanics, especially when it comes to combat. Once you get the hang of it (the combat) things like seamlessly switching between weapons, powers, and juggling enemies can be extremely entertaining. With that being said I will get into why this game is still disappointing for me. The combat can be rewarding, but Kratos feels extremely weak compared to previous games. Both weapons feel like pillows not powerful magical weapons crafted for a god-like being. Most of the time fighting enemies is not very rewarding, as your literal skill grows as the story progresses it does not feel like that makes any difference when fighting enemies. They eat most of your shots as they effortlessly move through your strikes, so it does not feel like you can gather any sort of momentum. It does not feel like the Ghost of Sparta is wielding these weapons. Speaking of enemies their design is, for the most part, extremely ugly and generic. Yes the animation quality is phenomenal but most of the creatures you encounter look like deviantart drawings, needlessly glowing. Most of the enemies look like they belong in a children's cartoon or game, not God of War. The level design is also very cartoonish, and ends up looking more alien than Scandinavian or magical. This game feels like it was produced by marvel or disney, it has an extremely "Guardians of the Galaxy" feel in both story and design, especially when taking the terrible side characters into consideration. Everyone outside of Kratos is incredibly annoying. Maybe you like that, but I dont. Especially when looking back at GoW 1-3 this one doesnt feel like it belongs in the same series. Instead of making a GoW game for GoW fans they softened the edges to make something palatable for everyone, but in that process just made something dull. You can skip this game, in my opinion it was overhyped.

Pretty good game, Solid story but the first one was a cute above , combat is better than the first one. Did 2 bersekers after i finished the main story and was impressed so far. ( They are cool but i liked the Valkyries more )
Will probably do more sidequest and bersekers.

i definitely recommend this game especially when its on sale.

honestly a great game one of my favorite npcs so far is brok sure hope nothing happens to him
